Descripción
Very Irresistible by Givenchy is a fruity floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2003, this composition was created by Dominique Ropion, Sophie Labbé and Carlos Benaïm. The top notes feature cassia accompanied by citron, lemon balm, sweet verbena and star anise. The heart reveals a floral harmony with rose, peony and magnolia, while the base closes with a sensual touch of Taif rose, musk, vanilla and patchouli.

I have the luck of visiting a renowned French perfumery shop that sells only French and exclusive international brands, but mostly French. The best advice they give is: apply the fragrance directly to the wrist, don’t rub it. Wait fifteen or twenty minutes, better thirty, while looking at other things. This way you’ll see how the scent settles; that’s the one that will remain, depending on your pH or whether you have dry or oily skin. That’s why, if you’re going to buy an L’Eau de Parfum or toilette, the best thing is to go straight out of the shower, test it on the wrist, and see the results. It never fails. Best wishes.
It smells like stationery paper… those decorated ones you used to find in bookshops.
Feminine, elegant, sexy… It’s that perfume that ‘dresses’ you. It has a trail that draws a lot of attention. I easily recognise it on any woman who wears it; it’s one of my favourites.
I’m wearing the EDT today. I have a miniature I don’t know how long I’ve had, but it smells good and strong. At first, I detect lemon-basil, which is my favourite; it gives a herbal touch. I had that plant in my garden as a child and loved its scent and taste, we drank it as a tisane. I also notice a very subtle, integrated anise. Then the roses with the flowers, all mixed together, pleasant, clean, fresh, yet deep. It seems attractive and balanced, and I think it’s easy to dose because with the second or third application, the trail and intensity increase.
A beautiful fragrance. Super sexy yet elegant, ideal for a special night. It’s been on the market for years without going out of fashion. It’s an incomparable jewel. Very well thought out to feature Liv Tyler; she exudes sensuality and elegance just like the perfume.
It has a brutal longevity. I like citrus, but I tried it by chance in the morning. By evening, it still smelled good and didn’t bother me; it’s a soft, deep rose, like smelling… on a t-shirt, it still smelled the next day. I bought it and have no regrets; it’s very special.
It’s pure rose, elegant. It’s not discreet, yet it lacks a strong personality; I see it as super versatile for day or night, heat or cold. I love it; it’s one of the few I’ve worn more than twice.
It’s a super elegant and soft floral rose, with a very noticeable anise. It reminds me of a sophisticated anise infusion, sweet pastries, and a vase of roses. It made me think of Ralph Lauren’s Style.
Look, according to the description, where is the fruity note? It sounds more floral-green to me, doesn’t it?
Mazo is a total addiction. I don’t wear it because it’s my mother’s signature scent.
I like perfumes with rose and was looking for one for summer. The opening did not suit me due to the herbal ingredients; I felt an almost bitter touch. After a few minutes, the roses, anise, citronella and magnolia become noticeable. Over the hours, only the flowers remain: fresh, coquettish, sexy and feminine. It could be worn at work with light application, but I see it more as a choice for a night out in summer or spring, suitable for a date or event. They chose Liv Tyler very well as the model; I can imagine her in a lovely dress, painted lips and a coquettish attitude.
Editing my previous review: I love perfumes with rose, and here it is the star. There is no olfactory pyramid; it is divided into two parts: initially a spicy, almost bitter herbal aroma, with anise, citronella and cassia invading the surroundings. Then, after ten or twenty minutes, the flowers emerge, a beautiful bouquet of roses, super feminine, coquettish and chic. It is a modern floral. I bought it for summer, but the projection is better noticed in autumn or spring; at higher temperatures it can be excessive. As it is no longer so in vogue, you can wear it without feeling like everyone else, but with caution during the day. Ideal for dates or events, paired with something coquettish. I still think Liv Tyler represents its spirit very well: feminine, coquettish and sensual.
This is my record-breaking purchase. It is impossible for me to have a signature scent as I always change fragrance and rarely repeat. I even have old bottles I never finished. But without a doubt, ‘Very Irresistible’ is the closest I have come. I have had it since 2003; I use it occasionally to avoid getting bored, and it is the only one I return to, still enjoying it as much as the first day. I have tried other editions but they do not convince me. I love its sophisticated yet non-intrusive floral scent. It is elegant and sexy at the same time, versatile for any time of day and season. I also own the body cream, which leaves the scent all over the skin with a subtle sheen.
I remember the madness surrounding this fragrance; everyone was wearing it, and the streets smelled of ‘Very Irresistible’. It is versatile, fresh, long-lasting and interesting, magnetic to both young and older people. Marketing and Liv Tyler catapulted it to success. Today it still speaks for itself with its variants. The original 2003 EDT opens with a sweet rose enriched with anise. The rose structure is neither heavy nor metallic; it is like a spring breeze, aquatic and fresh but intense. The musk and verbena provide that idea, while the vanilla pulses from the depths, emerging over time. A flexible floral that does not lose its character and lasts quite a bit for an EDT. An excellent move by Givenchy.
Delicious, floral and fruity, but it lacks longevity and projection. I showered with it two hours ago and can only detect it faintly on my skin. Longevity 4/10, projection 3/10.
One of my favourites. It’s intense but not tiring, sweet but not cloying. It lasts long enough and suits both young and older people. It’s a very feminine perfume that never goes out of fashion.
