Blue Talisman Extrait de Parfum by Ex Nihilo

Although it doesn’t show abyssal differences from the EDP, it feels darker and deeper, without ceasing to be Blue Talisman. I loved it! This week I used this in a decant I bought, and it’s the one that has received the most compliments; it was well-received among office colleagues and friends. Good projection and longevity of 8 to 12 hours depending on the climate or locations you expose yourself to. It feels more semi-formal, and I even feel it’s more suited for night outings than daytime ones, although it works perfectly during the day and in enclosed spaces; the EDP is more of a daytime scent. Scent: 10/10 (I like this version more than the EDP). Projection: 10/10. Longevity: 8/10. Total: 9.3. If I had to choose between this and the EDP, a thousand times the Extrait, but I still like both. However, owning both versions can become redundant because although they have differences, their DNA is very similar.

SPECTACULAR. If you already own Blue Talisman, getting this feels redundant. I’m speaking from my own perspective, so please don’t take offence. For me, it’s a vastly improved version. I liked the original Blue Talisman, but I didn’t love it; there was something about the opening that found me a bit histrionic and shrill, which didn’t quite convince me and took the desire out of wearing it. The dry-down improved things, though. Well, with the Extrait version, we essentially have Blue Talisman without that opening character. For me, they’ve perfected it, as it smells exactly the same, with a citrus/fruity opening featuring that fleshy, juicy pear that everyone adores, a heart even more floral if possible, with those exquisite white flowers, and yes, woods that are more prominent from the start in this new version and persist throughout the perfume’s life, leaving a dark, very creamy dry-down. They’ve perfected something that was already very good. On top of that, they’ve added longevity (not much, but something). For me, one of the best launches of 2025, and it goes straight into my Top 10 of the entire collection. Plus, it’s ultra-versatile: suitable for day, night, formal and informal occasions.
