Rеve d’Infini by Lalique

I tried this fragrance and I liked it. Basically the delicacy and balance of Lalique scents are here. It is not a loud perfume but it is submissively cheerful and jovial. The fresh and sweet opening settles into a fragrance where peach takes centre stage. Sometimes the freesia accent peeks through, other times the sweet jasmine. After two hours this mix of fruits and sweets begins to give way to a creamier and warmer vanilla phase until musky sandalwood remains after about four hours. Interesting evolution always declaring a very feminine and loving fragrance. In the opening phase it reminds me of Oriens, in the middle phase of Rêve, both by Van Cleef. Its dynamic is interesting, its balance perfect, the feeling of feminine and loving perfume holds without too much projection. Intimate and pleasant, it is a perfume that definitely came to stay.

Rêve d’Infini (translated: Dream of infinity) is a particularly surprising fragrance. Honestly I had pretty low expectations, expecting a ghostly and almost transparent scent, however I admit it pleasantly surprised me. Rêve d’Infini delivers a very feminine, extremely feminine scent, a French and virtually retro femininity, it literally smells like a freshly made-up woman but not in any grotesque possible interpretations. It starts with a fruity opening, very lively and tremendously juicy, lychee shows with overwhelming clarity and realism. Soon intense dusty breezes of freesia and musk emerge in industrial quantities, essentially identical to the scents of exfoliating creams, make-up powders and other cosmetic products. At the end of the evolution, a light sweetened rose emerges accompanying woody and citrus veins. I detect no peach, vanilla or jasmine. I won’t lie, Rêve d’Infini has a very pleasant scent, it is juicy, vivid, cheerful and luminous, however it is also light and moderate, it is not a fragrance capable of overwhelming anyone or anything (which, I assume, was the goal). If cynically demanding, it can be compared to strawberry juice with a bit of lipstick, if tried with enthusiasm it can be very comforting. It is an unusually fresh and perhaps even tart fragrance, it is completely alien to the oriental, the animalic, the spicy or the caramelised; however it is precisely fruity and powdery. I take the liberty to wonder what the “poetic” sense this fragrance could have had, since for a fragrance based on the dreamlike lyricism of infinity, it does not exude originality nor is it an out-of-this-world scent, at most out of a varied perfume assortment. In short, Rêve d’Infini presents itself broader than other Lalique proposals (which are usually designed to please well-defined tastes and/or demographics), it is not a fragrance currently categorisable as youthful but it also does not recall heavy orientals, thick florals or animalic and greasy perfumes carelessly dismissed by new buyers. Whether because it shares visual design with Living Lalique or because it immensely exceeded my expectations, I insist it could have worked more efficiently conceptually. It is a moderate fragrance, it will become intense if over-applied, it has a rather reproachable longevity and if talking about times and seasons, I do not recommend it in cold or dry climates.

In my opinion, Lalique fragrances can be placed on the same shelf as those by Cartier and Boucheron. They share refinement, intelligence and bottles of incredible, exquisite beauty. Rêve d’Infini is a fragrance about femininity and a well-groomed woman in a fine veil of musk and powder. Exquisite! ♥

Very soft, very elegant, very sophisticated and magical fragrance!!! I have always liked soft, musky, feminine but long-lasting fragrances and I was looking for one. Then in a YouTube video I saw someone talking about this fragrance and describing it as a ”magical fragrance” It really caught my attention and I decided to order a bottle online because of the pandemic without trying it. OMG! it became one of my favourite fragrances from top to bottom. It has a fizzy opening like champagne with lots of peaches with lychee, then freesia, rose and jasmine come in, but mostly rose and then beautiful musk takes over everything apart from them. I highly recommend this fragrance if you like ”ethereal” fragrances like Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc, Chloe Love etc. I feel like a Greek god when I smell this on my skin, it has a feminine, mature, but classy vibe. Lucky to get the 100 ml bottle 😉

When I first used Reve d’Infini, and bought the bottle blind because of the feeling I have towards the Lalique brand, I discovered that this fragrance feels very familiar to me, and it has for many, many years. For me, it is even related to the Eva Polleny-Eva perfume from the 90s, my first ‘serious’ perfume. The difference is that the Evas were sweeter, these were softened with musk. In Reve, it is hard to distinguish individual notes. The floral accords and fruity sweetness blend perfectly. I think it’s a success, I wear it with pleasure.

I got it a while ago and, since I had already loved ‘Living Lalique,’ which belongs to the same perfume line from the refined Lalique, I bought this one blind, based on the positive reviews I read online. ‘Reve d’Infini’ exceeded all my expectations, as it is a lovely, feminine, subtle and light fragrance, with strong floral and musky notes, which without ‘shouting’ makes its presence perfectly felt. Intense without being heavy, light without being overwhelming, it is the perfect choice for the warmer seasons. With satisfying longevity, over 6 hours on my skin, and in very tasteful packaging, a bottle identical to the mentioned ‘Living Lalique’ but matt, dominated by the calligraphic ‘infinity’ or horizontal 8, the Infini in its name, and the pale pink colour! Try it and ‘dream without limits’!

I got the fragrance out of greed (there was a big discount), but only 30 ml, since the fragrance seemed simply nice, unpretentious. What a surprise when I applied it before bed! The first few minutes were soft and seemingly nothing special, and then, note by note, a sensual, delicate and noble opening. The delicate cloud I found myself in as a result impressed me, although I thought it would be hard to surprise me. Step by step, Rêve d’Infini led me to the idea that I should not have got 30 ml, but a hundred with dignity.

I tried it in a perfume shop. It describes it as potpourri. It freely presents a visualisation of the perfume’s myrrh. It’s strangely delicate, milky, penetrating, exquisite… With one problem I can’t rate the durability and the aura. It’s simply beautiful. That’s it. Without fascination or pity. It’s more peace and tenderness. A calm, subdued beauty.
