Dior Homme Sport 2017 by Dior is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by François Demachy. The top notes unfold blood orange, grapefruit, lemon, and pear; the heart reveals pink pepper, geranium, and nutmeg; while the base notes settle on sandalwood and vetiver.

  • Although I am not an expert, I have just confirmed that it is my best purchase, especially as it is the first of a high-level perfume. I have to admit that I initially hesitated between the Aqua di Giò by Bulgari, but in the end, I decided on this one, a great choice. I barely tested it at home, and people immediately came to compliment me. This perfume must be used with moderation due to its strength; it can be overpowering. It is citrusy and potent, for those who do not want to go unnoticed and feel confident in themselves.

I can’t believe it – I’m the first to review this perfume and it smells absolutely delicious! I’m a woman and I’m not sure what kind of fixative it has for a man’s skin, but I simply love the scent.

  • I was gifted a sample with a previous purchase and used it all day today. It has an intense citrus opening that warms up and becomes spiced over time, finishing with a very elegant woody vetiver. It works for day and night; although it’s sporty, it feels elegant enough for any occasion and any season. I see it as very versatile. Longevity is moderate to high with good sillage for the first two hours, after which it becomes skin-scented.

  • I was gifted a sample with a previous purchase and used it all day today. It is a fragrance with an intense citrus opening that becomes warm and spicy over time, finishing with a very elegant woody vetiver. It can be worn day or night; although it is sport, it feels elegant for any occasion and suits any season. I see it as very multifaceted. Longevity is moderate to high with good sillage for the first two hours, then it becomes a skin scent.

  • As its name suggests, it is the sport version, and honestly, it succeeds more than the 2012 one. It smells citrusy and clean with a soft, elegant woody base. Ideal for spring, summer, and autumn, both for the office and for sport. I do not like the Dior Homme line at all, nor its famous iris, so here it is absent. It is like the Chanel Allure Sport but with fewer metallic notes, softer, although the longevity and projection are equally good. In that line, I prefer the ultra-natural and organic ‘Cedrat Enivrant’ by Atelier, but I would use this Dior Homme Sport without hesitation.

  • They have vulgarised a good perfume. Not a trace of the cedar, ginger, or iris from the second edition. Before, it was elegant and had sophistication thanks to its woody dry-down that took it away from common citrus. Now, the priority is to give it a wild aromatic touch and move it to a more ‘casual’ terrain, where much of the public adores it, to the detriment of its quality.

  • April 2017: A beautiful fragrance that follows the trail of the Sport series with hardly any changes. This DHS edition is closer to the original 2008 version than the 2012 one, which I am very glad about, as they have left out the iris that didn’t fit the Sport concept well. The opening is citrusy but more restrained, without that explosion of lemon, grapefruit, and bergamot from 2008, though it feels natural and of good quality. The spices give it a slightly muted scent, and that ginger brightness from the first version is missing. Then it becomes a little powdery, but very little, nothing like the iris or the 2012 version, perhaps due to the geranium. In the end, it is woody with a rich vetiver. In summary, it is a very high-quality proposal, as is customary with Dior Homme, suitable for any season, although I prefer it in summer. It is versatile, for day or night. Despite being called Sport, it has a natural, timeless touch of elegance that is a delight. The scent of a clean, neat but simple man, who doesn’t follow trends but prefers what endures. Well done, Dior! Longevity: excellent. Sillage: noticeable. Best regards.

Brilliant Dior! I wanted the 2008 version back, which was my favourite, as the 2012 one didn’t please me much, and I started using the Dior Cologne from 2013 which I love too. This DHS version is very similar to the 2008 one, lacking the ginger that stood out so much in that version, but I feel it’s almost identical when comparing it to a full mini bottle I still have of the 2008 version.

  • Common aroma, not worth reviewing, doesn’t seem like Dior. So much so that I liked its Sport versions… they went from bad to worse.

