Descripción
CH L'Eau 2017 by Carolina Herrera is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Olivier Cresp. Its olfactive structure unfolds with top notes of lemon, sour lime, blood orange, Tunisian neroli, red chilli, and Guatemalan cardamom; a heart formed by lemon, sour lime, tea, ginger, yerba mate, orange blossom, and rose; and a base that reveals Haitian vetiver, Atlas cedar, musk, patchouli, and cashmere wood.

Soft and fresh, it smells of blood orange with spicy and green notes.
I must admit I don’t like Carolina Herrera fragrances, but this one surpassed them all. I define it in one phrase: cheap hotel soap smell. If you don’t want to smell like that (and I believe no woman wants to smell like that), DO NOT BUY IT. You have been warned.
I tried it in the freeshop and liked it for being very citrusy and different from the usual CH. I smelled it again in a local perfumerie and regained that good feeling. I almost bought it, but I already have my summer fragrance. It has personality, is citrusy without being sweet, and the longevity is top; it lasted hours on my skin. It’s ambiguous, I think it suits everyone. I don’t understand the negative comments; to me, it seems like a gem. I bought it years ago and I love the spicy opening with a warm base; it breaks the mould of simple citrus. You can detect the lime, ginger, and neroli, with that warm and spicy touch which must be cardamom and chilli, although they don’t feel like such. It lasted over 8 hours with a huge trail. It’s a little gem, pity it’s not more available in the market.
I tried it in the freeshop months ago and it caught my attention for being very citrusy and different from the others by CH. I tried it again at a local perfumerie and remembered the pleasant sensation. I was about to buy it if not for the fact that I already have my summer fragrance. It has personality; it’s citrusy but not sweet. The longevity is very good; it lasted hours on my skin. It’s quite ambiguous, I think it’s unisex. I don’t know why it generated so many negative comments; in my opinion, it’s good. 08-01-2025: I had forgotten about this 2018 review. Finally, this beauty is part of my collection. I love the spicy citrus opening with a warm base. It breaks the cliché of the simple citrus perfume. You can taste the lime, ginger, and neroli, plus something warm and spicy that must be the cardamomo with the chilli. You don’t feel the cardamomo or chilli per se, but they give warmth and heat. Lasts more than 8 hours on skin. Sillage is enormous! It’s a gem, shame it’s not more available in the market.
Excellent perfume, it smells more masculine than feminine. I think you have to give it a proper chance before saying such nonsense straight away. I advise giving it a full wearing.
October 2018: This perfume was a total and pleasant surprise when I first tried it. Perhaps many people won’t like it or find it strange, as it’s not what you expect from a women’s fragrance, especially compared to the previous CH L’Eau de 2011 version, which in my opinion was more feminine. For me, it’s totally unisex; there are moments it smells more like a man’s. It’s fresh, green, floral, spicy, and woody. It’s not sweet. For spring and summer, more for the day. Although on a hot night it would go well. Although it’s very wearable, it has a touch of relaxed elegance. It feels like a set of refreshing citrus notes, green tea and mate. White flowers like neroli, orange blossom, and flashes of roses. Freshly spicy with ginger and cardamomo. Woody with cedar and vetiver. On the masculine side, it reminded me of Herrera for men. If this smells like soap! For me, it’s very luxurious. Irony aside, I’d like it to be my summer fragrance, but its price is through the roof. I’ll look for a more economical replacement. I recommend trying it, men and women. Greetings. Addendum: It doesn’t resemble the D&G one at all.
It’s the only bottle I liked. Unfortunately, it smells cheap. A regular scent, not as citrusy or fresh as they say; it’s more intermediate due to the notes. The heart notes make it less light. I wasn’t surprised, neither good nor bad; I don’t expect anything from Carolina anymore. It doesn’t smell bad, but I’ve heard it in 20 low-cost perfumes and it’s not innovative, refreshing, or good. I liked the bottle, but it’s a run-of-the-mill fragrance; if it disappears, no big deal. I only bought it because it’s CH.

