  1. At first I thought it was the original Seoul, but over time it reveals itself as quite a beast: sweeter and more potent. It doesn’t smell like Le Beau or Invictus Victory Elixir; it’s boosted Seoul, unmistakable. Its pineapple note is different from Le Beau’s, and while Victory Elixir is sweet, it doesn’t match it. What a pity it’s no longer sold; it surpasses the original in every way. I’m sure they’ll bring it back as a limited edition.

  2. This flanker is the furthest from the original Seoul and the Invictus DNA: the real winter Seoul. It’s much sweeter, warmer, more nocturnal and long-lasting. What doesn’t quite fit for me is the evolution: after hours, only strong vanilla and amber notes remain (perhaps my nose isn’t used to that), but it remains good value for money.

Unlike the previous one (every nose is different), here the Invictus is barely noticeable. It reminds me more of a synthetic, fruity Le Beau: you detect more pineapple and apple than coconut, but it’s on the same line. That fruit combined with spiced cardamom and sweet vanilla makes it perfect for going out. It’s youthful and the longevity surprised me greatly.

  4. It has the Invictus spirit but is more tropical and sweetly fruity. It opens citrusy, then that pineapple and apple appear quickly, lasting for much of the fragrance’s life before sweetening without becoming cloying. I like it for any season. Ten sprays last 8-9 hours; I thought less, but when I picked up my partner after work, she asked what the car smelled like. Strong projection at first, then it settles. A good modern twist on the original Invictus, rich, though it does feel a bit synthetic.
