A truly beautiful perfume, both in scent and packaging. As a collector, I know that love often begins with the eyes, even if it’s ironic to seek it in a fragrance. Rarely does a bottle captivate me only to disappoint the contents, but this one enchanted me instantly. The ruby bottle, mimicking crystal, made me feel as though I’d stepped into a fairy tale, while the silver-crowned cap left me speechless. It was my second Van Cleef & Arpels purchase; I discovered that this jewellery house is also a master of perfumery. I bought it blind, driven by an initial crush, and was simply wow-ed by the fragrance. The top notes are a natural explosion of blackcurrant, lychee, raspberry, and pink pepper. I’m not usually a fan of red fruits, as they tend to give me a headache, but here they blend so elegantly that I’ve become a convert. Then, in the heart, peony, freesia, peach, and a powdery iris soften the fruity juice. On the base, I detect musk, violet, cedar, and sandalwood. It’s timeless: in spring and summer, a few sprays throughout the day and evening suffice, while in autumn and winter, it needs more intensity. It’s elegant, refined yet powerful; one must mind the dosage. Trail, projection, and longevity are 9/10: strong for five hours, then moderate for another three. It delivers on longevity. Literally, it’s a fairy-tale ruby containing another jewel: its fragrance. I highly recommend it.

Extremely complex yet simple in bottle, beautiful, natural, fresh, zero artificiality, fruity but not overpowering. The fruit cocktail is perfectly balanced, with each note taking its turn during the eight-hour longevity. It gradually reveals delicious scents. So natural and pleasant, at a wonderful price and completely unique. If you want to avoid smelling like everyone else and escape the generic, common scents of Carolina Herrera or Paco Rabanne, this is your perfume.

I must confess, I’ve been craving this bottle for some time now; it is simply wonderful. I wasn’t planning on entering Buenos Aires, so when I spotted it at my usual shop, I immediately tested it, knowing that even if the scent didn’t quite suit me, I would still buy it. On blotter, I found it more pleasant than Feerie EDP (which I already own); it feels very fruity and fresh, quite light. However, on my skin, it was different: it kept that fruity freshness but introduced freesia and peony with a very citrusy twist (likely due to the high-quality lemon, orange, and bergamot), giving it a denser character. It is a fragrance that doesn’t overpower; the projection is moderate but it drifts slowly from the skin and lingers all day; on my skin, it evolves like this for about seven hours. From here, I stand by Feerie Rubis above the negative comments on Fragrantica in English. A fragrance for personal enjoyment.
