The generalised complaint about the reformulation of Guerlain’s classics is that they are far too light and lack longevity compared to the originals. As for Chamade, I haven’t tried the vintage, which is said to have been denser and creamier. The current EDT is light, luminous and transparent. I believe these characteristics suit a floral fragrance perfectly. The modern Chamade is an ode to hyacinth and practically captures the very beginning of spring in a bottle. I love it!
