Imari Seduction 2015 by Avon

Bought it blind and it didn’t quite convince me at first; it smelled like incense, which isn’t listed in the notes. After five minutes, I started to like it more, though it’s still a strange scent for me. I’d recommend it to women aged 25 and up; it doesn’t feel youthful to me.

I’m on an olfactory journey through the Imari fragrances. I’ve had this flanker for a while and added Corset and Rouge yesterday. All three are brilliant; although they share notes, on my skin this one is the softest and perhaps has the lowest persistence, but within Avon perfumes, these last the longest. I find it very vanilla-forward: a soft vanilla that lingers as it dries down, with a fruity opening and floral notes settling in. I agree that, as an Eau de Toilette, they have an imposing presence. On my skin, it’s the most wearable for daytime. It’s very rich; I recommend it. I’d love to try the Elixir and Fantasy, which are no longer available in Argentina.

Very rich Eau de Toilette. The opening is fresh and fruity, then it leaves a sweet and floral trail. It lasts very little, not reaching two hours, but it is a toilet water. I expected at least three or four hours.

It arrived in Argentina and I ordered it without thinking, believing it would convince me more than the Corset, but it didn’t. It lacks sillage and only the plum is noticeable at first, then comes the typical Imari floral and the oriental base. I feel it’s a blend of notes from other Avon perfumes: plums from Secret Fantasy, orchids from Rare Flowers, and the base from Sparkling Attitude. Is it pleasant? Yes. Is it outside the norm? No, it’s versatile and sensual without being extravagant. Ideal for daily wear if you feel sexy without needing to shout about it. It’s sweet but not cloying. Of the three Imaris I own, Fantasy is the one I like most for longevity and sillage. I wouldn’t buy it again. It accentuates the seductive attitude of the wearer, but doesn’t create it if you don’t have it. Edited after nearly two months: longevity and sillage are so low that I’ve already used three-quarters of the bottle. I hope to finish it without buying another or gifting it to someone who likes it.

I like it, but it doesn’t completely enchant me. I find it slightly ‘honeyed’ (it has no honey, but on my skin it smells like it). I own several Imaris and this is the one that lasts the least on my skin and the one I’m least attracted to; perhaps it just feels very simple. It’s sweet, although I think Fantasy is even sweeter, also honeyed but different and I prefer it. Imari Seduction is rich but I can’t distinguish its notes well; I think I’ve had a similar one before. As I’m used to sweet fragrances, it doesn’t generate novelty for me. I’m not sure if I’ll repurchase it as I like it but had higher expectations. Seeing the packaging and name, I imagined something more complex, attractive, and sensual. It’s very feminine, but I don’t feel that mystery I was looking for. Imari Corset is similar but has something that makes it more complex and seductive. Imari Elixir is the most seductive, a sweet bomb with a smoky touch that makes it different, very rich and intriguing. Elixir has that mystery and attraction expected from a feminine and sensual perfume. I think this one might appeal to most women looking for sweet scents. I’d use it more in fresh daytime weather because it doesn’t last on my skin. At night, I’d have to reapply a lot, although I suspect with many sprays it could become overwhelming. In short, it smells very good, but to my taste it doesn’t drive me wild and I’d wish it fixed better.

Very rich indeed! It doesn’t smell like a catalogue; it’s hugely enjoyable.

It’s a fairly intense and strong perfume, made for adult women.
