  • This is the best of the Petite Robe, neither too sweet nor overwhelmingly sugary. I prefer it without the cherry. The first spray smells of a very strong rose, but it settles quickly with a sweet, non-cloying touch. It lasts about 20 minutes before turning into patchouli and vanilla, which is when I truly love it on my skin. The problem is that it barely lasts two hours; what a pity.

  • Personally, I don’t like licorice, but here the lemon touch makes it fresh. Over time, the sweetness of the vanilla becomes noticeable. It’s an intense fragrance with great longevity, designed for evening wear and for a mature lady.

  • Persefonex

I absolutely love its citrus opening and that licorice note that adds sweetness, reminiscent of Angel but without that cloying sugary finish that turns me off. Although the licorice makes me think of something more common, ultimately it’s just a normal rose. I enjoy the blend of citrus with the sweet, powdery iris. It’s very feminine and, since licorice isn’t common here, it’s a rare scent. It’s like smelling an eccentric cousin of Angel.

I’ve been carrying this sample since 2017 and took it to my 20th birthday trip to Holland in 2018. It was a canonical event: I discovered the country with it and lived revelatory experiences. It’s floral, powdery, sweet and refreshing, smelling like vintage soap; it made me feel like a curious, comfortable child with my shyness. I remember being blown away by Van Gogh’s sunflowers and then trying psychedelics; it inspired me with art and the occult. I keep it in my heart and can’t wait to buy the big bottle to revive that emotional potpourri. I tried it this Christmas and it’s still brilliant for letting go of emotions and being more receptive 🫶🏼

  • Although I don’t mind smelling it on others (my mother owns one), for me it’s too astringent (dry, if that makes sense when talking about scents). If you like Lolita Lempicka, which was my cousin’s signature for a long time, you’ll surely like this one too, even for layering between the two, as they follow the same line.

  • As everyone comments, it’s 100% synthetic and smells super sweet; if it has a cherry scent, that’s the only reason I like it… but if you can’t stand synthetic sweetness, this isn’t for you. I don’t consider it heavy enough to give you a headache or overwhelming because it doesn’t have much projection 🌸. But if you’re looking for something for daily wear, I definitely recommend it 🫰🏻

  • It’s not just for sweet perfume lovers. It’s a fruity sweetness, synthetic, like cherry syrup with bitter almonds, and sweet licorice is present all the time. These three notes are the protagonists of this uncommon blend. You can notice superior quality, but it’s not a blind buy. Sometimes the patchouli wants to stand out and becomes more stately; I don’t see anyone under 25 wearing it; you need character. It’s for a determined, confident and mysterious woman. The longevity is excellent, over 7 hours on skin.

  • Very tasty! I recommend it. Personally, it’s fresher than heavy. It doesn’t last as long on my skin as it does on others, but it does last.

  • Petite Robe Noire was love at first sniff. I’d wanted to try it for a long time but there was no way to get a decant or know it in a shop, so I bought it blind and it was my best purchase of 2024! Although the reviews I found made me doubt, I didn’t want to go through winter without it. My husband and I open all our perfumes together as an activity and give genuine impressions; with this one, both of us said at the same time: Smells delicious! He’s not usually surprised, but with this one he was genuine. For me, the opening is like a Tutsi Pop palette of cherry but with more complexity. In the evolution I detect rose, tea and spices (anise and licorice, although my nose isn’t trained). It’s curious that that sweet cherry is always there, but the spices make it dark without taking away the sweetness or being too strong; the cherry remains wrapped in mystery. I love all the phases: femininity, sensuality, sex appeal, power, night out. I prefer it at night and in cool climates, although everyone should use it as they see fit. Recommendations: you must like sweet perfumes and cherries. It’s the sweetness I expected, but perception is subjective. Although it’s beautiful, it could get tiring if used every day; you have to measure the dose. The trail and longevity are from average to good, but my skin is dry and the fragrance hasn’t mellowed yet. Conclusion: Petite Robe Noire deserves much more love.

