Very similar to its EDT sibling but with more shine, body, and texture. That original mix of sour and sweet gives me a bittersweet sensation, added to the vetiver/narcissus which provides a cappuccino tone with warmth and body. Much more potent, rounded, and brilliant than the EDT. It’s not worth owning both; this is vastly superior. Today, 10th April 2025, I correct myself and say I prefer the EDT. Yes, it’s lighter, projects more, and lacks that powdery touch that saturates.
Same DNA as the traditional Society, just more intense due to the coffee, lily-of-the-valley root, and a herbal base of various vetivers with a vanilla touch. Too much hype for my taste, but yes, better than the first one!
Something sweet/floral with a coffee touch, cedar, and vetiver. Nothing abnormal; possibly one of the least original eau de perfumes. It’s masculine and quite so, somewhat playful but with no badboy vibe. It’s for going out, more at night. It goes with any outfit in different situations. It doesn’t stand out much, it’s not cloying, and it’s not out of the ordinary. I wouldn’t buy it; perhaps I’d receive it as a gift to use without heat or cold, something casual. It lasts about 5 hours; the woods dominate the base and the sweetness until the 2-hour mark. Coffee, vanilla, and a hint of mint give freshness, but each note is very subtle, nothing revealing. It resembles the VIPs by Carolina Herrera but is less sweet, more creamy and powdery. Perhaps it suits ages between 20 and 40. Nothing special, but it could be a signature scent. ORIGINALITY: 6/10 QUALITY: 7/10 VERSATILITY: 7.5/10 SCENT: 7/10 TRAIL: 7/10 PROJECTION: 8/10 PRICE: N/A TOTAL: 7.5/10 (very average)
Stronger with You Intensely with iris.
The problem, in my view, is the ZERO VERSATILITY. Notes I detect: NUTMEG, COFFEE, VETIVER. The rest accompanies in some way I don’t quite grasp. Night, cold, winter, date (few sprays), formal event. Longevity on skin averages 8 hours, projection above average.
Woody with coffee, slightly sweet. The coffee dominates significantly. The iris is very in the background. The comparison with Gentleman EDP seems ridiculous. It’s versatile in the cold; the hotter it gets, the more it reduces to something nocturnal. Summer, no. Excellent longevity, moderate projection. Masculine and semi-formal. A rich aroma, though I don’t identify with wearing it. Contradictions that sometimes happen.
Iris at the start, then after 15 minutes it fades, giving way to wood, nutmeg, coffee, and a touch of sweetness. It’s for short-distance dates; don’t expect to project wildly. Medium longevity.
One of the best coffee fragrances I’ve ever smelled. I don’t like the GENTLEMAN line, but this one does. Finally, no tonka bean!
I read the reviews and went to a perfumerie to try it. I was excited about a good coffee scent. The reality was different: after four sprays on clothes and skin, I couldn’t smell it on my skin an hour later. Perhaps I detect a faint alcohol note, but it’s minimal. My experience was like a bucket of cold water. Fortunately, I already have Coffie Addict by a Greek brand with a difficult name and I’m going in with high expectations.
Absolutely loved it! As a woman, it smells divine on my skin. Initially, the lily and mint are perfect—so fresh. Once it dries down, it becomes sweeter, with coffee and nut notes emerging. I find it very well-balanced. I’m thinking of buying it; I believe it works perfectly as a unisex scent. The idea of gendered perfumes is fading into the background… they are becoming increasingly versatile. I enjoy fragrances without labels. ✌️
It smells good, but the performance is very meagre, almost poor. It’s curious that most people claim it lasts, yet those same people praise Zara and complain… It’s simply not worth the price.
I hated it. It smells overwhelmingly of coffee.
Something strange happened to me… it smells better in the trail than on the skin. That blend of coffee and iris (I believe they removed it due to haters who can’t stand the original Gentleman) doesn’t suit me; it smells nice if… but there’s something unsettling about it. I don’t find it pleasant to wear like the Society. Although it evolves with flowers, sandalwood, vetiver and vanilla, the coffee and iris persist throughout while the other notes hide away. It lasts past eight hours, but the projection is low. Try it before buying; it’s not as versatile or comfortable as it seems.
