I’m one of the few who didn’t dislike it, although only partially. I expected more magic; it starts fresh but the incense comes out quickly and I can’t handle that, it smells like a temple or church. I agree with the person who mentioned the historical/cultural angle, it seems that’s the inspiration. After a while, the incense fades and the leather and jasmine take over, which is more pleasant, but I wouldn’t buy it. I had high expectations for this flanker and it didn’t convince me; I prefer Eau de Nemo for leather and jasmine, better executed. If you like mystical/religious perfumes, dark yet fresh, it’s worth trying. The scent quality is excellent, but keep in mind that the incense becomes very prominent.

One of the few I didn’t enjoy. I liked it only half-heartedly. To be honest, I expected more magic. It starts fresh, but the incense kicks in quickly and, no, I simply can’t handle that note; it smells like a temple or church. I agree with those who mentioned the historical/cultural angle; I think that’s the inspiration. After a while, the incense fades and the leather and jasmine take over, making it more pleasant, but I still wouldn’t buy it. I had high hopes for this flanker and it just didn’t convince me; I prefer the Eau de Nemo for leather and jasmine, as that is better executed. If you like perfumes with a mystical/religious vibe, a bit dark yet fresh, it’s worth trying… the scent quality is excellent, but keep in mind the incense becomes very prominent.

  3. Cappadocia is Memo’s new take on vanilla – neither cloying nor boring, but a perfect balance of intensity and nuance within the gourmand world. Vanilla dominates from start to finish. At first, it’s accompanied by a touch of saffron that gives it an intense kick; after an hour, it blends with incense, musk, and a subtly woody base. The flowers are barely noticeable, and while the iris root should help sustain it, I feel it’s absent because orris just doesn’t work for me in a gourmand context. The quality is top-notch and immediately apparent. It lasts around seven hours with five or six sprays, projecting strongly for the first two hours at over half a metre, before settling into your personal bubble. Ideal for dinners or weddings, but not for sports. Suitable for any age and season, except extreme heat. As always, test Memo fragrances on your skin because they smell different on paper.

  4. Cappadocia is the new face of vanilla from Memo: nothing cloying or boring, but a perfect balance between intensity and nuance, very gourmand. Vanilla takes charge from start to finish. Initially, a touch of saffron gives it an extra kick; after an hour, it blends with incense, musk, and subtle wood. The florals are barely noticeable, and I don’t detect the orris, which I usually dislike in gourmands, though the iris root must be helping to sustain it. The quality is top-notch and evident. It lasts around seven hours with five or six sprays, projecting strongly for the first two hours before settling into your personal bubble. Ideal for dinners or weddings, but not for sports. Suitable for any age and season, except extreme heat. As always, test on skin because Memo smells different on fabric than on skin.