  • Pleasant surprise! I recently acquired a 125ml bottle of this fantastic Dior fragrance. I’m interested in it to give you an idea of what it reflects; pay attention to its advertising with Robert Pattinson in this Sport 2017 version: it looks elegant, majestic, yet like a sporty-seductive man. In its opening, you notice citrus and spice, and in its dry-down, it gains elegance thanks to its woody notes. I would define it as an ideal youthful fragrance for sports, although its use is versatile, suitable for both the office and daily wear. The ideal season would be spring-summer, although in my country it’s winter and I still use it and it works perfectly. Personally, I love its scent and highly recommend it to those thinking of getting it and undecided. It’s worth highlighting that its longevity and trail are notable on my skin, moderate to almost heavy; if you spray a single mist on clothes, you’ll smell the fragrance for 3 or 4 days. Bravo to Dior, a gem!

Dior Homme Sport 2017 retains some of the 2012 version, particularly the citrus aspect; barely noticeable changes in the first hour. However, I miss the ginger and iris charge of the 2012, as this new version seems more monotonous and common. The opening citrus notes are pleasant and invite you to keep enjoying them, but after an hour, the scent becomes quite generic. I’m not saying it’s bad; I’m sure many will like it, but personally, I prefer the 2012 with that citrus-creamy touch. This new one is more woody, but it’s a matter of taste. Longevity: around 8 hours on my skin with regular projection.

Dior Homme Sport 2017 retains some characteristics of the 2012 version, especially the citric part; in fact, in the first hour, I barely notice changes between versions. However, I miss the ginger and iris load of the 2012; the new version feels more monotonous and common. The opening citrus notes are pleasant and attractive, but after an hour, the scent becomes quite generic. I’m not saying it’s bad; indeed, I doubt many won’t like it, but personally, I preferred the 2012 version with that citric-creamy touch. This new one is more woody, but it’s a matter of taste. Its longevity was about 8 hours on my skin with regular projection.

  • Dior perfumes always smell of quality, and this is no exception: a very good grapefruit scent. For now, it reminds me of CK One and L’EAU d’Issey, perfumes I can’t stand due to the synthetic nature of one and the sharpness of the other, but this is better balanced and its notes feel higher quality, very wearable. The problem is that it’s just another citrus with nothing standout; with any other cheaper citrus you’re covered, say Versace Pour Homme, Acqua di Gio, Montblanc Starwalker, L’EAU d’Issey, and countless others. Its trail is very low, projecting only for the first hour and lasting 4 to 6 hours. I’d recommend buying it if money isn’t an issue; it adds a bit of quality, but there’s no big difference; with any other affordable citrus, you could do without this.

There’s plenty of citrus, and throughout the day, a hint of sandalwood emerges. It smells classy, somewhere between pure sophistication and casual wear. I struggle to adapt it to bermudas and a T-shirt, so I’ve worn it all summer, every day. It’s a champion in the ‘elegant sport’ category, but it falls short compared to other citrus scents with aquatic or salty notes that pair it with shorts and trainers. I find it hard to let go, though I could see myself wearing it. My score is close to seven beans: mid-table in my collection.

  • Edu Lezana

Dior Homme Sport from 2008 was superb: rich, dense, and with a sublime Mediterranean nuance. After several reformulations, I find this 2017 version more citric, more watery, and, if I may say, more generic. Does it smell good? Yes. Is it versatile? Yes. Does it last? No. This Sport flanker has lost strength and distinction with every change. It still smells nice; I consider Demachy a great perfumer, but I suppose the man adapts to Dior’s demands, cutting corners on ingredients, loading up on synthetics, and charging a fortune. Sniff, sniff… the damn reformulations.

  • Very citric opening and high quality. It’s not as sharp as similar scents and feels elegant within its sport range. After an hour, it settles on the skin and radiates just enough, becoming slightly rounder and creamier. By two hours, it’s only noticeable if you press your nose right up to it; the citrus has almost vanished, leaving a subtle trail. The dry-down is abrupt and dies by three hours, so I’m not sure if it delivers; I didn’t get the chance to wear it properly. Despite the lovely scent, I can’t recommend it due to its poor performance. The price is exorbitant for what it is. The bottle and atomiser are excellent, as with other Dior releases.

