Beyond Paradise by Estée Lauder

It is one of the most delicious perfumes I have ever tried and worn; I wish they hadn’t discontinued it. No matter how hard I search for a replacement, nothing compares. I remember it as warm and enveloping yet not heavy, with a trail that earned me countless compliments. An exquisite white floral with incredible longevity. Smelling it made me so happy; it was my signature scent for years.

The bottle is pretty but the experience… I couldn’t handle it and gave it away. I didn’t like it at all.

A vintage fragrance… the hyacinth is the star, and it’s definitely an unwelcome guest, making the composition feel dated and turning it into a ‘grandma’ perfume. Add the ultra-intrusive notes of jasmine and honeysuckle, and it smells like those flower crowns bought for funerals. The bottle is very innovative but has nothing to do with the contents. The longevity is terrifying; I believe those who wear it could shower for a week and the scent would remain intact.

Absolutely beastly and original! Its notes are paradisiacal; it seduces and lingers softly yet with presence. Brilliant for feeling cheerful and having an identity. Congratulations to the creators; it is one of my favourites!

An exquisite perfume that evokes a paradisiacal beach. One day while cleaning, I found a cologne that smelled exactly like this, Solinotes’ Fleur de Frangipanier, which costs only 10 euros for 50ml. I am happy to have found something so similar at a better price, as paying 50 for 30ml didn’t sit well with me.

This wonder literally smells like the world of Pandora in Avatar. It is exactly that, nothing more. An exquisite fragrance, like the inhabitants there. It’s prismatic floral: exotic and rare flowers dancing in harmony. Much of its ingredients come from the Eden Project, the largest ecological centre. When I first encountered it, I thought of an innocent, feminine girl, yet it’s not childish or simple; it smells of timeless beauty, perfect for girls, young women, adults and mature women, as long as you are a woman confident in your charm. It’s a special potion, in a colourful bottle of paradise, rounded with silver details, like a reserve of wild flora. I remember the advert with Madonna’s song Love Profusion and model Carolyn Murphy walking through the sea among flowers and fairies. I will forever hate EL for discontinuing that beautiful design, even though there is a linear version. For all women, of all ages and beliefs, who wish to celebrate themselves rather than just seduce, to say ‘I love me’. Fragrance 1,000,000 out of 10.

I absolutely love the bottle design; it’s a total success. It smells like a trapped rainbow—rich and full of colour.

Searching for hard-to-find classics from the house in Catalunya, I stumbled upon one of the eight: Estee, Spellbound, Azuree, Aliage Sport, Tuscany, Cinnabar, Intuition and Beyond Paradise. It’s a varied and delightful collection. Beyond Paradise surprised me: ingredients I love, a fresh work of art with sweet touches and great strength. The citrus and floral opening is potent, hinting at its longevity. Then it settles, with other flowers stepping in to add depth. It’s an exotic, peculiar floral, far from being beachy or bland; a masterful blend, not strident. It lasts over twelve hours on my skin, with a strong trail for two hours. It evokes a distant beach with flowers under the sun. I recommend it to collectors and lovers of the tropical.

An exquisite perfume, very feminine, suitable for any age and for day or night; it never goes unnoticed; the name describes it all. I haven’t found it for years, what a pity; few perfumes are like this.

Beautiful, fresh, exotic, mysterious, elegant and original. If dewdrops had a scent, this would be it. It’s floral, fresh, luminous and cheerful; my favourite with which I identify most. I love it.

Simply wonderful. I’m from Argentina and it’s no longer available here; I found it by chance online, a girl was selling it because she’d brought it by mistake. I’m so happy. These are the perfumes you never forget.

I’m on my second bottle. DIVINE! It’s like filling a bucket with jasmine and orange blossom and diving in. The flowers smell so real they are impressive, with nothing synthetic. It lasts about seven hours on skin and clothes until washed. It suits any season and age. It’s so rich that every time I use it, I am impressed.

They gave it to me over five years ago and I still have half the bottle left. It’s a distinctive, oily floral scent. I definitely detect lotus flower. I love it; it’s as ethereal as it is irresistible and very long-lasting.

It smells like angels, tropical and exotic. A sweet floral burst but very feminine. It wraps you in transparent sensuality and makes you float like a fairy in a water-lily garden.
