Something is wrong between me and this fragrance. Unlike others that twist on my skin, this is a disaster. The opening is shrill, as if it were a mosquito with those ultrasonic zappers. It smells of dry sweat and burnt rubber; I don’t know if it’s the cumin’s fault, but I can’t believe it was intentional. It lasts a couple of minutes, like a defence mechanism against gourmands. Then it settles: a creamy, meringue-like sweetness with nutty nuances, offering peace and comfort, but it evaporates quickly. It’s a tormented relationship: a tender hug after a tantrum and a slap on the head. I think I drew the short straw from the bag, bad luck, but I envy you all because I’m sure others adore it.

I couldn’t resist a second-hand deal and picked it up in 30ml, nearly full. It wasn’t a love at first sniff, but the more I wear it, the more I like it. It’s a gourmand, yet not cloying, like a chestnut or nut dessert. On my skin, it smells lovely, sweet but not overpowering, creamy and slightly powdery. I love scents that step out of the ordinary, and this is one of them. Unfortunately, the performance on my skin is poor, so I’m glad I caught it on offer.

Bought this blind with great anticipation, hoping for the advertised notes, but it was nothing like the description. As soon as it arrived, it vanished… it smelled of honey and flowers, not a thing that was promised.