  • As another commenter noted, it smells feminine but somewhat dark, like a witch. To me, it was equally elegant and youthful. I remember the first time I smelled it I disliked it, but after the cherry matured. The second time I could appreciate the notes that make it suitable for any formal event, like a little black dress. Some define it as powdery; yes, it is, and for others it can seem stately if worn during the day.

  • proxarcadia

I think we have here a super versatile perfume. By the notes it seems ‘weird’, ‘extravagant’ or very ‘heavy’, but it isn’t. I was missing a cherry perfume in my collection and, with it being in fashion, I got to work: La nuit trésor intense… No comments from Q by Dolce&Gabbana, Meh Midnight by Britney Spears or Puaj Black Opium Over Red. I haven’t tried the famous Lovefest Burning Cherry by Kayali or Lost Cherry by Tom Ford, but I didn’t miss them. I saw many good and bad comments and was doubtful, plus reading the notes doesn’t help, but when I smelled it with zero expectations, I was hugely surprised: it was EXACTLY the cherry perfume I imagined. The opening is a Chupa Chups-type cherry somewhat almonded, with tea and sweet black licorise from a sweet treat. I don’t perceive the rest of the notes. It’s super sweet but not cloying, very gourmand and versatile. I thought I’d only use it in winter or at night, but in the summer in the afternoon it’s fantastic. It’s not fresh but feels lighter than expected (perhaps due to the medium longevity). It’s not a shrill and linear cherry like the Q by D&G; the cherry lasts all the way through (unlike Black Opium), it’s not overshadowed by rose like Nuit Trésor, nor is it insipid like Jimmy Choo. It’s something ‘dark’, reminds me of a ‘Gothic Lolita’, very feminine but a bit witchy. I love it, I wear it a lot despite the heat and it doesn’t get tiring (neither does it for others). 10/10

  • My best friend gifted me this fragrance after 12 years without seeing each other and it was a very pleasant surprise. I like sweet notes, but everything from popular brands seemed unattractive to me, which is why I looked for this review and understand why many don’t like it. I think it’s a perfume with a lot of personality, elegant but not too much, ideal for my 38 years. I live in a cold climate and it adapts brilliantly for day or evening. The first day I wore it at the office it flooded the place and the best part is that it has acceptable longevity. I don’t recommend it if you don’t like sweet notes and live in a warm climate, it could be too much. I will buy it again, it stands out from the ordinary, highlights my femininity, my leadership and makes me feel elegant and strong at the same time.

  • nataliedrm

These are the kind of perfumes that only fit on cold days; intolerably sweet, sickly and intrusive. No, no.

  • I only wear it in autumn/winter because above a certain temperature it becomes heavy and oppressive. It is very spiced, with sweet and potent notes that make it unsuitable for all palates. Although it is a classic and balanced, everything is intense. Definitely do not buy it blindly, no matter how good the promotion; it is not for the majority. It has high longevity and sillage, so I would not use it in enclosed or work spaces as it is too intrusive. Do not gift it without knowing if the person loves it first, because it could be a tragedy or end up at the bottom of a drawer. Guerlain has done better things, but as it is a classic, people have an attachment to it.

  • Yeli parfum

It is unique, super potent and strong, you can tell it, similar to Black but without that marked leather. Pity my little nose could not handle it; on a hot island it is too much. I would recommend it for mild climates, night wear and cold days, so it can truly shine. Test before buying.

  • Lady Wallis

I had it years ago when I was 23 and I liked it; it made me feel elegant and sophisticated. Last year, at 33, I saw it and bought it again… Arrgh! I hated it when I first wore it; I do not know if the perfume changed or me, but I tolerate it only to the point of gifting it. It smells only of liquorice, anise and vanilla; heavy, dense, cloying and overwhelming. A resounding no. It makes me think about how we evolve: in my 20s I liked these aromas, now in my 30s I prefer something lighter, clean and fresh.

