We needed a light version of Good Girl; given how potent and long-lasting its fixative is, we were looking for something ultra-light and fresh. To please its fans, they’ve released this version that swaps the fixative for shoe glitter. Wow. The bottle is more eye-catching, but the contents don’t quite pay for it. It’s ghostly and leaves a scent lasting only 30 minutes, like weak fabric softener or detergent. That’s all there is to it. It’s curious that, when they sell eye-catching bottles, the fragrances tend to be so faint, imperceptible within 10 minutes?
This is the Good Girl version that’s right for me: softer, yet without losing longevity (8 hours is very acceptable). Medium intensity. The star is the jasmine, balanced by coffee and subtle woods; it’s the most elegant on my skin because it doesn’t overwhelm the praline note, which in the original is suffocating. If the original floods your senses and gives you a headache, this could be your solution. Excellent in cold weather, day or night. Although they claim it’s the same with a different packaging, it isn’t. Try it on your skin.
The bottle is ridiculously tacky… the glitter makes it look utterly ordinary. The scent? Well, it’s a lighter version of the original Good Girl, nothing extraordinary.
For me, it’s the summer version of my all-time favourite commercial scent, Good Girl; it smells almost identical but I wear it in the heat during the day. The jasmine stands out more than in other versions. A wonderful fragrance, just like the rest of their range. It’s hard to believe that until recently, their bottles used to put me off… how much I was missing out on…
