I bought this in 30ml and it’s lovely. It reminds me of lotus flower: aquatic and mentholated, perfect for summer.

If you’re looking for ten-hour longevity, this is your choice: dry down is intense with strong projection. It opens citrusy, almondic and super minty, then jasmine joins in, making the whole scent more pleasant. Halfway through, the aquatic freshness fades while sweetness rises, keeping the jasmine but making it sweeter. In the final stage, woods, sugar and a hint of mint linger with the jasmine. It’s fresh yet very sweet; due to the intensity it can become cloying or overwhelming, so use it moderately, away from your nose. It’s rich, ideal for special occasions, dates or casual outings. I think it’s perfect for cool climates where the sweetness can shine. It carries the DNA of the original but is more intense, less aquatic, serious, elegant and sensual. I’m a fan of this Acqua di Gioia line by Armani, a brilliant collection for elegant, sensual, cheerful and happy women.

  • Last summer I was looking for something different, fresh but more complex than Light Blue or CK One… I came across this and bought it without thinking, it was what I was looking for for summer nights, it reminded me of a mojito: fresh, slightly sweet and with mint when dry. I was fascinated… until the pink pepper appeared and ended everything without mercy. That note and I are not compatible; although it’s in other perfumes I love, here it’s too noticeable our bad relationship. What a pity because it starts very well, the opening is rich and original, I use it very rarely and don’t enjoy it 🙁 once someone who enjoyed it very much was a little bird that wouldn’t let me alone and got tangled in my hair trying to reach my neck, what a fright! haha

  • Last summer I was craving something different from my usual freshies like Light Blue CK One or Clinique Happy… I stumbled upon this and bought it without a second thought: it was exactly what I was looking for to enjoy on summer evenings. It immediately reminded me of a mojito: fresh slightly sweet with a minty dry-down. I was fascinated… until the pink pepper note appeared and ruthlessly overshadowed all the others. That note and I simply don’t get along; even though it’s in other perfumes I adore here it is far too prominent in our bad relationship. What a shame because it starts so well with a rich and original opening. I wear it very rarely and don’t really enjoy it 🙁 Once a little bird enjoyed it so much it wouldn’t leave me alone getting tangled in my hair trying to reach my neck haha what a fright.

  • When I put it on, I feel an intense jasmine, like smelling it in the morning after rain; immediately the mint enters and the jasmine becomes sweeter as it dries. The trail left is like a mojito with lots of mint under a pergola of jasmine by the sea. On me it lasts and projects amazingly, and I always get compliments when I wear it.

  • I already loved the original, but this one is simply stunning. Upon testing, I noticed distinct differences: the original has more mint and lemon upfront, stronger and bitter, with aquatic notes; it feels fresher, younger, and more informal, perfect for summer. This Essenza is clean and fresh but with less pepper and citrus, featuring a sweeter, gentler mint. Then comes a very sugary jasmine. It’s more floral, with white flowers and a base of cedar and cashmere that adds a woody, woodsy, warm, and deep touch. It isn’t stronger than the original—it’s softer—but it lasts longer and leaves a more noticeable trail thanks to that woody foundation. It feels more serious, elegant, sophisticated, mature, sensual, and formal. While the original is youthful and informal for summer, this works beautifully in spring, summer, and autumn, day or night, for formal events or the office. The bottle has silver, blue, and green reflections, like a wild sea with strong swells crashing against cliffs… and yet, this scent leaves me calm and comforted.

  • If I already liked the original, I love this one even more. Upon testing it, I noticed differences: in the original, the mint and lemon of the opening are stronger, bitter and with aquatic notes; it’s fresher, younger and more informal, ideal for summer. This Essenza is equally clean and fresh, but with less pepper and citrus; the mint is sweeter. Then a very sugary jasmine emerges. It’s more floral, with white flowers and a base of cedar and cashmere that adds warmth and woody depth. It’s not more intense than the original, but softer, yet it lasts longer and projects better thanks to that woody base. It’s a serious, elegant, sophisticated, mature and sensual perfume. If the original is youthful and for summer, this one serves for spring, summer and autumn, day and night, events or formal work. The bottle has silver, blue and greeny reflections, like a wild sea from some cliffs… but the scent leaves me calm and comforted.

