This new Dior launch seems very apt for these hot months; the quality of the notes is incredible, it’s delicious. It reminds me of how well-crafted Hermès perfumes are, with that earthy orange touch, and here François Demachy achieves it with red fruits and citrus. When I first smelled it, it didn’t surprise me much, but after two weeks and using it thoroughly thanks to a vial gifted with Colle Noire, I was very pleased. Highly recommended if you want to give a twist to your collection of ‘heavy’ perfumes and are looking for something more wearable, casual, rich, juicy, and pleasant.
Can you make a red fruit perfume that isn’t cloying, but sophisticated, carefree, and cheerful, avoiding the usual acidity? Dior achieves this with Rouge Trafalgar, although I didn’t like it enough to justify the price. It smells very pleasant and airy, with a citrus base that makes it fresh and wearable. At first, I notice a hard-to-identify green touch, then it becomes soapy and musky as it dries. It evokes cleanliness; I like that the red fruits are in such a clean, fresh, and non-sweet composition. But the sillage seems subtle. The duration is good, about 7 hours on my skin, and it’s totally unisex. It’s a scent for spring or summer, evoking elegance from simplicity. For winter, I’ve read it makes good layering with Feve Delicieuse, and I’ll keep my decant to try it. Update: the mix with Feve Delicieuse pleased me; it adds warmth and weight, making it suitable for fresh days. Scent 7/10, Duration 7/10, Sillage 6/10, Value for money 5/10, Versatility 7.5/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy again? I didn’t buy it.
A true delight: a mix of red fruits with a solid grapefruit peel base. Imagine that almost orange-pink hue; the best part is that with three sprays, it smells good in a small room without saturating. The only gripe is the price, as Angel ou Demon Le Secret smells similar but with tea instead of grapefruit, although the sweet blueberries are similar to this Dior one. Be careful, they aren’t identical; they only share a touch. Is it feminine? I have ‘masculine’ perfumes that are sweeter, so this leans more towards unisex. Ideal for a hot day if you don’t want the typical aquatic. I recommend it, provided you don’t mind the pinch in the pocket.
A genuine delight. Smells like a blend of red fruits with a firm grapefruit base. If you can picture it, it should be that almost orange-pink, and the best part is that three sprays fill a small room without being overpowering. The downside? The price. Angel ou Demon Le Secret for women smells similar but with tea instead of grapefruit, and the sweet blueberries are akin to this Dior one, though not identical; they just share a touch. Is it feminine? I have sweeter ‘masculine’ perfumes, so I’d say it’s unisex. Ideal for a hot day if you don’t want to wear the typical aquatic. I recommend it, provided your arm doesn’t ache from the cost.
An ethereal and feminine perfume, fresh, reminiscent of other red fruit scents but with that special Dior touch. Its sillage on me is weak, the trail moderate, and it lasts about 6 hours. I certainly like it; ideal for hot days or after a bath. The notes are very realistic and of outstanding quality, although the price seems very high for the duration and sillage it projects. A good perfume at an unpleasant cost.
An ethereal, feminine, and fresh perfume reminiscent of other red fruit scents but with that special Dior touch. Its projection is weak, the trail moderate, and it lasts about six hours. I certainly like it, especially for warm days or after a shower; the notes are very realistic and of outstanding quality. However, the price seems too high for the longevity and trail it projects. A good perfume at an unkindly price.
I bought the mini to try it, and it didn’t disappoint. It smells of very fresh raspberry juice thanks to the citrus; it’s feminine and charming—a sweet note that doesn’t overwhelm or cloy, and smelling it reminds you of fuchsia. I see it as perfect for spring and summer. I’ll keep testing it, but it lasts 4 hours before I need to reapply.
I tried this perfume and fell in love. Those delicate red fruits, that strawberry that lingers throughout the perfume and finishes with a citrus touch like Hermès’ bitter orange. It’s fascinating. In my opinion, very similar to Miss Dior Cherie; the only difference is that at the end, instead of jasmine, there’s the citrus touch I mentioned. I see it as perfect for spring and summer. It seems fabulous to me.
I fell in love testing it. Those delicate red fruits, that enduring strawberry, finishing with a citrus touch like bitter orange, à la Hermès. It’s fascinating. In my opinion, very similar to Miss Dior Cherie, except at the end, instead of jasmine, there’s that citrus touch. I see it as perfect for spring and summer. It’s fabulous to me.
I bought the mini to try it out and it didn’t disappoint. It’s like smelling raspberry juice mixed with citrus, feminine and charming; a sweet scent that doesn’t overwhelm or cloy, and when you smell it, you imagine fuchsia. I see it as perfect for spring and summer, but on me it lasts four hours before I need to reapply.