  • If you were expecting cherry lip balm style from trendy perfumes, get that idea out of your head. Here, predominant are sour, brandied, ripe cherries, with anise, liquorice and black tea. Personally, it evokes something medicinal. It is a movie scent that must be tested before buying. Not suitable for summer, I find it too invasive. It lasts and projects a lot.

  • DaviniaTolkien

I do not know if I have already reviewed it, but if it is necessary, I will do it again because it is so, but so beautiful that I consider it essential, especially for the start. It is an all-rounder for any occasion, a scent simply precious. Sour cherries and almonds with a super original touch that only Guerlain’s vanilla has. It can be used in any season, even in summer, taking care with sprays because the sour cherry gives a sparkling touch. If you doubt the heat, try its younger sister, the EDT, which has magnificent longevity and I feel it is a bit more unisex. Get this jewel, you will surely like it.

  • I did not like it; it smells very chemical and ugly, like a bad incense. That said, it smells like life and one day more. I have tried many cherry perfumes and for the moment the most beautiful and real one is Jimmy Choo I want choo forever.

  • Spiced cherries in syrup, mmmmm, every time I smell it I like it and it convinces more. I usually do not like perfumes with spiced cherries, but I love this one; I think it is because of the syrupy quality, they feel like sweet cherries. On the opening, the spices are very noticeable, but I like it. I am completely convinced by the dry down; it is wonderful: the spiced part remains as a base and the syrupy cherries take the spotlight. Perhaps one of my favourite spiced perfumes. I would like to try it on skin and see how it evolves.

  • It is rich; you feel the cherry and anise a lot, as if they were cherries in syrup. It lasts a very long time and its sillage is strong; a few sprays are enough to fill a room with the scent.

  • stella.maris

As part of my new hobby, the passion for discovering and smelling perfumes, I started with Guerlain. It seems to me a traditional but elegant house; I do not think the old is outdated. On the first sniff I did not like it at all; I thought it was very sour. I returned to the stand days later and when I applied it, I found it elegant and mysterious. I do not feel it is the typical ‘good girl’ or ‘L’Heure Bleue’ type perfume that everyone brings. It has its own personality and a different elegance. I do not think it is so youthful, nor for a mature woman; I feel it is for an age range between 28 and 45. I loved it; on me it smells of cherry and almonds; it does not evolve with so many notes but with those two it is more than enough; you do not need to get lost in a thousand aromas for a perfume to work and make you stand out. I do not know if it suits me for daily wear, as sometimes it can be intrusive because here the temperature hovers around 40°, but it works well for afternoon/evening and when you want to feel elegant, sophisticated, empowered and different. I do not think it is for going to the supermarket or casual things; it must be given its place for special moments. I do recommend it widely and, if you are lucky, I think it is long-lasting; it lasts something more than 5 hours.

  • juno-mermaid

I absolutely love it! This is the one that lasts the longest on both my skin and clothes. People always tell me it smells like a baby, like baby powder, haha. Definitely worth trying before buying; I don’t think it’s for everyone.

  • You are obliged to try this before purchasing. It remains one of my favourites. The cherry has a unique acidity and sweetness that enhance the almonds, and then the roses timidly appear. It’s a perfume that you will be loved wherever you go.

  • Totally worth a try! I adore it; it’s sweet. The cherry gives a nice acidic touch well balanced by the vanilla, which adds exquisite sweetness. You can smell the almonds at the start, wrapped in roses. The tea is barely noticeable. When dry, it’s sweet yet elegant. On my skin, it lasts over 8 hours and on clothes until the next day. Be careful, if you use too much you might get a headache. You will receive compliments. It works better on fresh days. Perfect for a date.