I love the original and this ‘Essenza’ version hasn’t disappointed me either. It follows the line of its predecessor: aquatic, mentholated, refreshing and energising. The longevity and sillage are brilliant, a perfect option for all year round. I love it for summer because it smells delicious without vanishing after 30 minutes like other fresh scents. It’s very casual and versatile.

I absolutely love the original, and this ‘Essenza’ version has not disappointed me either. It follows the line of its predecessor: it’s aquatic, with mentholated notes that are refreshing and energising. The longevity and trail are brilliant, making it a perfect all-year-round option. I adore it for summer because it smells delicious without being one of those freshies that fade in half an hour. It’s very casual and versatile.

  • I love the original, but I notice this version is unbalanced. The transitions between phases are blurred and it loses freshness, resulting in a heavier scent.

I recommend testing on skin before buying blindly. I hate that scent on my skin… ew. The blend of citrus, mint, and pepper felt utterly unbearable to me. I couldn’t wait to get it off my skin. Without a doubt, the worst in the line! They dared to discontinue the Sun, which is a wonder, and left this behind, a crime, a hideous monster of perfumery!

I recommend testing on skin first, don’t buy blindly. I hate that scent on my skin, ew! The mix of citrus, mint and pepper was an unbearable nightmare. I couldn’t wait to take it off. Without a doubt, the worst of the line. They dared to discontinue the Sun, which is a marvel, and left this one, a crime, a hideous monster of perfumery.

  • Oh, my God! A few days ago I wrote a review of Acqua di Gioia saying I didn’t know how to make it last longer on my skin, my favourite, and I spent anything on tricks with cream and vaseline. Finally, with this format I have the solution! I hope to get it soon, there are as many different opinions as in the original. I’m fascinated: some find it insipid, others heavy, and for me, a marvel. There isn’t a single impression and that’s what I love. I don’t know anyone here who wears it and it excites me; I feel it attracts glances, even from those who usually don’t like perfumes. Great that it exists in Essenza format!

  • I used it with pleasure, although eventually the mint note, very fresh and summery, wore me out a bit. It has good longevity.

  • The opening is powerful and bold: jasmine wrapped in spiced mint that shifts from sweet to bitter and back to sweet. I liked that duality, though it might cause the imbalance others mention. After 10 minutes, the intensity drops and it becomes a floral-sweet scent with jasmine taking charge, followed by elegant woody nuances. I agree with Remy: it’s softer than the original. What a pity, because for an Eau de Parfum Intense I expected 8-10 hours; on humid skin it barely lasts 6 and has poor projection. I love it for its elegance and daytime versatility, but the longevity and sillage don’t justify the price. I wear it for personal taste but wouldn’t buy it again; I prefer the original version.

  • The opening is powerful and bold: jasmine surrounded by spiced mint that shifts between sweet bitter and back to sweet. Perhaps this characteristic which I liked and seemed original creates that sense of imbalance someone mentioned. Between 5 and 10 minutes the power fades and it becomes a floral-sweet scent with jasmine taking the lead; only in the heart do the woody nuances emerge adding elegance and harmony. I agree with Remy: it is softer much more so than the original. Unfortunately for an Eau de Parfum Intense I expected at least 8-10 hours. On damp skin I barely managed 6 hours with weak projection. In summary I like it a lot it is elegant has interesting nuances can be worn all year round and is more suitable for daytime. But the intensity longevity and projection are lacking so the value for money doesn’t convince me. I keep it solely for personal enjoyment because it is pleasant but I wouldn’t buy it again; I still prefer the original version.

  • It’s madness; the mint note dominates everything, acidic and penetrating like pure menthol. It’s not my style; I’d take it off as soon as I showered, even though it lasts forever, which here is a flaw. Very disappointing.

  • It is extremely difficult to detect any note other than mint: it is acidic, overwhelming, almost like menthol, and incredibly penetrating. I rarely find a perfume that I dislike entirely, but here I could not wait to shower to wash it off after using it twice, and even afterwards, I could still smell it. It is extremely long-lasting, which, in this case, is a major drawback. A very poor perfume.
