L’Interdit Burning Neroli by Givenchy

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well. Today I’m sharing my experience with this fragrance. For those who read me, you’ll know I’m a big admirer of the L’Interdit line and feel comfortable wearing them. I live in Argentina and not all their flankers make it here, but this special edition did arrive and is still available. First of all, I was surprised. I expected something more citrusy and ethereal, but I found a fragrance with quite a bit of body. On my skin, it opens floral, clean and sweet, something I didn’t expect and which I liked even more. Despite the sweetness, it has no gourmand reminiscence. A few seconds in I notice something green, which I interpret as the flower stem; it’s not in the forefront but it’s noticeable. I’d like to highlight that, although it’s not declared, besides the neroli it contains neroli like the rest of the line, which I love. As it dries down, a woody nuance emerges, probably due to the vetiver, which blends organically with the sweet florals and takes centre stage, softening the floral character a bit. Regarding the controversial name, at first I didn’t see the point, but with wear I notice its warm and slightly smoky side, though ‘fiery’ seems excessive to me. It’s versatile: I’d enjoy it all year round, but it would go very well in spring, autumn and mild summer days, day or night. Perhaps for dates too, because that vetiver with florals gives it an interesting sensual side. In terms of longevity and projection, it’s not a bomb, but depending on the day it has lasted 6 to 7 hours for me: moderate to high for the first hour, then a medium sillage, and the last two hours soft but perceptible. In short, it’s extremely pleasant and versatile. The truth is, although I knew I’d like it, I didn’t imagine I’d love it so much. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Greetings from Argentina.

I find it similar to Neroli Portofino and Classique Pin Up, except this one isn’t gourmand. It’s a slightly fresh neroli, ideal for spring/summer and daytime wear. It has excellent longevity. If you like neroli or baby perfumes, buy it blind without fear. But if you’re looking for something similar to the L’Interdit family, I’d recommend trying it before buying.

I adore the L’Interdit line; I have five of them and they’re all hits, but this 2023 version wasn’t for me. I don’t recommend buying it blind as it strays far from its predecessors. It seems like a linear scent to me: all I notice is neroli and more neroli. Although it’s not listed on the pyramid, I smell a very subtle neroli, but it gets overshadowed by such a heavy load of neroli. The vetiver is also imperceptible; I think it gets diluted. It’s linear because only the neroli stands out. If you like that note, it could be your option, but for me it won’t be because the longevity disappoints me; the whole line lasts more than 8 hours on my skin and this one didn’t even reach three. In summary, it’s a linear perfume with lots of neroli and poor longevity.