  • Javiera1989

With perfumes it’s like with people: either you click or you don’t. It’s been in my collection for a while; I bought it blind. It doesn’t fixate on my skin or much on clothes, but that doesn’t bother me. The issue is that metallic note in the cherry that I don’t understand. The times I use it, I take a break when the base notes hit my skin directly, as the sillage is almost non-existent, but the tonka bean and patchouli save the day. Every so often I give it another chance because tastes change with the years; I hope one day to reconcile with that metallic scent and use what’s left.

  • La Petite Robe Noire is love or hate; forbidden to buy blind unless you like licorice, cherry and the Guerlain house. At the start I notice a predominant acidic cherry, bergamot and red berries (not red fruits), nothing sweet up to here; within minutes the cherry is wrapped in an exquisite almond and rose accord, and then settled appears the vanilla and anise, giving the just right sweetness. Regarding the tea, my nose doesn’t sense anything distinctive, but I do feel the sensation of a dry and fresh perfume, the magic of the tea accord. In the final dry down it becomes sweeter, I imagine due to the tonka bean and anise, more intense. I liked a bit that it resembles Lolita Lempicka, but LPRN has no violet, although the rose + iris combo could give that sensation. In Black Perfecto I detect much of its mother, but the leather gives a twist and the baby powder accord is less strong. Wild Cherry by Mancera is almost a blatant copy, it could be a dupe but without licorice or anise. Moderate duration and high projection for the first 4 hours on my crocodile skin, a point more. Its use is only for cold or mild days; I can’t see myself using it in heat. I’m not one to worry about aldehyde or baby powder notes because they are very ‘ladylike’; if I like it and enjoy it, I buy it. But I warn you that it could smell like lipstick, like your grandmother’s dressing room. I am fascinated by it. Oh, I forgot to say the atomiser is the best I have, it sprays a lot and very well.

  • Although I don’t think another review of La Petite Robe Noire is necessary, I have to write it because something strange happens to me. I like it immensely; since I smelled the decant, I knew I wanted it. On paper it is wonderful: fresh cherry, sweet almonds and creamy vanilla. But when I sprayed it on my skin, I became anosmic. How strange! Could that be why cherry perfumes never quite appealed to me? Despite atomising like crazy (and tormenting my family), I still couldn’t perceive it. Perhaps that’s why it doesn’t seem strong or annoying in this hot spring. I was surprised that others find it very strong; to me it seems sweet, fresh and versatile. It lives up to its name: a garment for any situation. On my skin I smell cherry, almonds, vanilla and that black tea accord that I loved. I would even say it’s more of a tea with cherry perfume. I don’t perceive licorice or anise. In a very late dry down I sense the patchouli. I realised that although after three hours I no longer smell it, several people say it projects too much (perhaps because I emptied 10ml on my head). In conclusion: it’s very lovely, fresh, versatile and with excellent performance… except for the fact that I become anosmic after the first hour. Recommended to sample on skin before buying; I think it’s an excellent purchase.

  • I don’t think it’s a bad perfume, but I expected more natural cherries and I only perceive the heart candy scent 🙁

  • I absolutely love it; the intense cherry aroma is clearly felt, the red fruits and the almond scent are very marked. I loved it and when I use it to go to the office, it attracts a lot of attention and they say you smell delicious; it gives a certain glamour, which I love, even more so because the scent lasts all day; it’s one of my favourites.

  • The notes of cherry, licorice and anise stand out over the rest, giving the sensation of a spiced cherry caramel. Very simple. It has an air of Lolita Lempicka but more potent.

  • I bought this for my mother as soon as she stepped out, and it suited her perfectly. It’s a fruity gourmand with boozy red berries where ripe cherry takes the lead, featuring that sweet candy licorice and indulgent touch. Drying down, it’s the ‘made in Guerlain’ vanilla. Gourmand, nocturnal, and super feminine. Ideal for young, romantic, and seductive women. It wears best fresh all year round and is perfect as a signature scent for lovers of sweet fruity notes. A very French gourmand, sweet and spicy.