I’m not an expert in fragrances, but let me tell you, I’ve now taken up the hobby of blind-buying perfumes; that adrenaline of smelling it for the first time is priceless. This was on my wishlist and it was a wise decision. It’s a must-have in any collection; it opened my mind to scents I might not have otherwise tried. To me, it’s floral, but a beautiful, feminine, and sexy floral. I loved it.
As a teenager, I would have killed for this because Liv Tyler was in the ads, and as a Lord of the Rings fan, I just had to own it. I really enjoyed it; it felt refined and elegant. It’s a rose dance from start to finish, though I sometimes got tired of it. I finished the bottle; it’s excellent for the office or school. The longevity is great, lasting around 6-7 hours.
I’ve never managed to like it. It smells incredibly sweet, the king of sweet fragrances. If you’re looking for that, go for it. It has excellent longevity; nothing disappears after two hours. It’s made in the old school style. It’s just not for me; wear it at night, in winter, for a date. Not for daily use, not because of a bad smell, but you could kill someone with diabetes from such sweetness.
Many people confuse this with Givenchy’s ‘Irresistible’ but the ‘Very’ is bolder and sweeter; this is the version without the ‘Very’ very similar yet with a slightly sweeter touch. The notes blend so well that it’s hard to tell them apart. If you’re looking for something unisex try the ‘Irresistible’ which lasts longer. Watch out when buying: the pink bottle is Eau de Toilette (sweeter more feminine shorter lasting) and the purple one is Eau de Parfum. Don’t buy the purple thinking it lasts longer; they smell different and I returned mine because I couldn’t stand it. It smells like Le Sancy rose soap simple yet incredible; sometimes our senses are best led by the basics.
Since childhood I’ve been drawn to spices, and this smells like delicious anise; I know it doesn’t contain mint, but it seems to have a hint of it. It’s brutally feminine, cheerful, clean, spring-like and attractive; 100% in keeping with its name.
I adore this perfume. At first I notice the rose, then the sweetness invades this beautiful scent. I’ve had two bottles and I would buy it a thousand times over.
My favourite fragrance forever. Fresh, feminine and incredible. It was an absolute sensation and today it’s a Givenchy classic.
I’ve bought it a second time and I can’t live without it; I’m completely in love and it’s one of my must-haves. It lasts about six hours on the skin and forever on clothes until I wash them. It’s elegant, classy, sensual and addictive. Yes, I would buy it again.
It smells like medicine to me and I hate it. Perhaps it doesn’t suit my skin, but I find it heavy, artificial, like a disinfectant.
Very divine citrus roses. It’s a spectacular fragrance with an elegant and beautiful bottle.
I bought it blind in 2013, hesitating over the rose note, but it’s beautifully made. It’s feminine, floral, gorgeous and spring-like—truly a beauty! Ideal for sunny days.
It’s a soft and tranquil fragrance, nothing too potent but very feminine. The rose note is very prominent, making it floral and elegant. The longevity is good; it stays light on the skin. It’s pretty; not my favourite, but certainly pretty.
A scent not for the young, but one that projects elegance thanks to its roses, which is what I notice most. The longevity is good; two sprays are enough. Although it isn’t expensive, it gives the impression of being more luxurious. Recommended for those over 30.
I bought this as a gift for myself at 17 and it became my signature scent; everyone loved it and made me feel sexy and grown-up. Although I enjoyed it, over time my nose grew tired of that intense sweetness, and I don’t know what happened, but now when I smell it in perfumeries, I’m indifferent whether I like it or find it repulsive. I considered trying Irresistible as it’s similar, but I’m still unsure.
A blind buy that turned out well; it smells delicious. My husband loved it from the start. People always ask what it is or compliment me. On very hot days it intoxicates me, so I reserve it for spring days or cooler weather.
I bought it back in 2005 and fell in love so much that I still buy it to this day. For me, it’s very romantic; the soft rose note makes it delicate. It would be ideal for a first date.
It’s gorgeous, feminine and sexy. People always compliment me when I wear it. It gives a youthful, floral vibe. I use it more in cold weather or autumn; it’s not my summer choice, but I always keep it in mind.
Floral, feminine and delicate, what a beauty. It gives me confidence and I wear it to feel elegant and powerful. I receive so many compliments; it’s almost my signature scent. Super feminine, sexy and utterly irresistible.
I’m not a fan of roses, but this is one of the least boring ones I’ve tried. Probably thanks to the anise, which adds freshness without losing the sweetness. I’ve had similar scents before and several friends said it smells just like others they owned. It must have been so popular that many good clones emerged. It’s certainly not irresistible for me.
Heavy and sticky. It took me years to finish it, simply out of shame at having spent money on it.
I expected much more and was totally let down. It’s that rose nobody wears anymore and it adds nothing. The longevity is poor. What a pity.
I bought it out of nostalgia; I adored it when it first launched, but now it gives me nausea. It feels very heavy on me. The opening is fresh, but once it dries, anise dominates and lingers. The fixation is insane – two sprays last for hours. Perhaps it’s oxidised; the batch is from 2017, and I can’t smell the rose, it just smells like a vintage floral. I should have tried the Irresistible ‘without the Very’; those flankers are delightful.
Roses in abundance, ideal for the office in my opinion. Sophisticated and sexy. It suits me perfectly.
I absolutely love it, but beware: if you don’t like roses, you’ll hate this too. The flower takes centre stage, not a background note. It’s fresh, potent and characterful without being heavy. The rose feels alive, feminine and projects beautifully. The longevity is brutal; my clothes still smell like it the next day. It delivers on both fixity and presence – floral yet packed with personality.
