A gem of the brand, in my view undervalued yet holding its own. William introduces you to vetiver, enveloping you in it and drying it out to finish with vetiver. This fragrance is instantly recognisable; it’s Morillas’ hand at work, featuring his favourite note: vetiver. At first, William presents itself as green, as green as its juice, before we quickly encounter the incense that accompanies the vetiver, taming its effervescent side while preserving its exquisite class. As it dries, it leaves a soft yet firm scent of green woods and gently resinous tones. It’s more linear, rarely changing its skin. William is for those who wear something personal; the trail leaves something to be desired, and the longevity perhaps isn’t the best in the line, but it visibly doesn’t aim to be, seeking not an ‘here I am’ but rather ‘come closer and get to know me’. If you’re unfamiliar with Penhaligon’s or the brand, passing by William is a must-see for vetiver and wood enthusiasts. A wonderful fragrance…

What a surprise! I’m going to order a decant to try it properly. It comes across as luminous and energetic, with citrus notes and a floral touch; it already smells aromatic. I sense something green, though I can’t quite pinpoint it. As it dries, a woody base emerges, with the heart and the most charming element being a creamy sandalwood that envelops everything. It’s elegant, mature, and full of personality. It contains vetiver, and alongside the sandalwood, a note I can’t identify—perhaps ambroxan—which opens up and projects to enhance its aromatic character. Very well balanced, with no harsh edges. Masculine, at least formal, and versatile; I see it as less suitable for summer… but for the rest of the year, it’s a wonderful, easy-to-wear fragrance with interesting character.

I sense something green that I can’t quite place. As it dries down, a woody base emerges, with the core and most charming element being a creamy sandalwood that covers everything. Elegant, mature, and with plenty of personality. It contains vetiver and, alongside the sandalwood, a nuance I can’t identify, perhaps ambroxan, which adds projection and ensures the aromatic character is noticeable. The opening is more amber with a citrus touch. The perfume develops into warm herbal tones with fresh accents, having a very unisex vibe for those who appreciate clean, sensual herbal scents. By the hour mark, the sandalwood notes begin to dominate. It settles close to the skin, releasing those woody ambroxan notes found in classics like One Million or Armani Code, etc. (though this one is sweeter). Without a doubt, it ranks in the top of this line, third place: first Lord George, second Terrible Teddy. Unisex masculine. Medium longevity. It could be worth buying, or one might opt for something cheaper from the aforementioned similar options.

A perfume that smells exactly like vanilla biscuits. On my skin, it’s a total gourmand, yet of extremely high quality with a lovely scent that relaxes and calms the spirit. Ideal for daily wear and any time of year. However, its performance leaves much to be desired, lasting only about three hours and fading to skin scent after two and a half hours, at an exorbitant price. Aside from the cost, it’s an adorable and simple perfume that I’d love to use every day.

It falls into the shadow of Terre d’Hermès. The vetiver is the most prominent note, accompanied by a medley of scents that don’t quite harmonise. It’s a good perfume but isn’t worth the price, and there are better options available. I’d only buy it if something truly bewitched me and made it irreplaceable for me; otherwise, you’ll easily find something better in this style.

Absolute madness, I love it. Smells incredibly clean, lasts as expected—around 4-5 hours with normal use, maybe less, but in cold weather it reaches 9-10 hours, quite astonishing. I absolutely adore it. It doesn’t project much, but this is a 10/10. Thanks, Murilla. I don’t like Aqua di Giò, but I love this one.

What a well-made perfume; an aroma that evokes cleanliness and prestige. Its projection is very light, so you need many sprays, and unfortunately, it doesn’t last long.
