On first try, I thought: how familiar! But once I confirmed it’s the clone of Estée Lauder’s Youth Dew, everything clicked into place.

A Dior in its prime, hoping Francis Kurkdjian brings it back. It starts fresh and heavy, then settles into a curious herbal aromatic blend. I struggle to define it; it has a vintage, green, earthy harmony that is fresh and beautifully complex. It doesn’t resemble anything I’ve smelled before. I love exploring scents with such a rich history.

Superior quality to many niche fragrances, but it’s not my cup of tea. The opening recalls Miss Dior EDT Original; a patchouli that, without wishing to offend, sounds dated (I hope we don’t crucify those who speak in absolutes like with Invictus or Sauvage). Still, I tolerate it, perhaps better than Miss Dior, as the dry-down lasts less. There is no harsh alcohol or muddy notes; instead, there is brilliance and richness. I detect little geranium; the evolution turns 100% into a gourmand cinnamon, akin to Lolita Lempicka. It’s a rare twist that doesn’t quite fit for me, but I was utterly won over.
