What a wonderful fragrance! It was exactly what I was looking for after trying the classic. It begins with red fruits, moves to flowers where I detect rose and carnation, then an undisclosed musk and excellent vanilla. The advertising with Kendall Jenner is top; she looks stunning and it suits her perfectly; her style matches the perfume. It has similarities with Nina Ricci’s Lextase and 212 VIP Rose. I loved it immensely and I would love to smell it on someone. Simply superb, worth it!
One of my favourite fetishes – and vices – is buying and wearing red lipstick: they are erotic, elegant and very flattering… in a way, I tried to find such attributes in this fragrance, which I tested this week, but NO! Nothing like my desires! This new Estee Lauder scent is rather moderate and very similar to other aromatic proposals on the market: a floral, fruity fragrance, very musky, which is fine if you’re looking for something pretty, but it is very far from having an enigmatic charm. I left it on the dressing table and preferred to buy some ‘Envy’ lipsticks from the same brand. Acceptable longevity, moderate sillage. More youthful than the original ‘Modern Muse’.

It is a floral-fruity scent, very musky and suitable if you want something pretty, but it lacks that enigmatic charm. I left it on the dressing table and opted for some Envy lipsticks from the same brand. Longevity and sillage are acceptable; it feels more youthful than the original Modern Muse.

I was gifted a miniature of this; the cap looks like pink pepper, so I give points for creativity. Olfactorily it is simple: sweet but well executed. It delivers on its promise: blackcurrant, rose and raspberry notes at the start, vanilla within minutes, then jasmine and magnolia. Finally vetiver and patchouli, all in harmony. It is youthful, romantic, with a spark, light and unpretentious. A good option for heat or daytime.

I like Modern Muse Le Rouge. It’s nothing innovative, but I appreciate it; it’s pleasant to my nose. It opens with red fruits, the blackcurrant very sharp, then the raspberry, and within minutes the rose enters as the protagonist, with a soft vanilla base. It doesn’t have much evolution, doesn’t break any rules, is similar to other rose and red fruit scents, but it’s pretty, easy to wear and suits any occasion.
I like Modern Muse Le Rouge; it’s not innovative but I like it, it’s pleasant to my nose. It doesn’t have great evolution, it’s not the eighth wonder nor does it break any moulds; it’s a perfume similar to others with roses and red berries, but pretty, easy to wear and suits any occasion.

On my skin, it smells very much like Mon Paris due to that red fruit note with its plasticky touch and patchouli, but here the roses take centre stage, musky and powdery, very sensual. The trail and longevity are moderate.

I’ve had it for years and bought it again last week. A few months ago I tried SÍ FIORI, which is a different style, but this time I liked it much more; I get a super fruity dry-down. An absolute delight.
I was looking for Modern Muse and found it in its Le Rouge version. I bought it without hesitation and loved the surprise. It lasts forever, smells like vintage cosmetics, is sensual yet discreet, and lingers in the room for hours afterwards. It’s passionate, heavily centred on raspberry and rose, and I’d buy it a million times over.
