Very Irresistible L’Eau en Rose by Givenchy

Soft rose water with a slight sweet blackberry fruity touch, very light. It has nothing to do with the EDP or EDT of ‘Very Irresistible’ (I own them and sometimes like them, but I can’t stand them because men ask me what perfume I’m wearing and it draws too much attention). This version is much more pleasant to my taste; it’s my type of perfume.

Very feminine and elegant fragrance, yet also cheerful and delicate. Ideal for spring, it’s fresh and charming. It has good longevity, although not much sillage. It lives up to its name: if you like the scent of roses, this perfume is ideal.

It’s the springtime, lighter version of the Very Irresistible line: it carries the DNA of the range but is fresher, cleaner and softer. The notes are rose and musk; the blackberry adds a fruity, slightly sweet touch, and yes, there’s a hint of lemon or bergamot. Sometimes it reminds me of Chloé’s Roses. The only criticism I have is the trail: I have to overapply. The first time I used it with five sprays, it vanished completely after two hours; now I use between 12 and 15 to achieve a soft but acceptable trail and six hours of longevity. That’s why, once the bottle is finished, I won’t be buying it again, a shame because the scent is lovely.

I’ve been buying perfume after perfume for a while. I like the ones I have, but none of them managed to enchant me enough to identify with it for everyday wear, until I tried this one. When a friend smelled it, she said it smelled like an expensive perfume. It is the concrete definition of what a perfume should be: something FINE. It’s sophisticated, fresh without being acidic, sweet but subtle. I’ve already selected it as my signature fragrance. Few notes elevate a perfume’s level as much as roses, and this smells of pure roses. It’s exquisite, I love it.

Delicate, coquettish and cheerful. It has nothing to do with the older siblings in the Very Irresistible family; forget the tea and anise. It’s pure rose, slightly powdery, with a citrus touch (bergamot or lemon) that isn’t listed in the notes. It reminds me of Loewe’s Aire Sensual due to its predominant musk. If you like Aire Sensual, you’ll surely adore L’eau en rose. The only drawback is longevity and sillage; I can’t even smell it after five hours, though perhaps my nose has just got used to it while others still detect it. The trail is very fine. Ideal for spring and summer when we’re looking for something fresh and floral. At the moment I have a 10 ml decant gifted by a friend, but if I had to buy it, I’d say no, because that rose scent isn’t exactly what I’m after. I lean more towards Chloe’s Roses or Tous’ Rosa. Still, it’s a pleasant fragrance I’ve used a lot in this heat and I’m encouraged to reapply. I’ll enjoy it while the decant lasts. Recommended. 8/10

It’s super feminine, light and magical. If you loved the first version, this Amarant is an absolute must.

Of the Very Irresistibles I’ve tried, this is the best. It has a very youthful rose scent, nothing like some perfumes featuring this flower that can be rather classic.
