Descripción
Chance Eau Fraîche by Chanel is a floral chypre fragrance for women. Launched in 2007, this composition was created by perfumer Jacques Polge. Its top notes of lemon, sour lime, cedar and bergamot offer a fresh and vibrant opening. The heart reveals the delicacy of water hyacinth, pink pepper and jasmine. Finally, the base notes unfold a woody and sensual sequence with white musk, patchouli, vetiver, teakwood, iris and amber.

To me, it’s the perfect blend of freshness and elegance. The cedar and lemon have an incredible balance, supported by the vetiver which stands out on me and which I like. That’s why many perceive it as masculine, but I love that strength it projects. It lasts well on skin (6 hours) and even better on clothes, with just the right projection: that wave of scent everyone feels but which doesn’t overwhelm or bore anyone. Without a doubt, it will return to my collection.
With its hydrating lotion, it’s the perfect combination, even for bedtime. I love it.
A fairly simple fragrance that reminds me very much of Natura’s citrus grove. Nice, but that’s about it.
Just arrived! It’s fresh yet sweet at the same time. As far as I can tell, it lasts quite a while on my skin and feels wonderful. The scent isn’t overpowering; it’s rich… I bought it blind.
Fresh, cheerful and soft, with interesting citrus notes that are sophisticated rather than childish. Perfect for hot days, casual dates with friends, or a day out with your partner. Without a doubt, one of my favourites.
It arrived as a gift and wasn’t something I would have bought, but I admit it’s perfect for summer or after a shower on a hot day. It’s ideal for taking a break from sweet scents or my heavier fragrances. It smells clean, fresh and soapy, very well. It gives a spring feeling, of a wealthy but clean and simple woman. I know it sounds silly, but with my new pilates classes I use it to go to lessons; it’s pleasant, delicate and perfect even for meditation.
I love it when I smell it on someone else, but on me I can’t stand it all day; it feels very sour and woody. A friend says it lasts all day and in the heat I think it outlasts others in the Chance collection. It easily passes for unisex. It reminds me of classics like CK One, Light Blue, Acqua di Gioia or Aire Loco. It’s a rich citrus, but very generic.
Clean, citrusy and a bit soapy… it’s fine for after a shower or on stifling days, but it’s not the kind of scent I’d pay Chanel prices for. Just a matter of taste.
The executive’s summer scent. As I adore floral citrus, I tried this Chanel. It’s fresh, with a touch of talc and soapy, managing the citrus and patchouli well without either dominating. Although citrus notes usually suggest holidays, this smells more formal, ideal for work or going out to feel polished on a doggy day. It resembles Versace Eros and Light Blue (all have lemon, cedar, jasmine and musk), but this is more talcum-powdery, formal and feminine. I loved it and couldn’t resist taking one home.
Nothing from Chanel really suits me, except this one. It’s super fresh, clean and full of energy. I think it’s unisex and in my city, at 35 degrees, it’s pure gold; the hotter and more humid it gets, the better it performs.
Indeed, it’s a fairly normal citrus, nothing special. I understand that some people consider it masculine or unisex; I suppose it depends on the skin as for me it’s definitely very feminine, fresh, woody, and slightly sweet. It’s like a refreshing lemonade. The price is quite high, but sometimes it can be found in ‘tester’ format which makes it much more economical. If you like citrus, it’s required that you at least visit a department store to smell it and perhaps obtain a sample.
The days here in Chile are already hot, at least where I live (the north), so I was looking for a fragrance for this summer as I’ll be travelling with friends on holiday and I like to wear a perfume to more vividly remember memories. I chose this because I love Chanel perfumes and this one pleased me. Fresh and I’d say even unisex. I bought the 150 ml version because, as I’ve read, it doesn’t have very good longevity, so I’ll probably apply it several times a day. I still prefer the Eau Tendre (EDP) from this line as I find it more ‘feminine’. However, I’m very happy with my purchase.
