Cherry Stain 01 Deep Wild Gourmand by Zara

It’s the closest thing I’ve smelt to Lost Cherry by Tom Ford, at least at that price. Delicious, dense cherry, like a lollipop without being sickly or childish. Longevity isn’t anything special, but the sillage is very good. Also, it’s completely unisex. I gave it to my boyfriend and since then I wear it too whenever I can.

Forget the other one (the 02), it’s rubbish. It smells like £2 cologne from AliExpress. But this one… We have a Zara fragrance that, for once, seems not to lie about the declared notes. I only notice the 3 that come on the website: black cherry, cherry blossom, and white oud. The cherry lasts a moment, but that’s almost better, because it ends up being quite sickly for me after a while. It’s a VERY artificial cherry, to the point of smelling like “Kojak”. It smells good, it smells rich, but personally, I think it ends up being quite tiring. The sakura + white oud combo… a bloody madness. Both notes share the clean scent, white floral, and that depth often associated with masculinity. They head towards the same destination in a totally harmonious way. The only thing, I find it a bit basic, but I’m trying layering with others that have some oud, and so far I’m getting good results. It’s a fragrance that I’d say is more aimed at men, but it would look WONDERFUL on a woman. Longevity, pretty good, honestly, typical of all these Zara men’s collections with the cylindrical bottle and textured cap (the Tobacco, Vanilla, etc). About 2-3 hours with very good projection, then it recedes to skin level, until disappearing at the 7th or 8th hour. Very spring and summer. Maybe autumn, but in winter it won’t perform at all… I don’t understand people rating it as a fragrance for cold seasons. Here everyone acts clever, and they don’t get it right. Anyway, £15.95 for something that smells good, that you can wear for almost anything whether you’re 20 or 40, and that, moreover, doesn’t follow any of the current designer fragrance trends for a male audience.
