Indeed, it smells like the Essence version of Cartier’s Declaration: purer and punchier, yet with a drier touch. The longevity is very good, though ultimately Declaration does everything better. It performs well and the quality is evident, but since it’s from Davidoff’s premium line, it’s harder to find. In the end, I won’t buy the full bottle when I have the entire Cartier family to choose from at the stand. By the way, it’s curious that Declaration, despite not being a bestseller, has as many imitators as Narciso Bleu, Tous 1920, or Dunhill Icon.