I’ve never been a follower of Chanel fragrances because most don’t resonate with my sense of smell. Of the few I enjoy are the Bleu line, which I like all of, some of the Allure, although the men’s versions last me 20 minutes, and Coco Mademoiselle, which was and remains highly relevant and a strong hook for the younger audience. Undoubtedly, following the success of the latter, they pursued that path with the Chance line and its playful, youthful campaigns. Chance always seemed too similar to Coco Mademoiselle to be frank, but this flanker, ‘Eau Fraiche’, diverges significantly to the point of not resembling it, except for the notes of patchouli, pink pepper, and jasmine, which are blended differently here. It’s a purely woody-citrus fragrance where lemon and cedar are total protagonists; the latter forms a fundamental part of the structure and is felt throughout the duration. To this, we add a juicy, fresh jasmine, more focused on its green aspect, along with a very measured patchouli, slightly sweetened by the pink pepper and transparently musky. Water Hyacinth lends it a very clean, soapy floral character, which, together with the vetiver note, accentuates the fresh and woody character, surprisingly unisex. Ideal for summer with correct longevity, but on fresher days it’s noticeable that it lasts much longer as temperatures aren’t stifling. Another fragrance I’m adding to the few I enjoy from the house.
I adore this fragrance; it’s unisex, almost masculine, and I love it. So fresh, so pretty. It feels very woody and citrusy, ideal for summer. Its trail, projection, and longevity are moderate, but I don’t mind having to reapply; I simply love it.
I don’t understand why this didn’t have more impact than Eau Tendre; it’s a thousand times richer.
It’s a perfume that irresistibly attracts women who wear it. Do I make myself clear…?
Has anyone noticed that the opening smells exactly like Starwalker? Despite seeming somewhat masculine, I love it for refreshing myself on extreme heat days and nights; its citrus and woods are delicious, so I enjoy it quite a bit. The only thing that doesn’t add up is the performance regarding the price: for what it offers, I consider it very expensive. I found a very good equivalent, so I don’t intend to spend what the original costs.
I have it because it was a gift, but I wouldn’t buy it myself. It’s pretty, but nothing special: a standard citrus that I even find very artificial. I also detect a touch of green apple, though it’s not there. 6/10.
I’m not a fan of fresh, citrusy perfumes; they bore me quickly. I have about four or five of this type and always end up giving them away or swapping them. Whatever people say, emptying a full bottle is an achievement for me, and guess what? My last drops of Chance Eau Fraiche are there. It’s nothing extraordinary, smelling of lemonade with a woody base. It’s perfect for hot days as it projects well and lasts quite a while on the skin. Whenever I wear it, someone asks what I’m wearing. I won’t be buying it again due to the high price, but it’s a good perfume and I recommend it from the bottom of my heart.
Another absolutely lovely scent, but with a more citrusy note than the previous one. I’d buy both without hesitation. My only concern is longevity; this one lasted a bit longer than the other.
Fresh citrus with a wood note that grounds it and flowers that harmonise. Suitable for every day. A calm lemon that gives energy without fuss.
This flanker usually appeals to those who dislike Chanel or oriental scents. Curiously, I, who love green and woody waters, don’t see anything in it. It’s not that ugly to dismiss it outright; it looks nice in the catalogue, offering a modernised take for users of green fragrances. But to my taste… it’s neither comfortable nor relaxing. Eau Fraîche makes me cringe due to an unbearable lemon note that dominates from start to finish. The lemon with the apple makes me taste a large quince, unwashed, freshly picked from the tree, sticky and fuzzy. To me, it smells like pickled quince with a damp woody background. If the opening has a sharp lemon, the dry-down is worse: the flowers fade and what remains is a boring, maddening lemonade. It lacks musk and wood to be interesting. I can understand why people compare it to Allure Homme Sport, one of Chanel’s most off-putting scents for smelling like Adidas deodorant. It’s strong, but in this Chance, the citrus and woods are brighter until that image disappears. The dry-down is unbearable: a lemon meant to bore, with a hint of toastiness or saltiness, perhaps from the teak and amber. A real pain in a beautiful bottle. I like that it exists, yet it terrifies me. PS: It doesn’t resemble Versense; that is a sensual, spicy, narcotic green floral. PS II: It’s more similar to Dylan Blue Turquoise, which smells sourer and more acidic. The trail is weak, but longevity seems good if you get close.
I remember that at school, whenever a teacher passed by, my nose couldn’t believe what it perceived. It was so impactful that, even though they weren’t teaching me and I didn’t know them, I approached to ask. When they said it was Chanel Chance and their mother’s, I confirmed it was a feminine and sophisticated fragrance. I love it.