  • Yazmin Ortiz

Finally I found my taste in this perfume and it was because we are in winter in my country; I love it… I perceive it all the time as a constant scent that doesn’t have much evolution from its start, with good trail. For me, its cherry scent with that spicy touch is seductive. You receive compliments; it’s not a perfume that leaves people indifferent.

  • I bought it today and I’ve gone crazy; it draws attention with its sensuality and mystery in the notes, it’s intoxicating just to smell it. I love this cherry-led gourmand, followed by rose, vanilla, and patchouli, which are what most distinguish it. Simply madness.

  • To me, it’s a crunchy liquor bonbon filled with cherry, a mon chéri. It’s a warm fragrance, sweetly intense, and very elegant. A scent for special occasions and nights. It’s like an evening dress and makeup, for dark yet rich and varied tones. It feels sober, sexy, and deep, with its cherry, almond, and floral notes. A crunchy, dark, and elegant aroma that I adore for marked occasions: concerts, dance, Christmas, dinners, festivals… almost always at night. Crunchy with that particular seductive Guerlain signature.

  • AnaNavarreteG

Terrible. I bought it because they said it smelled similar to Lolita Lempicka, but it doesn’t at all. It smells old, and the scent lasts ten minutes and then *poof*—totally gone.

  • Reina Amigdala

I’m a lover of cherry fragrances and this was a must-have; I truly liked it, though I must say it has a very potent and strange opening. The first time I smelled it, I thought of Dr Pepper Cherry. When it dries down, it becomes magical; the cherry is fresher and the almond and vanilla stand out hugely. The trail starts brutal but drops to moderate. The longevity is good.

  • I like it, but as it dries down it starts to smell like soap, specifically a cherry or red fruit soap. I find it too simple for the price.

  • Chispilla81

A beautiful perfume for cold autumn or winter. On my skin, it has moderate performance, projecting for an hour and a half and lasting about five hours… which, for my case, is too short. It doesn’t make large trails; its radius of action is medium. I see it as elegant and usable for semi-formal or evening occasions, although perhaps it’s too short for all night or can’t compete with other perfumes. Usable at any age, it has both a youthful and a mature side, which is good. If I were to put it on a character, I’d choose Sophie (Jessica Biel in The Illusionist); it’s for an elegant but mysterious and discreet woman, it would suit her perfectly. In terms of scent, cherry with almond and berries takes the lead at first; when dried, it leaves cherry bathed in licorice and tea, giving a mysterious touch with anise and iris, leaving a powdered cherry. For me, it’s cherry bathed in licorice with anise, on a bed of almonds sprinkled with tea, all dusted with iris. I recommend it to those who like cherry as it’s rich in that note, but it’s not a cheerful fruity scent; it’s a classy cherry, not intrusive.

  • I’ve fallen in love with LPRN; since I tried and bought it, I can’t live without it. It’s not for everyday wear, it’s for occasions, events, weddings, formal gatherings, and those days when you need or want to feel special, because this dress achieves that. I’ve read it’s similar to Lolita Lempicka; I own both and while one could say they’re of the same style, they don’t resemble each other; this one is more elegant and sophisticated, Lolita is more romantic, dreamy, evoking a fairy tale. LPRN has its feet on the ground and invites you to take the reins of your destiny. It shares notes with Lolita but combined so differently that I feel distinct things with each. Good longevity and trail for a modern perfume, which we know already lasts and projects less than those from decades ago.

  • giselistica

To put it briefly: it’s very similar to Lolita Lempicka but not creamy and without the anise. This is cherry and sweet licorice. It’s more mature than Lolita and of better quality. It has a high trail and moderate to long longevity. It’s youthful, sparkling, fresh, and sweet.

  • Manuela Monteiro

I’ve returned to my first love. Those acidic, so indulgent cherries, so full of memories. It’s the perfume I bought on my honeymoon. It finished two years ago and I’ve just acquired it again. This time I bought the 100 ml so my daughters can have some, as it’s extremely potent. I’m very happy to have it with me again. The scent of happiness and love.
