  I bought this in January at Harrods, and the BTV Sapphire collection is truly a gem—masterpieces of perfumery. While I don’t own every scent, I took the best ones. I wanted Rose Sapph, but first I tried Carbon Sapph because Rose is for summer and felt pointless in winter. After wandering Harrods and sniffing both bottles, I chose Carbon. Perhaps the novelty helped, but Cristian Provenzano has created a masterpiece. I can’t analyse notes unless they’re obvious, but it doesn’t matter. To me, Carbon smells like a morning shopping trip at Harrods with my husband, his smile and my eyes shining with happiness. It evokes lunch, a stroll through Knightsbridge, and a five o’clock tea before a London show. It smells like an incredible day with the one I love most. It’s not about wearing the best perfume to impress; it’s about dressing from the heart with something you adore that becomes part of you. Yes, I wear luxury perfumes so I can stay in trainers at home. Like many fragrance lovers, I adore using them purely for my own enjoyment. If you try it, don’t hesitate. It’s very expensive, but if you buy it, it will claim a special place in your collection. Like good music, it grows more delightful with every use.
