I recommend it for the price, but it lacks a sweeter or fresher touch on the skin to sound more youthful.

It’s a strange but rich perfume; to me, it smells very much like Toy Boy.

It’s a good perfume; women practically throw themselves at you 😂. It has a very distinctive scent, like resin and sand, but in the end it becomes very fresh and sweet, absolutely delicious. With this, women literally want to eat you up 😏. 100% recommended 🕉️

A very old-school 80s scent, very house-brand. It’s a cousin to the Ted Lapidus Black Soul Imperial (the latter being slightly more versatile and modern due to the spiced coffee note) and reminds me of the legendary Ted Lapidus Pour Homme from the 80s, or the cult classic Dark/Goth, the Black Extreme. Also reminiscent of vintage luxury totems like YSL Kouros or Chanel Antaeus. TL Black Soul is a strong, long-lasting black soul, fixed for 8-9 hours without reapplication, with a trail of half a metre for a couple of hours; it’s invasive and heavy, loaded with resins, balsam of Peru, spices, a light citrus touch, wood, florals, and lots of musk. This is for mature guerrillas and fresh weather; above 30°C it’s pure sarin gas. In short, nothing to do with current perfumery. Most people, especially the young or inexperienced, will find it dizzying and outdated. But, however little versatile and difficult it may be to wear, almost an onanistic pleasure experience, it’s a great perfume. If you’re a man unafraid of what others say, who passes everything, without compliments or nonsense, with iron personality, go for the Ted Lapidus. They never fail. Plus, they’re laughably cheap; 100ml rarely cost more than 40 quid. Brilliant. Come on, be brave.

A pleasant surprise! I tried it out of curiosity, as I associate the brand with another generation and don’t identify with their style, perhaps due to the packaging. I found a very agreeable blend of two fragrances I like: at first it smells like Spicebomb EDT, though with less potency, and after two hours it turns into Moschino Toy Boy. I can’t believe it doesn’t carry rose because that blooms in the dry-down. Similar to those two great scents, but more synthetic, with 8 hours of longevity. In the end, it settles into average aromatic notes, clean and decent. It lasts on clothes until the next day. For temperate or cold climates, evening wear, and casual style. If you like Spicebomb and Toy Boy but don’t have the budget, this ‘Dark Soul’ is an excellent alternative.

I’m posting this message as I’ve just picked up a 100ml bottle on offer at Makeup. It smells like a Pakistani warehouse in the middle of winter, eating curry with bare feet wrapped in dark shoes and leather jackets, while the shop assistant explains: ‘No copy, original, same same’. I like distinct scents, but this… is very complex. I admit that as it dries down, it mutates abysmally: you go from hating it to liking it enough to want to project it again. I’ll use it to blend with others, although it’s quite invasive. Anyone who says it resembles One Million should know they need urgent surgery because they’re not getting enough air or some kind of neuronal crossing must be happening inside their head. It’s a matter of smelling it first; if you buy it blind, it might not suit you at all. Try giving it time. Before analysing it, because I tell you the dry-down is tremendous. Cheers.

I’m making my debut here as I just picked up a 100ml bottle on offer at Makeup. It smells like a Pakistani warehouse in the middle of winter eating curry with bare feet, wrapped in dark shoes and leather jackets, with the shop assistant shouting ‘No copy, original, same same!!!!!’. I like different scents but this… is very complex. I admit that in the dry-down it mutates abysmally: you go from hating it to liking it enough to want to project it again. I’ll use it for blending although it’s invasive. Anyone who says it resembles One Million should know they need urgent surgery, they’re not getting enough air or have a rare neural crossover. It’s a matter of smelling it first; if you buy it blind it might not suit you at all. Try giving it time. Before analysing it because the dry-down is tremendous. Cheers.

It’s a scent similar to the classic Ted Lapidus Pour Homme, but this one is sweeter, fruitier and more refined. I like its masculine and sweet aroma, quite singular, ideal for a cold or temperate evening; use it for a date or dinner. Be careful with sprays, it could be very strong, depending on each person. It leaves a pleasant aroma on clothes and lasts until the next day. I have it and would buy it again.

I bought this perfume for my husband years ago for the anniversary; it’s mid-range priced. It’s worth the investment because its aroma is very masculine and woody; I love it. He’s already on his third bottle, so you won’t regret it.

I’ve used it on cold days or at night; I don’t consider it for summer. At first it smells like insecticide; it’s mentholated and resinous, nothing like One Million as I’ve read. It’s an acceptable scent, a bit synthetic at the start. The trail is very soft; I feel it close to the skin, lasting 4 or 5 hours, projecting for a maximum of an hour if generous. For the price, I think there are better options, and even though in Chile it’s very economical. I wouldn’t buy it again.

At first, animalic and earthy notes reminiscent of Ted Lapidus. A brief trail of Black Soul Imperial (perhaps not the coffee). Then, dry, a non-cloying sweet, powdery and balanced. Follows the logic of 1 Million but smells different. I like it more than the other, better balanced and with a classic touch. Recommended.

At first, due to its animal and earthy notes (which give it a particular appeal), it reminds me of the classic Ted Lapidus Pour Homme (the one in the dull grey bottle); I also perceive, albeit very briefly, a certain common base with the Black Soul Imperial (I don’t think it’s the coffee). Then, in the dry-down, it leaves a sweet but not cloying scent, very pleasant and well-balanced in the sillage. Although it seems to follow a similar logic to the composition of 1 Million, it doesn’t resemble it in smell. Honestly, I like this one more than that one, because it’s better balanced and has a certain classic touch that makes it very interesting. Without a doubt, I recommend it.

First test in-store: cinnamon, incense and woods last 4 hours. Average projection. Although I hate that blend, here the incense fulfils its mystical role, ideal with leather or a suit. Not romantic, but distinctive. Not for everyone, try before you buy.

Black Soul fits perfectly: dense, resinous, dirty and animalic, yet with a fresh touch that saves it. Smells like a cheap leather jacket that’s rolled around in freshly cut grass.
MR.LOU
It smells sweet but outdated, slightly green, a heavy fragrance, especially if over-applied. It doesn’t resemble One Million at all as some claim. A disappointing fragrance.
MR.LOU
Sweet and dated, with something green. It’s a heavy fragrance; if you overdo the amount, it has nothing to do with 1 Million. A total disappointment.

At first, sweet musky toffee and minty. Then woods, and finally kitchen herbs like rosemary or laurel with a salty twist, I’m not sure why.
priethcallas
Starts with bergamot, mint and orange blossom. Hours later, sweet woods and a musky dry down. Not bad, but the Imperial is more interesting. Doesn’t smell like 1 Million; perhaps the mint confuses some. Lasts over 12 hours, clinging to the skin at the end. Moderate sillage. Fresh for winter.

Tested today: 1) Nothing to do with One Million! Now everything smells like that. 2) Black Soul Imperial is a thousand times superior, believe me. As honor1 says: ‘gentleman perfume’, but its sister Imperial is muuuuch better in every way, even in personality.
honor1
Gentleman Perfume: pleasant, sweet and fresh, not annoying at all. A wonder that girls love. Special for night or rainy days, a good ally for conquest.

Can’t find it to try, but I’d like it based on the notes. Without smelling it, I won’t risk it. Update: I tried it at El Corte Inglés in Barcelona and it passed without glory or shame; it said nothing to me.
