It’s a smoky rose with an oriental twist. At first, it’s strong, sweet, and slightly ‘dirty’ or animalic, as if containing oud and a toasted almond note; I don’t detect any coconut. After 30 minutes, it softens into a warm, ambered rose nestled among fine woods, leather, and smoky vanilla. It’s unisex, mysterious, and dense. It smells sweet without being overpowering or overly opulent, so I think it’s versatile if you like this accord. Perfect for autumn and winter. Projection is medium to high for the first hour, then a soft but noticeable trail. Lasts around six hours on skin and longer on clothes. It’s the best from Commodity Expressive on my skin. I love it, and although I already have roses in my collection, I wouldn’t rule out buying it.

It smells sweet without being over-the-top or overly opulent, so I think it’s versatile if you like this accord. Ideal for autumn/winter. Medium/high projection for the first hour, then a soft but present trail. Longevity of about six hours on skin and longer on clothes. It’s the best from Commodity Expressive on my skin. I love it, and although I already have roses in my collection, I don’t rule out buying it.
I didn’t expect it to be sweet, but it isn’t. Straight out of the bottle, it smells very smoky, like incense, but as it dries down I notice the roses with a dark vanilla and woods; I started to like it much more. It’s velvety, with that kind of sensation. It smells unique, mysterious and rich, but I’m not sure if it’s for me.
I was surprised I liked it because I hate roses, but here it’s so deep it smells like a real petal. It really impacted me. ‘Velvet’ opens with clove, toasted almonds, and smoky notes. It evolves into a warm, deep rose that blends brilliantly with spiced vanilla and amber. More than velvet, it reminds me of Turkish delights. The dry-down is very woody but well-blended, everything dancing in harmony. It’s soft, mysterious, dark, sweet, velvety, comforting, and seductive. A feminine unisex scent for autumn/winter. Soft trail and medium longevity. It’s similar to ‘By the Fireplace’ but with rose and almond, less smoky and woody, slightly sweeter. I like both, but as I already own ‘By the Fireplace’, which projects more and feels more like me, I wouldn’t buy this one.
