The first spray is an absolute bomb: black pepper at full strength, identical to Jesús Del Pozo’s Arabian Nights Private Collection Woman. Although the notes don’t list oud, I swear you can smell it, and since I hate it, the opening isn’t to my taste. After 10-15 minutes, it settles into a beautiful rose on leather; the dry down is muted patchouli and rose. The longevity is eternal and the projection is excellent. Ideal for daytime outdoor outings or nights in airy venues. In the dry down, after two hours, it’s perfect for intimate encounters. It’s unisex and will earn you compliments, but you need to get used to the scent; a sample on the wrist doesn’t give you any idea of how fantastic it is. I don’t know how anyone calls it ‘grandma’s smell’; it’s exceptional, modern, and has zero vintage vibes.

Quality and projection are top-notch. It opens with a spicy, red fruit note, I believe fig. Then it explodes into leather and rose, absolutely fascinating. It smells like an undeclared ingredient, perhaps oud, or a fusion of notes. It’s a dirty, animalic accord with a brutally realistic rose, drying down to patchouli. Definitely one of my favourites from Les Absolus d’Orient, right up there with Cuir Intense.

Definitely one of my favourites from Les Absolus d’Orient, alongside Cuir Intense.

This is pure glory! It requires patience, but the performance is well worth it. It leaves an enveloping trail with brutal projection. A fine, balsamic, slightly sweet patchouli, beautifully integrated. When you pass, people turn around; I’ve been asked about it several times on the street.
