A friend in London also bought it blind for me, just like Annabel, seeking that scent of rain or sea salt. I wanted a feminine version of Kenzo for Men, which smells of the sea to me, and when I tried it, it seemed wonderful. The downside is they sent me the small bottle and it runs out quickly; I haven’t thrown it away because I smell it all the time. I can’t find anything else like it. My sister loved it too: it smells of rain, white flowers, and cleanliness. I asked a flight attendant friend to look for it at airports, but it’s out of stock and no longer produced. I’m heartbroken searching for something similar, so if anyone knows of one, please advise me. Thank you.
I believe this is the perfume that has cost me the most to obtain, a blind purchase online when I was determined to find a fragrance that ‘smelled of rain’. Rain by Marc Jacobs wasn’t exactly what I expected, but generally it is very pleasant. Its scent is woody ‘wet’, if such a thing is possible, with a sweet touch (I suppose it is the strawberry and mandarin). Before seeing the notes here on Fragrantica, I was tearing my hair out wondering what was smelling strange in this perfume, and seriously, I found something odd among its notes, something ‘yellow’ or_O, although colours have no scent (or who knows, haha). Anyway, I finally checked and it must be the sunflower because I don’t know or have any other perfume with that note. Although I think it is very difficult to describe a scent precisely, I could say it smells similar to the leaves of books when they become old and yellowed. Of course, that is just my impression. Longevity and sillage are moderate, but reapplying it is no problem as the bottle is ENORME.