At first, it smells like medicinal syrup, perhaps due to the mix of red fruits which are strong on my skin. Then the musk and citrus soften that sweetness. As it dries, the fruits remain, especially cherry and raspberry, slightly acidic due to the citrus, reminding me of cherry ‘Certs’ lozenges. In summary, it’s fruity without being gourmand, making it wearable. Unfortunately, I don’t like red fruits in general, so I wouldn’t buy it, but it’s a good perfume. Unlike similar ones, I wore it all day because it’s refined and not overwhelming. If you’re looking for a cherry scent without being too sweet or synthetic, it could be a good option.
Love at first sniff. Rouge Trafalgar took my fancy from the very first whiff. If I have a gripe, it’s that on my skin it lasts longer for me; about 3-4 hours. It’s sweet but not too much, citrusy without being overly so. A perfect balance. Fruity, tasty, fresh, delicate, and elegant. An ideal fragrance for spring-summer.
Happy Children’s Day and sniffed. I rarely use feminine perfumes, and this is the only one in my collection. It’s a delight that, upon atomising, strikes the cerebral cortex in microseconds, generating pure joy—an uncontrollable emotion that makes you smile. It’s instant aromatherapy without a diffuser. The projection is powerful and invasive from the start. I love it as much as my Dior Homme Cologne 2022; that ‘I can’t believe it’ feeling of immense happiness. I tested it against the Private Collection: Vanilla Diorama, Ambre Nuit, Spice Blend, Sakura, Oud Ispahan, and Tobacolor, but Rouge Trafalgar 2020 takes the crown, time and time again. It’s super versatile, suitable for day, night, cold, heat, and any season. It doesn’t bother anyone, and it’s hard to find someone who wouldn’t like it. Just not for formal occasions, unless you’re rebellious, hehe. A friend calls it ‘fine rice’; those who understood, understood. It’s sexy-naive and playful, explaining its feminine side. Although Fragrantica lists it for women, it smells of red fruits, acidic, sweet, cheerful, luminous, and bubbly—something so noble that I believe men, women, children, and older people would all enjoy it. My favourite note in feminine scents is raspberry, which predominates over strawberry, mixed with blackcurrants. If you have it, enjoy it; if you’re thinking of buying it, don’t hesitate, buy blind; 100% recommended.
Happy Children’s Day and happy sniffing. I usually don’t wear feminine fragrances; this is the only one in my collection. It is a true delight. These are the scents that, upon spraying, volatilise instantly, reach the cerebral cortex, and generate pure joy, an uncontrollable emotion that makes it hard not to smile. It’s instant aromatherapy without a diffuser. The projection is very good, potent and invasive; you smell it because you smell it from the start. I love it as much as my favourite citrus masculine, Dior Homme Cologne 2022: that ‘I can’t believe it’ sensation, what a rich smell and what immense happiness. I tested it alongside others from the Dior Private Collection: Vanilla Diorama, Ambre Nuit, Spice Blend, Sakura, Oud Ispahan and Tobacolor. If I had to choose one, I’d stick with Rouge Trafalgar, once and for all. Super versatile, used day or night, in cold or heat, any season, it doesn’t bother anyone and it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t like it. The only thing is, it’s not for formal occasions, unless you’re very rebellious jiji. It amuses me that a close friend described it as ‘fine rice’; those who understood, understood. If it’s a bit sexy-naive and playful, I understand why it looks feminine. They put it here for women, but it’s a red fruit scent, acidic, sweet, cheerful, luminous, bubbly, so noble and universal that I believe men, women, children, girls, adults, older people, anyone of any age would enjoy it. My favourite olfactive note in feminines is raspberry, and in this big perfume it predominates; I don’t feel the strawberry much; I’d say it’s a mix of raspberry and blackcurrants. If you already have it, enjoy it; if you’re thinking of buying it, don’t hesitate, buy blind, 100% recommended.
A rich yet predictable gem; reminiscent of Natura’s fruity scents, though the quality is on another level. It dries down to a musk bomb with patchouli and florals. Initially, it’s super unisex and makes you smile, but later it leans feminine. In the mid-notes, there’s cassis, a green touch, and grapefruit that smells like acidic passionfruit. It projects massively but fades quickly; after 3 hours it’s a skin scent and by 8 hours it’s gone, though it lingers on clothes until washed. For the price, it’s brilliant—it smells exquisite. If you’re a woman, buy it; you’ll be full of compliments.