  • If it smells good, the short answer is it doesn’t last. I’m afraid to say Dior has done a terrible job with this fragrance; its performance is awful. I have the 2012 version, which far outlasts this one, leaving me feeling disappointed and unable to recommend it. It vanishes in three hours, reminding me of Chanel’s Blue.

  • Edu Lezana

Right, correcting oneself is a sign of wisdom. After wearing it for several days, I’d say it has better performance than I initially thought. Perhaps it improves with the heat. It sits well on clothes and lasts for days; the base is creamy and sweet. It’s not as dense as the original 2008 version, but it gains character with the warmth and I wear it very comfortably. It has improved on my first impression: creamy with good performance.

  • I don’t know the versions prior to this 2017 release, so I can’t compare. On my skin, it performs very well; in fact, over the months I’ve noticed it improves (perhaps like fine wine). It lasts all day at work with moderate projection. What I like most is the naturalness of its ingredients: the opening citrus notes are very realistic (it reminds me of Chanel’s Edition Blanche) and the dry down is elegant and creamy. It’s versatile: in summer or spring, it suits work or relaxed outings. In short, it’s a very worthy member of the Dior Homme family (when I can, I want to try the Dior Homme Cologne, which you all speak so highly of).

  • I don’t know the versions prior to this 2017 one, so I cannot compare. On my skin, it performs very well. In fact, as months pass, I notice the performance gets better and better (I don’t know if some perfumes need to settle like good wines). It easily lasts a whole workday with moderate projection. What I love is the naturalness of its ingredients: the citrus in the opening is very realistic (it reminds me of the excellent Chanel Edition Blanche) and the following aroma is very elegant and creamy. Moreover, it is versatile; in summer or spring it is perfectly usable at work or for relaxed outings. In summary, a very worthy member of the Dior Homme family (when I can, I feel like sniffing out the Dior Homme Cologne, of which you speak marvels…).

  • I have already acquired and used this fragrance. On a hot day… the truth is… I did like it, but if I overused the sprays, I applied nearly 15 and stopped smelling it after 5 hours. I don’t mind overusing because I have several fragrances and won’t use it daily. But if you only have a few, better not to buy it, because you will finish it very quickly and it is cheap. It smells good; at first, a sharp lemon comes out, but afterwards it feels like a sweet, pleasant lemon. I recommend it provided you have many fragrances and don’t use it daily. Otherwise, buy about 5 bottles of Nautica Voyage; that one lasts longer. MiaSanMia.

  • I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Dior Homme Eau For Men came to ‘replace’ the original Dior Homme Sport. They smell very similar. While Dior Homme (2017), which smells very good, should have been named differently as it lacks iris, which is the characteristic note of the Dior Homme line.

  • It is a delightful perfume. It sums it all up: it is sporty but not the typical summer fragrance; it elevates your class, putting you a rung higher. I prefer this to the previous one. The lack of iris, a characteristic of Dior Homme, makes it the most masculine. Don’t get me wrong: Dior Homme Intense is one of the best, but its opening in the first few minutes gives it a very feminine touch. Once a couple of minutes have passed, wow, what an exquisite lotion. This skips the feminine side and becomes something sexy. The best of Dior, the best sport version available. It is that perfume to wear with a white shirt, something elegant. 100% recommended.