I liked it; it’s sweet and reminds me hugely of Ferragamo’s Uomo, which I used to wear a lot. This one is more subdued, whereas the other was a real bomb. You can smell the coffee from the first spray; it doesn’t smell particularly natural, but it has the quality you’d expect from Givenchy. I wouldn’t buy it for the similarity, but it’s an interesting option.
The scent is top-notch and spectacular, yet it fades within an hour; neither my girlfriend, nor my grandmother, nor my mother could detect it even when right up close. Still, it remains one of the most elegant and rich fragrances I’ve ever tried.
Ugh, what a delight… ugh, what a short lifespan and zero projection. On skin it lasted three to four hours, with projection only for the first hour, even less; it fades quickly. The iris isn’t very prominent and only appears when fresh, disappearing as it dries. Once dry, it smells like Scandal Le Parfum but without that sweet, bright touch; instead, it lacks a coffee note. Yes, it’s more mature and elegant, but why does it last nothing?! These are heavy notes, they should be super long-lasting, I don’t understand.
No performance. Period.
Smells incredible, but the performance is a disaster.
Took my time writing this; I’m new to perfumes but I love fragrances. Upon spraying, I detect coffee and nutmeg; the second note lingers in the background supporting the coffee. It smells rich, sweet and striking, ideal for men, easy to wear without being intrusive, though it does require a good outfit. It’s quite linear: what you smell at the start lasts the whole time, about four hours (the first hour projects moderately before dropping significantly). Woods are noticeable, but the nutmeg, pleasant though a bit powdery, dominates. It’s good for cold weather and those around you will like it. The downside is the price, which is high but understandable given it’s a new release.
Smells like freshly brewed coffee and chocolate, super masculine and sexy without being cloying. It’s one of my favourites lately: it projects nothing, but I love feeling it on my clothes and skin. Top quality, ideal for intimacy or the office without annoying anyone. It truly tastes delicious and is nothing like the others. It’s been overlooked online for not filling the room, but for me it’s been worth it, even at the price. I prefer it to the Givenchy Gentleman; it feels more manly. Highly recommended to try.
Givenchy’s Gentleman Society Extreme is an excellent flanker of the line that adds iris root and coffee notes, bringing even more elegance and class to a beautiful, already established DNA by the house. The performance, both in longevity and projection, is within acceptable parameters; however, I think it could be a bit better, especially in projection. Despite this, its aroma is magnificent and enveloping. Personally, I like the original much and consider that this version improves even more on its aromatic profile.
I had a sample as a gift from another purchase and ended up buying it; that says it all. Absolutely rich.
I own Gentleman Society, Extreme, and Ambree. For me, the best of all is the original, Gentleman Society. It’s perfect. It has a very good iris (though not officially specified) and, in the base, a sweet and soft touch with vanilla. Super versatile, very feminine, balanced (unlike the Extreme), and precise. I’d put Extreme second. It’s not an intense-extreme version of the original; it’s a flanker. They are different. In a sense, it has more depth and complexity, is more masculine and dark, but it’s not better. And you have to like the coffee note (I’m not sure if this accord is actually coffee; it could perfectly be something else). It reminds me somewhat of Paco Rabanne’s Black XS and also the recent Dior Homme Parfum 2025. If you’re indifferent to the coffee note or simply don’t like it, you’ll prefer the original. Since the coffee note doesn’t convince me much, Extreme doesn’t improve on the original, so they aren’t redundant. I’d put Ambree third. I simply don’t like it; it doesn’t resemble the other two at all. It has a very particular flavour, and that flavour has to suit you. I don’t like that aroma. Update 12/4/2025: after trying it for several days, I like it more and more; it’s great, super sensual, and addictive. I prefer Ambree to Extreme. I also have Givenchy’s Gentleman Eau de Toilette Intense; for me, the original Society is also better than that. I also have the Gentleman Eau de Toilette with a pear accord, and again, I think the original Society is better. I had Gentleman Reservée Privée and I think the chestnut base or whatever it has is horrible. I can’t stand the smell, so I had to sell it.
It’s a pity; it feels generic. At first, the iris and coffee come out, and it seems new and different. But the dry-down makes me think of something I’ve heard hundreds of times; I can’t even say exactly which one, and it’s not the original.
