Descripción

Play For Her by Givenchy is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2010, this composition was created by Emilie Coppermann and Lucas Sieuzac. In its opening, the fragrance unfolds a vibrant top note of pink pepper, peach, orange blossom, tonka bean and bergamot. The heart reveals an exotic floral with orchid, tiare flower, white cuaba flower and magnolia. The base settles on tonka bean, sandalwood, musk, patchouli and benzoin.

  • Soft and clean, I detect lots of peach. A floral note stands out – I’m not sure if it’s magnolia, orchid or a touch of sandalwood, with a musky hint. It’s the first peppery perfume I’ve owned and I wouldn’t change it. I don’t sense the pepper, patchouli or tuberose – thank God – because I hate that flower in perfumes; it happens with Versace’s Vanitas where the tuberose is very prominent. Edit: yes, it eventually develops the tuberose but it doesn’t disgust me like in Vanitas; this isn’t loud. Oh, Givenchy, how many I love!

  • I absolutely love this perfume; it’s one of my favourites. It’s floral, sweet, soft and very sophisticated. A distinguished scent perfect for special occasions all year round. How delicious! I adore it!

  • I’m disappointed. I failed with Play for Her and its sister Intense. I use the first one so much and don’t like it; they smell very synthetic, like cardboard. Here I only notice a very faint floral touch and the peach is non-existent. It doesn’t impress me; I wouldn’t wear it. I was about to buy Intense blind but it went wrong. I thought about trying the original and nothing happened either. At least I tried; I’ll continue building my relationship with Givenchy; I feel the brand is worth it.

  • I’m somewhat disappointed. I’ve failed so much with Play for her and Play for her intense, her sexy sister. But with the first one, I can’t believe how many times I’ve worn it and didn’t like it. The truth is, I perceive them as very synthetic. On my skin, they smell like cardboard. I managed to detect a few notes. In this case, only a tiny bit of floral, but very faint. And the peach, which was the note I was most interested in, is non-existent. It doesn’t stand out at all. The truth is, it’s a scent that doesn’t impress me; I wouldn’t wear it at all if I owned it. I was about to buy her intense brother blindly. But it went badly with him, so I ended up letting it go. And I thought: why not try Play for her? So I did, but nothing happened. Well, at least I tried. My fragile relationship with Givenchy will grow little by little. Despite everything, I feel it’s a brand worth it.

  • IMPECCABLE. Givenchy is following Dior’s footsteps and modernising by proposing more urban and light fragrances. When I wear it, people usually compliment me. It’s fresh and slightly spicy, with more than interesting longevity and a very brief but sophisticated trail. It’s not intrusive and is perceived as it should: when someone gets close to you… (because I detest scents that can be detected from a hundred metres away or that linger in a place even after you’ve left two days ago). It’s for ladies who work all day and wish to maintain some elegance during the hustle. I went to the perfumery to buy Aura by Loewe… but I opted for this and I got it right!

  • IMPECCABLE. Givenchy is following Dior in modernising with urban and light fragrances. When I wear it, people compliment the scent. It’s fresh and slightly spicy, with interesting longevity but a short trail and sophisticated. It’s not intrusive; you notice when someone comes close. Ideal for working women who want elegance. I went for Loewe’s AURA but opted for this and got it right.

  • I agree with Moda Adicta: it’s a synthetic scent that tells me nothing. I smell pure flowers; it’s all simple and without personality.

  • Well, something particular happens to me: it smells good and clean. It’s not long-lasting, fair enough, nothing extraordinary. It’s not something I’d die for; in fact, I have samples and don’t even use them.

  • Anto_Vercellino

It feels youthful and striking. On my skin the pink pepper stands out but it remains rich. The longevity is enormous; it lingers on clothes for three or four days. Very good, worth trying.

  • I like it a lot; it smells of blackberries. I’d recommend it to young women who want to look sophisticated. Note: given the price, the trail is light and the longevity minimal, like almost all of them nowadays.

  • irmapaolapj

I’ve had it for a while; it’s sweet, powdery and spicy. The pink pepper is what I smell most; it’s different and that’s why I like it. On my skin it lasts quite a bit, although the trail is light. I use it on cold days.

  • Ampare1985

I’m not good at describing scents, but I recognise and never forget fragrances. I adore sweet notes; I swore it was oriental or vanilla-based. I love all the Plays!

  • It’s rich but very youthful. At 32, I feel it’s for younger girls; I don’t think it’s for after 25 as it lacks personality.

  • Bought it blind and it stuck with me; strange to go without testing it first. Smells like Black XS, I love the powdery note. One flaw: it doesn’t last on skin or clothes, although Play Intense might. In short, I liked it hugely and it’s now my favourite.

  • I love it; I have it and when it ran out I bought it again. It’s fresh, cheerful and 100% original, unlike anything else. You can feel the florals.

  • weraevaelena

It smells delicious; pink pepper predominates, balancing the spice with floral notes and softly spiced with tonka bean. I don’t notice the peach as such, but it’s slightly sweet, nothing cloying. It’s a floral and fruity blend, very youthful without being just another fruity fragrance; it has its own essence. The only BUT is that the longevity is poor and the trail very soft; you have to reapply during the day. For the price, I would have hoped for better performance; it’s a shame because the aroma was wonderful. Edit: I confirm it changes greatly with temperature. In warm climates the projection can be strong, but then it becomes soft and lasts 6-8 hours. Much better performance in high temperatures.