I wasn’t surprised, good or bad, I don’t expect anything from Carolina anymore. It doesn’t smell bad but I’ve heard it exaggerated about 20 times in low-cost perfumes; innovative, refreshing, or good it isn’t. I liked the bottle but it’s a fragrance of the bunch; if it disappears it would be without regret or glory. I only buy it because it’s CH.
Guys, tremendous perfume! Fine, fresh and pleasant. A citrus fragrance ideal for hot afternoons and summer nights. One of my favourites.
I just tried it today. I loved the bottle, but the scent didn’t surprise me. It doesn’t smell bad, simply nothing innovative or different. However, I put it on two hours ago and it still smells. Projection 9, Scent 8, Longevity 9.
It doesn’t smell bad; it’s very good for summer or the gym, without overwhelming anyone. At first, after 45 minutes, it smelled like floor-cleaning lemon, no offence, but then boom: the femininity appeared, it warmed up, with woods and musk, until it even seemed like the original CH chocolate. The sillage and projection are wider than the CH, but clean and citrusy. You don’t overwhelm anyone in the office. I give it 8/10 because at the start I felt that floor-cleaning lemon.
It has become one of my favourites for summer. Fresh and persistent, it seems to have no scent but it does. I passed someone and they asked about it, so it works. I’m into fruity scents, especially citrus, so I have no complaints. It lifts me up and relaxes me. I love it.
It’s become one of my favourites for the heat. Fresh and persistent, it seems like it doesn’t smell but it does. People asked me about it after a while, so it works. I’m into fruity scents, especially citrus, so it has no flaw. It energises and relaxes me, I love it.
They sent it to me by mistake; I wanted the Rosita. The moment I smelled it, I swore it was a man’s fragrance: the leather, ginger, and yerba give it a very masculine touch. I love the citrus, but this is strong. If I don’t return it, I’ll gift it to my husband, but first I’ll give it a chance. I never would have bought it myself; I prefer something more feminine.
I bought it by mistake; I ordered the little rose and they sent this one. I complained because when I smelled it I thought it was masculine; I was surprised it was feminine. I love citrus, but the leather, ginger, and grass make it very masculine. If I don’t change it, I’ll offer it to my husband 😅, but first I’ll give it a chance. I would never have bought it; I prefer something more feminine.
A colleague offered it to me at a good price and I thought about giving it away, but after trying it on my skin I kept it. It reminds me of Acqua di Parma colognes, those dry citrus, refreshing white flowers, and herbs with warm and elegant woods. I loved it. In summer, no one would suspect it’s feminine. I’m convinced that most are unisex; it all depends on your skin and your attitude. If you find it at a good price, buy it without hesitation. It’s very chula.
A colleague offered me this fragrance at a good price. I thought I would keep it to gift to a female relative. It comes with its case and body lotion. I read interesting comments; the notes and the fact that it seems unisex caught my attention. I tested it on my skin and I have loved it. I find it similar to Acqua di Parma colognes (X, Y, Z): dry citrus, white flowers refreshing fougery herbs, and warm, elegant woody base notes. I think I will keep it for myself. I liked it immensely. I assure you that on my skin and in the heat, no one would suspect it is feminine. I am more convinced that most perfumes are unisex; your skin and mood will make the perfect complement. If you find it at a good price, do not hesitate to buy it. It is very cool.
As a buyer of citrus scents, I say this is one of the sweetest and spiciest I own. Although it is a fresh summer scent, I keep it in my collection for autumn because its citrus aroma is sweeter. The rose note is one I generally dislike, but here it is perfectly balanced. It is neither complex nor special, ideal for the office. I’m not sure if I would buy it again; it is that kind of versatile perfume for various contexts. I spray it and perceive the citrus note without acidity, sensing bergamot and roses with a touch of ginger, tea, and aliscler that give it lightness. Soon the woody note appears, which, together with the grass and tea, could be considered unisex-feminine. It reminds me of Tommy Girl, not in notes but in personality, like the adult and more autumnal version. If you want something sweet without being heavy, easy to wear, with a citrus touch without acidity, spiced, long-lasting and versatile, this could be a great option.
