J’Adore L’Or by Dior

Bought it blind without a tester, and wow, the risk was worth it. Luckily I grabbed the small size because it’s quite potent. If you don’t absolutely crave jasmine and neroli (though it’s not listed on the label, I believe it is), don’t buy it. Ugh, upon spraying it’s a floral slap in the face that lingers for almost the entire day. I had to layer it with Miss Dior Essence and Poison Girl to soften it, as it was suffocating on my skin. It’s a matter of taste, of course. They call it a miracle here, but on me, it was very intense. Definitely try before you buy.

A modern floral and top-tier choice for fresh days. The jasmine stands out, sweet, accompanied by an amber base. Rich essences for a rich fragrance. I see it as very feminine. The longevity is excellent and the trail is moderate. I love perfumes with jasmine, and here it is harmonious and nocturnal. I don’t detect the rose, but the amber reinforced with labdanum gives it a sophisticated touch. Ideal for formal events, engagement dinners, or night out. For everyday wear, it’s a waste (in my opinion). It’s perfect for gifting or for a confident woman who knows what she wants.

The first one my now-husband gave me; it’s a jewel. It lasts over 15 hours with just two sprays and you’ll dazzle at a meeting. It’s formal, elegant, a delight, and the packaging is gorgeous. The scent changes throughout the day, it’s enchanting. Exquisite.

Delicious. It’s different from J’adore; I expected a boosted J’adore, but it’s something wonderful. It’s intense because it’s a pure essence, the crème de la crème, and I love that Dior lets us try it or buy it at a reasonable price. You can immediately detect the tonka bean, amber, and vanilla, then the rose, jasmine, and French labdanum appear. It evolves slowly, softening until it leaves a trail of vanilla and patchouli. In terms of longevity and trail, I feel it falls short of expectations, but it’s good or superior to many. It lasted 5-7 hours with two sprays, which is sufficient. It’s a mature, refined, talc-like scent, suitable for women over 30 because it’s intimidating, luxurious, opulent, and special. In summary, it’s an excellent fragrance, but given the price of the 40ml bottle and its longevity, perhaps it’s not the best purchase.

This is a masterpiece with a capital M. So refined with a quality far superior to other J’Adores and it doesn’t resemble any of them. It’s very distinct it doesn’t smell soapy or fresh and it’s not for summer heat (only for evening wear). It’s a very sexy and addictive floral; the vanilla is warm and there’s absolutely nothing synthetic about it a wonder. You can tell it’s made with natural ingredients. I adore this perfume; it’s my second favourite (for now). It lasts much longer than 12 hours on the skin and over a week on clothes. I only hope they don’t discontinue it. Magnificent floral with an oriental touch a 10 out of 10.

They say it’s made with high-quality raw materials and that the rose and jasmine petals are hand-picked, and you can tell when you smell it. For me, the original J’adore never worked; it was overwhelming, as they’d say in English: ‘too much’. However, L’Or is pure luxury, pure gold as its name suggests. It’s warm and its amber is the typical Dior one, reminding me of the original old Dune, that creamy, talc-like amber that decorates the bouquet of roses and jasmine. It’s simply delicious. My husband liked it quite a bit, and when I say quite a bit, I mean quite a bit. It’s not the typical romantic perfume; it’s feminine, yes, but on another scale: wild, sensual, and sexy. It’s a dense scent (almost eighties) but not suffocating, long-lasting, and not just for personal enjoyment but for those around you because it provokes, without scandals but it provokes. Contrary to the ‘experts’, for me it’s the best of the J’Adores. I’m happy to have it and my husband is even happier.

Light with a pleasant amber touch warm yet not overwhelming a good balance between florals and fruits… it can be worn all year round; it’s a very intimate and subtle scent. I’d never dare to wear it myself as it would always remind me of my mother.