  • Hello everyone, it’s my first time here; I signed up because I have many perfumes and wanted to share my opinion. Let me tell you about PLAY FOR HER: I bought it when I was 25 because I sensed the scent of a friend. It’s one of those scents that captivate and give you a slap in the face at the same time due to its intensity. I loved its youthful aroma; fresh at times and powdery. I’d describe it as soft yet intense at the same time. It’s suitable for any time of day, but in heat or sunlight it manifests with force. I recommend it 100% for someone who wants to attract attention subtly but be remembered as innocent and sensual at the same time.

  • Play is almost identical to Play Intense; they’re very similar, so if you have one, the other is superfluous. To me, it’s pretty, simple and easy to understand. At first I sensed the peach, then some powdery florals. I find it cosy, I suppose because of the tonka bean. I loved it, but as I already have the Intense, I’ll settle for a decant.

  • It’s a very rich perfume; it was my favourite for years. The youngsters were fascinated by it; it’s elegant and refined without being cloying.

  • It was a gift and they got it right. It doesn’t drive me wild but it’s pleasant: I detect peach, soft florals and creaminess from the start. The benzoin also gives warmth at first before fading. In spring it smells of sweet peach, in summer the flowers take centre stage. I haven’t tried it in winter; I don’t think it suits cold days.

  • lacasitadepan

It was one of my favourites; an aunt gave it to me (there was half a bottle left). What a shame they’ve thrown it away. Does anyone know a dupe? I want to have something like it again; it brings back memories from 2014.

  • 1st Prize for the best composition of recent years. I’m calling for the death penalty on those who decided to discontinue it.

  • muyfanaticadelos perfumes

I can’t believe they’ve cut ties with this masterpiece. How exquisite! The trail is brutal and lasts up to 12 hours.

  • muyfanaticadelos perfumes

I can’t believe this fragrance has been discontinued; it’s simply exquisite, with an excellent trail and a longevity of up to twelve hours.

  • Aldylu Arg

What a pity you’ll miss this gem. It breaks the mould and raises the bar. Spicy yet sweet, innocent but with attitude.

  • I’m still crying because I can’t find another perfume that gives me the same feeling. I wore it for seven years (both the violet and pink versions), it was my identity. Nothing compares to it. I still don’t understand why Givenchy discontinued such a wonderful bestseller. They told me it was due to fashion and trends. They are still selling Amarige which is 50 years old, but they took this one off the market. Incomprehensible! I will always love it.

  • ximvalper

For those who like peach or nectarine, try Hilfiger Peach Blossom and Natura Note de Humor.

  • I’m still crying because I can’t find another fragrance that creates the same ‘Play’ effect. I wore it for seven years (both the violet and pink versions); it was my identity. Nothing compares to it. I don’t understand why Givenchy discontinued such a wonderful bestseller. They told me it’s due to fashion and trends. They still sell Amarige, which is fifty years old, and release this. It’s incomprehensible. I’ll always love it.

  • lacasitadepan

I’m just here to say I found it, sealed and brand new. Madness! After so many years of being discontinued. It still smells the same to me: fruity, sweet and floral. Then comes the musk. I love the peach note. I must say that since I got it (2014) until today I have encountered many fragrances. It was my first expensive perfume and I felt it was very strong, with great sillage and longevity. I don’t know if I will perceive it the same way today with my trained nose, but the scent remains the same. Wonderful! ❤️

Why Givenchy, why? What made you decide to put this spectacular perfume out of business so abruptly? I met it ten years ago (and bought it) in a perfumerie in Panama thanks to the sales assistant. As I had never tried anything from Givenchy, she convinced me. More than the advertising, it was Justin Timberlake switching the lights on and off in Paris from the Eiffel Tower… Rich perfume, easy to wear, attractive, pleasant for the day and elegant for the night. While I loved it, it wasn’t one of my favourites. When I found out it had been discontinued, I learned to value it. I regret using it so casually for so many years, as if its production were infinite, without imagining they would discontinue it so abruptly. They did the same with the flanker of Ange ou Demon, Le Secret Elixir, my sister’s signature perfume, and I have been looking for a replacement for such a gem for years.

  • What joy to have a bottle of this gem back in my collection. Years ago it was one of the fragrances I used most, alongside the Intense version. At the time I didn’t give it the importance it deserves. It returned yesterday after a successful swap and I remembered how much I loved it. It is fruity, floral, youthful, sparkling, delicate, feminine. Divine!

  • A very pleasant and fresh fragrance. I don’t detect any fruity notes on me, only the florals. It still has many imitations.

  • Playas1010

I bought it seven years ago. By 2024 it has lost something of its original scent, even though it was kept in a dark place. I would not buy it again.

  • Playas1010

I bought it seven years ago; now, in 2024, it has already lost some of its original scent. That was stored in a dark place, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • It is one of the most beautiful things to have aromatised our lives. Please bring it back, or recommend similar alternatives.

  • A superbly balanced perfume, easy to wear, equally fresh and sweet. It has a touch of innocence and is very feminine.

  • andreassm

I’ve worn this since I was a child right up until now that I’m 26. It’s a scent anyone can enjoy: slightly sweet without being cloying, fresh without being overly citrusy, feminine and floral. In short, it’s very wearable for everyday life =)
