L'Eau de Neroli by Diptyque is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2008, the nose behind this composition is Olivier Pescheux. The top notes are citrus, bergamot, lemon verbena (lemon balm, sweet verbena), petit grain and tarragon; the heart notes are neroli, orange blossom and Egyptian geranium; the base notes are beeswax, white musk and cedar.

Every serious perfumery house has its own take on neroli, and this Diptyque one is discreet, calming and suitable for the whole family. It’s impossible not to like it because it respects that luminous citrus and floral atmosphere of neroli without overcomplicating things or taking unnecessary risks. It surely recalls classic, historical formulas working this note. It’s the neroli of old that will never annoy anyone.
Super fine, citrusy and aromatic neroli. It feels fresh, green and lovely, but to be honest, you can find nothing like it in much cheaper fragrances. The longevity is very poor, lasting a maximum of 2-3 hours with a weak sillage. It doesn’t resemble Portofino too closely; the Tom Ford version feels more neroli-based and less citrusy. Although the longevity isn’t world-class, I would definitely keep it for the scent.