This fragrance is undoubtedly my favourite in the Dior Homme family. The opening is very citrusy, with a sharp aroma of lemon and grapefruit; I can’t detect the blood orange, but sandalwood is slightly noticeable deep down. After an hour, the sharp citrus fades and sandalwood with vetiver and nutmeg becomes apparent. Despite criticisms about its longevity, on my skin it lasts over 12 hours with heavy projection from application until 5-6 hours. Then projection becomes moderate from the sixth hour onwards, staying close to the skin after 12 hours without degrading. Currently it is winter in my city (max 20°C) and this is its performance; I suppose it will drop drastically in summer due to sweat, but I hope projection improves. It is perfect for a casual office Friday and in the evening for a special dinner or coffee. If you need more projection later in the day, two sprays reactivate the fragrance.

  • Smelling Blue and DHS now, I realise they share an air, being similar in certain aspects. Checking the notes, I saw they share many things. I bought it on a whim, wanting to own it at all costs. But half a bottle I’d say I wouldn’t buy again. The reason is longevity: literally, I shower and can’t smell it, although in hot days it stands out best. I like Dior, I like the scent, but longevity is the flaw. The price-per-spray ratio isn’t the best.

  • Honestly, I didn’t like this Dior; the older versions smell better. This one is subtler, less citrusy, with shorter longevity, less projection, and without mentioning its cost. There are many sportier Diors, such as Sauvage or Dior Homme Cologne. This new version smells somewhat like Lacoste Pour Homme, though Lacoste is superior. In this 2017 version, there was a lack of citrus and sporty punch to be versatile; perhaps it suits a young man under twenty. It is for summer and spring due to its softness. If it is sensual, I admit it, but it falls well below my criteria for a Dior. I only manage to perceive half the notes.

  • Sergiomerida959595

The opening on skin is a natural lemon blast that fades gradually; the lemon is super acidic and fresh, not creamy. As it settles, it fades quickly. I detect nutmeg just before the lemon disappears, very softly. It projects the lemon opening well, but afterwards only clean, natural sandalwood remains. If you are a fan of linear fragrances with few notes, this is an unsweetened lemonade. Longevity 5 hours, projection 45 minutes. Very clean, ideal for indoor office wear with formal attire. Good ingredient quality but poor performance, only the opening holds up.

  • Bought it without testing in summer 2018-2019 and first wore it in 2019-2020. It’s citrusy with a bitter touch initially, which later balances with woods, ginger, and spicy notes. It attempts to give that powdery sensation of its older brother, Homme Eau for Men, but fails. It settles as a conventional, elegant citrus without taking risks. My 2017 batch lasts 4h30 on skin, with moderate trail and projection for 45-60 minutes before fading. Due to poor performance, I used a third of the 75ml bottle in just 15 days of holiday, simply from reapplying. Scent: 8.25. Versatility: 7.5. Ideal for spring and summer. Longevity: 5. Doesn’t last long on skin and clothes. Projection: 4. Trail: 4. Value for money: 6.

  • Smells like an arrogant type trying to project class due to a lack of talent. Sounds like someone who could have pulled off a classic Dior Homme but lacks personality.

  • A disappointing perfume; I expected much more given the reputation of the other Dior Homme flankers. In my opinion, it’s a scent that smells nice but doesn’t stand out. This eau de toilette is a whisper; you have to wear it many times for others to notice. It smells pleasant but isn’t worth the price. Longevity: moderate to low. Sillage: low. Value for money: I wouldn’t pay its price; there are better fragrances like Mancera’s Aoud Lemont Mint.

  • A citrus, spiced fragrance with woody touches, somewhat linear but elegant. It has a very well-executed citrus opening, without being explosive or abrasive, nothing like the brash bergamot of other summer citrus scents. The heart phase arrives quickly, marked by spices yet remaining refreshing with the orange and grapefruit, all wrapped in a woody and creamy aura that gives it body. This is the direction it takes until the dry-down, with nutmeg and sandalwood as the culprits. Moderate longevity; projection is good for the first hour before gradually becoming more personal. Not bad for a ‘Sport’, but it falls short of winter/autumn performance. Its correct use is summer with heat to enhance it. It has an elegant imprint, is casual and fits in formal settings, offering distinction without losing versatility. Having not tried the previous versions that are praised, I understand the criticisms, as the note that anchors the collection is iris and ginger was also a great loss; they made DH Sport a fragrance on par with the rest of the line. Now it is a common aroma, good but not one you associate with the collection. As they like to fiddle with these Dior releases so much, a revision would be welcome to return DHSport to a less peripheral place in the collection.

