Parfum d’Habit smells absolutely fantastic. The patchouli and leather blend perfectly with sparkling redcurrants over a bed of sweet amber. The patchouli is earthy and dry, giving the leather a powdery touch that becomes soft as sweet suede; I love it, it’s unique and very original. It smells very vintage but doesn’t feel dated; it’s super elegant and, although it doesn’t seem so, reminds me of the initial drying phase of the old Hermès Bel Ami. I’ve never tried the old version, which people say was watered down, but I do notice the projection is almost light, which I didn’t like. Otherwise, an original olfactory masterpiece dedicated to patchouli. Rating: 8.5

Parfum d’Habit is a fragrance with an excellent scent. Patchouli and leather in perfect harmony with sparkling blackcurrants over a bed of sweet amber. The patchouli is earthy and dry, lending a powdery feel to the leather that results in something soft as sweet suede; I love it, it’s unique and very original. The scent is very old-school, but it doesn’t feel dated; it’s very elegant and, although it doesn’t resemble it, reminds me of the initial dry-down of the old Hermès Bel Ami. I mean, I never tried the older version, which they say has now been watered down, and regarding this, I do feel the projection is almost light, which I didn’t like. I confess I tried this fragrance after its reformulation, alongside the bottle and box redesign that happened a few years ago. It’s a completely different scent, where the standout is that blend of leather with earthy patchouli, geranium and sandalwood. The smell is very bold, but in a positive way, and utterly fascinating. For me, it’s one of the best leathers I’ve ever tried. That said, I suppose thanks to the reformulation, the sillage is very low at first and the longevity, unfortunately, is very short; on my skin it doesn’t last more than 3-4 hours, and I swear I’m generous. From the start, it feels nothing dense. Still, highly recommended to try it as an olfactory experience. In this regard, I rate it a masterpiece.