Absolutely in love. It’s sexy, unique (no one in my circle owns it, and it’s not mass-produced), and a magnet for compliments. For now, it’s my favourite from the entire ‘Gentleman Society’ range. Despite being sweet, it has a more formal and adult dry-down than its rivals (Dior Homme Parfum, JPG Le Male Elixir, EA Stronger With You…). It smells like a sophisticated French dessert. With girls, it’s been a huge success; it never failed to surprise and provoke them wanting to get closer to smell me more than once. It’s completely winter/autumnal; I still wonder if I’d use it on a cool summer night, but in closed spaces with heat, it can be too heavy and lose its charm. I got it at a Júlia perfumeria in Andorra for 70€/100ml, and although it’s around 80-85€ in Spain (same capacity), I will definitely buy it again. 9/10.
I love it; its dry-down reminds me of Dior Homme Intense.
It’s deep and dark, warm and interesting. It keeps the coffee note throughout the hours. It lasts quite a bit longer than the original version and retains a slightly sweeter aroma, whereas the original does it in a drier way. I like it, but the projection drops a bit.
I tried it and it was wonderful. It smells like a blend of vetiver, coffee, and vanilla; my nose picks up that soft, vanilla-like coffee a lot. It’s a scent that embraces you, ideal for autumn. If you like chocolatey or coffee with vanilla notes, you must have it. Although it’s not new to me, it feels like a scent I’ve smelled before. Very rich; I’d wear it at 24 without a doubt. I loved this flanker.
I only have it as a decant. It smells very dense and dark; it’s for night and cold weather. It’s intense to the point of causing headaches if you smell it too much. A great perfume with a tender opening that later weighs a ton. Perhaps it’s a gourmand with coffee, but everyone sees it differently. It’s masculine and perfect for formal occasions. For those over 25. Simply tasty and formal.
Haha, they say coffee to avoid saying caramel 😂. Come on, it’s just like A*Men.
Subtle and super elegant, delicious. I love it.
A jewel. I was swayed by the reviews and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived; I’m not an expert, but it’s one of my favourites and the coffee note is definitely present. It’s totally a night scent; I highly recommend it.
Too much vetiver for my taste. It’s dense and dark, yet elegant; the mint leaves a refreshing aftertaste if you get close to the skin… It’s good, but with a very woody dry down and a vetiver that didn’t feel as prominent as the last time I used Encré Noir (that one has more vetiver without extra adornments, don’t get me wrong). I prefer the resinous aspect of its sibling, Ambrée.
Personally, I was disappointed by its dry down: the entire woody and nutmeg aroma disappears on my skin within 30–40 minutes, leaving a faint smell of tropical sunscreen. It’s not a bad perfume, but if you buy it, I recommend testing it on your skin for three or four days, both day and night, to properly evaluate its performance.
A real gem, incredibly rich in both opening and dry down. The coffee isn’t overpowering; it blends brilliantly with the other notes. If you want to start with a coffee note, try this. For me, all three Gentleman Society scents are fantastic; if you can, buy two or all three.
I was surprised from the start. It’s a very balanced blend that stands out without being excessive. I’m not an expert, but it quickly became one of my favourites. The coffee feels real, warm, slightly sweet, and sophisticated. It’s clearly a night scent, perfect for leaving an impeccable impression at special outings or dinners where you want to turn heads. Excellent longevity and sillage without being invasive, ideal for fresh weather. A great choice for a collection. 9/10
Strong, dry opening; the first 20 minutes feature vetiver with a coffee undertone that gives it body, then at 30 minutes the vanilla sweetness emerges while maintaining the line’s DNA. An excellent perfume. In my opinion, ideal for late afternoon to evening with formal wear, suited for those over 30.
Dries to a rich bitterness thanks to the coffee note; if you try it, test it on skin as it evolves beautifully. Projection and sillage are moderate, but longevity is excellent (at least eight hours). Perfect for birthdays, dates, or semi-formal dinners. Not for the high street or clubbing, as there are better options for that. I received compliments. 9/10
Fresh, elegant, and masculine. I recommend it for cold climates and evening events. It has good longevity and projects just enough to be enchanting without being annoying.
One of my top three: opens with freshly cut wood and sawdust, dries down to coffee, and finishes vanilla. A mature, formal yet modern scent. Moderate performance; ideal for dates, though you’ll need to reapply for long events like weddings. Many people ask about it and give compliments. If it had better longevity, it would be five stars, but I’m deducting a point only because it’s so unique and rich. ⭐⭐⭐⭐★