The opening is rich, sparkling lemon and apple, followed by jasmine and pepper giving way to amber, musk and wood that lends a country luxury, like a fresh afternoon with friends. It evokes beautiful places and suits all ages. The good thing is its long-lasting power and a strong trail that lingers wherever you go. Chanel is quality and elegance; you’re sure to receive many compliments.
Fresh, clean and subtle for everyday wear: perfect after the gym, by the seaside or with friends. Nothing extraordinary, but ideal for well-behaved girls. On my skin, it lasts at most six hours; in my opinion, it’s not worth the investment except for the brand name.
So fresh, clean and delicious; I feel it’s super unisex and perfect for the heat. The dry-down is spectacular.
Citrusy and fresh fragrance. Although they say it’s unisex, in my opinion Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum is more unisex, complex and has better projection. This version is simpler and easier to wear, but its longevity disappointed me: three hours and then it disappears as if I hadn’t applied anything.
The scent is very fresh, citrusy and elegant, but unfortunately on my skin it lasts only a couple of hours with a low trail. For the price, it’s not worth it; for the same style but much longer-lasting, I have the Versace Versace which lasts 6-8 hours on clothes and is cheaper than Chanel.
I’ve been thinking about it for a year before diving into the world of perfumes and it really attracts me. It’s unisex, citrusy, herbal and energising; I love it, but the price-to-longevity ratio is brutal (I haven’t tried it on myself) and that’s stopping me from wearing it.
Smells super citrusy, fresh and clean, but it vanishes in a jiffy; it doesn’t last at all.
The scent people have teased me about most unfortunately doesn’t last at all. I only use it for special moments.
Too unisex for my taste. I found it very citrusy and musky. The good thing is that as soon as it was applied, it faded, leaving only the patchouli on the skin, which always gets ingrained in me. It disappointed me and I won’t buy it again.
One of my favourite recent discoveries. I love citrus, aquatic and woody scents, and this is all of them. I know citrus doesn’t last as long as cloying sweets (which I don’t like), but I was surprised: six to seven hours on the skin and eight on clothes. Other citrus last me less than four. The performance is very good. Yes, it is unisex; if you are a fan of powdery and honeyed scents, this isn’t for you.
For me, the best perfume in history. Perfect balance between acidity and sweetness.
I was fascinated. It is fresh and warm, with the just-right aroma of lemon and a sweetness that isn’t cloying. One of the best I have tried.
Not one of my favourites. I use it for sleeping, the gym or the beach, and even as a room freshener, but I don’t like it for myself. It has been a disappointment. My summer is Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana and, with fresh and herbal perfumes, that one always wins. I wouldn’t recommend it as a gift because you need to smell it; it is aquatic and woody. Like all citrus, it doesn’t last long on the skin. If I had to define it: unisex, citrus and herbal, but expensive for its scarce longevity. This is my opinion, respecting everyone.
Ideal for extreme heat, it lasts five hours and is totally unisex. Balanced with a woody and masculine base.
Very woody and totally unisex; I even think it would suit a man better. It opens fresh, but as it dries it becomes a soft, clean and woody scent. On my skin the iris stands out; it’s not my favourite, but it has a lovely softness and cleanliness. I won’t buy it for my own tastes, but for anyone who likes woody and clean scents, it could be perfect.
Very fresh, citrusy and powerful, but the truth is I am much more in love with the Chance feminine. This one… well, it hasn’t won me over. The longevity and trail are just normal, nothing more.
Last year, with my mind set on gourmands, I tried Chance Eau Fraîche out of curiosity upon seeing the pink box. Instantly, goodbye heavy vanilla; here was something elegant, citrusy and woody that made me hesitate. Then, with Le Sel d’Issey, everything clicked: I no longer seek the sweet, but the intimate, salty and clean. Chance Eau Fraîche evokes the Chanel atelier: white flowers in sober vases, beige wood and an androgynous elegance. The opening is citrusy, like dish soap, then fresh and masculine. As it dries, a shy, powdery floral sweetness. I love that when I wash my clothes with it, it mixes the detergent with its trail; it smells of spring and people have told me I smell like that. <3