  • A perfume that leaves much to be desired; I expected far more given the reputation of the other Dior Homme flankers. In my humble opinion, it is a fragrance that smells nice but is not standout. This eau de toilette is a whisper; you need many sprays for others to notice it. It is rich but not worth the cost. Longevity: moderate to low. Sillage: low. Value for money: I would not pay its price; there are better fragrances such as Mancera’s Aoud Lemont Mint.

  • Citrusy, curiously it sometimes smells like lemon floor cleaner (like Maestro Limpio in Mexico), a ‘creamy’ citrus aroma. Although soft, it can become irritating if you over-spray. The dry-down is fairly linear (on my skin) and feels like wearing artificial lemon. Recommended for those who like sweet (artificial) citrus. UPDATE: After six months without using it, I wore it today and in warm spring weather it became more bearable, but it projects nothing beyond personal space. Longevity on me is 4-5 hours (inside an office). DO NOT BUY without testing it first…

  • How can they murder such an elegant and versatile fragrance? How can they replace good perfumes and sell them in the same bottle? This is undoubtedly the worst atrocity I have experienced with reformulations. This version smells nice, but it lacks something the previous one had, and that is… well, the other was perfect.

  • Well, nothing more than that. You can tell the quality of the scent, but it’s nothing that turns heads. In my opinion, what stands out most is the blood orange, the pear, and the pink pepper. It lacks strength; once those notes disappear, there’s no trace left. It projects well for the first hour with the mentioned notes, then clings to the skin for 3-4 hours before finally fading. I recommend trying it on skin before buying, unless it’s a good price.

  • At first, I didn’t like it; the orangey grapefruit reminded me of bubblegum, bringing to mind Polo Blue Sport but without that shaving cream aroma. The pink pepper is almost imperceptible but has a kick. Then that bubblegum fades, and slowly the light wood scent emerges. After an hour, it just smells of that wood, delicious; I’d love to know what wood it is, as I’ve smelled several perfumes with that same note. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? It’s not similar to the other men’s scents. This is less childish than the Cologne and less serious than the Homme. It lasts a minimum of 8 hours; if you apply it to your head, it lasts until you shower.

  • Erik Obiol

I bought it because the scent caught my attention immediately. With wear, I’ve come to like it even more; it’s a spring-like freshness, woody yet fresh at the same time, very masculine for being so fresh, which I appreciated. I did something curious: I wore it on a trip in the morning, and after six hours, it was gone. We were heading to dinner, arrived at the hotel, didn’t have time to dress, and only took Dior Homme Intense, applying it over this. As it dried, I sensed the notes of this perfume underneath and loved the effect. This for the day and the other for the night.

  • Theangel2002

I was looking for the 2021 batch, but my wife gifted me this 2017 edition. Note that these are two different perfumes: the 2021 is a citrus bomb that captivates and lasts forever; I tried it in a decant and it’s incredible. This 2017 version is a sweet, playful citrus. I wore it yesterday for my birthday and enjoyed it immensely; that spicy citrus dry-down is madness, it smells delicious. I was surprised it lasted nearly 8 hours at 10 degrees, full winter in the southern cone. I loved it, will use it a lot, and look forward to seeing how it performs in spring. Would I recommend it? Yes, definitely. If you’re after the citrus bomb, go for the 2021, which I’ll buy when I run out of this. The 2017 is sweeter, likely due to the pear and nutmeg. I loved it.

What more could you ask for from this gem? It is one of the greatest citrus scents in history, a true masterpiece by Dior. Super versatile: perfect for everyday wear, the office, or a wedding, be it formal or informal. An absolute wonder. 10/10
