Ted Lapidus founded his fashion house in Paris in 1951 and was one of the first French couturiers to bring elements of uniform and unisex style to streetwear. In 1963 he joined the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne. His designs were worn by figures such as Brigitte Bardot, Marlène Jobert and John Lennon.

Ted Lapidus perfumes began in 1970 in collaboration with L'Oréal. The brand is currently part of the Groupe Bogart and presents its separate offering for women and men. Création sums up the classic feminine line and Lapidus pour Homme the masculine one, alongside other references such as Rumba, Fantasme, BlackSoul and Altamir.