Masculine and elegant; if you are seeking femininity, this may not be the optimal choice. If you want formality and presence, then yes. It has a good trail. I was surprised it was the only perfume I’ve owned that evaporated completely when stored in its box with the lid on, in a good place.
Masculine and elegant, perhaps not the optimal choice if you’re looking for femininity. If you’re seeking formality and presence, yes. It has a good trail, but I’m surprised it’s the only perfume I’ve had that evaporated completely when stored in its box with the lid in a good place 🤷🏻♀️.
I love it. It feels excessively citrusy only for the first few minutes, then becomes quite soft. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last very long on me. I like it for hot days.
This fragrance is a resounding NO on my skin. Although it’s very persistent, it lasts a long time and the scent is felt everywhere. If you like citrus you might like it, although it’s a very rare citrus, I feel it tried to mix with something sweet but it didn’t work, perhaps a bit herbal too. I smelled it on older people and it feels somewhat elegant, but not for someone young. I bought it thinking of the previous CH L’eau which is beautiful; it doesn’t resemble it in any way. It seems a very strange and ill-judged mix to me, but I suppose it could work on some people. I recommend trying it first.
This fragrance is a resounding no on my skin. While it is very persistent, lasting an incredibly long time and projecting everywhere, it might appeal to those who like citrus. It’s an unusual citrus scent; I felt it tried to blend with something sweet but failed, perhaps also herbal. I’ve smelled it on older individuals and it can feel elegant, but not for someone young. I bought it expecting it to resemble the previous CH L’eau, which is lovely; it bears no resemblance to it at all. It strikes me as a strange and ill-judged blend, though I suppose it could work for some people. I recommend testing it first.
To me, this perfume smells citrusy from start to finish, but very, very citrusy. First, it smells of lemon, quite acidic and sharp. Then, bitter lemon peel. The green tea note confuses me; it’s quite noticeable.
It smells citrusy from start to finish, but with great intensity. At first, it’s a very sharp, zesty lemon, followed by a bitter rind. The green tea note throws me off, and by the way, it’s quite noticeable.
I tried it on blotter paper and it’s very lovely: citrus at the start, then a hint of white flowers with rose standing out against a moderately sweet and fresh patchouli base. I recommend it; you should try it on skin.
One of my favourites for the heat. It’s citrusy and spicy, although some might find it masculine, it doesn’t detract from anything for me. It looks refined, sober, and formal for the office, without overwhelming or annoying anyone. I’ve been praised for it a lot and it’s perfect for the daily work routine.
One of my favourites for hot weather. It’s citrusy and spiced; I agree it’s a little masculine, but that doesn’t take anything away from it. It feels refined, understated and formal for the office. It doesn’t overwhelm or project too much to annoy others. People have praised it to me. I adore it for everyday work.
For an EDT, the longevity and trail are incredible. Very fresh and sparkling, ideal for hot days. It’s citrusy and very spicy; I sense a distinct note, it must be the chilli. That spice is on the edge of what I like, perhaps a bit strong and could result in being intrusive. It suits me very well in the office in summer. I’m not a big fan of citrus, but I like this one quite a bit and it carries the CH seal.
For an EDT, its longevity and sillage are impressive. Very fresh and sparkling, ideal for hot days. It’s citrusy and highly spiced; I detect a distinct note in other citrus scents, likely chilli. That spicy note is on the edge of my taste, perhaps a bit strong and could come across as intrusive. It suits the office well in heat, which is where I wear it. I’m not a huge fan of citrus, but I like this one quite a lot and it carries the CH signature.
My favourite Carolina Herrera scent has a unique DNA, just about everything from the brand. I absolutely love it.
