  • Oud, vanilla and a hint of rose. It reminds me of Oud Satin Mood from a distance; basically those are the three notes I detect. It seems less polished than the MFK, with something a bit harder (I’m not sure if due to the oud or lower quality/synthetic notes), whereas Satin is always more silky. Perhaps this Ted Lapidus performs less, but watch out: the Satin Extrait is a bomb and this Oud Blanc lasts a long time too.

I couldn’t stand it for even a day. I waited five months to get it back, and now that I have it, I absolutely love it and use it over and over again.

A top-tier fragrance in terms of scent, longevity and sillage, with a brutal quality-to-price ratio. Smells of dusty rose with saffron, very musky with a base of vanilla, woods and patchouli. Although marketed as unisex, in my opinion it is clearly feminine. It’s the refined, blindingly white counterpart to the house’s pitch-black Oud Noir, which is a dark fragrance bomb featuring leather, incense, smoke and a super-masculine oud. Oud Blanc isn’t for kids or twenty-somethings, watch out. Despite costing 20 quid, it demands character, sober style and a certain mature feminine bearing. Without smelling like a grandmother, it reminds me of the scent of some classic, mythical women’s fragrances from the last century by Guerlain or YSL. I picked it up blindly at Notino for its ridiculous price and purely to complete my collection with Ted Lapidus, one of my favourite brands, and after smelling it, I gifted it to my girlfriend. She was happier than a lark.
