Pure Poison by Dior

Pure Poison: before buying, I checked the notes and reviews. In Argentina, 100ml costs 276,000 pesos (approx. $196) in November 2025, so you need to be sure it’s worth it. I tried it at a local perfumerie; the saleswoman applied it generously to my arms. It is absolutely delicious and I loved it on my skin, with jasmine dominating until the end. It projected about half a metre for the first hour, then faded. After three hours, it was skin scent. That’s why I decided not to buy it: I need something that lasts longer.

I first smelled it at eight years old; I used to steal it from my aunt just to open the cap and enjoy that hypnotic scent. Years later, at university, my mum gave it to me and it became my diary. I now use it on special occasions and it transports me back to those memories. It smells of elegance, power, and femininity, of a determined woman who knows what she wants. It makes me feel strong, secure, and sensual. I have a sensitive nose and curiously, I haven’t smelled it on many people, which I love. I think it’s for mature women, but I don’t mind: I feel like superwoman. Hopefully, it never becomes a social media hype; it’s a hidden gem I want to keep for myself.

The first time I smelled it, it felt strong and cloying, but as the hours passed, it started to smell delicious 😋 and lasted on my skin until the next day. I didn’t buy it because I feel it’s more for an older woman.

This perfume made me reconsider whether I truly disliked florals. I finished a bottle in months and had to restrain myself from using it daily. How was it possible to be perfect for everything: work, study, outings, dates? And the compliments… I always thought sweet scents were more attractive, but with this one, I saw the power and sensuality of florals. After using Pure Poison, I tried others of the same type and had wonderful experiences. Conclusion: you must try fragrances from different families to see how they behave on the skin. For me, it’s a resounding yes, an excellent fragrance. I would repeat it without a doubt.

I bought this almost blindly and it has completely won me over. One day in a perfumery, I put on Pure Poison at random, without any real intention. When I left, among the five scents on my arm, I thought: ‘Ugh, that smells amazing, could it be this one?’. A few months later, while reading reviews, I decided to get it to check it out for myself. Today I tried it and I was blown away: it’s a wonder, a creamy, clean, and elegant powerhouse. You can tell the quality; it’s straight into my favourites 🥳😍

Pure Poison is a dream. It’s like slapping a floral balm onto your skin after a shower. Clean, creamy, delicate, feminine, velvety, with that sweet floral touch yet fresh and polished. I find it impressive, super sexy and beautiful. It has become one of my favourites. It’s a second-skin effect. Its longevity and sillage aren’t the best; it’s quite intimate, but for me, it’s worth it 100%. In summer, the body craves something like this. It’s unique. My boyfriend loves it too. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 6/10

I feel very identified with the essence and the bottle image: angelic innocence but underneath a poison with character; it doesn’t look harmful but it makes an impact and its scent is unusual, keeping the DNA of the original Poison. I like it because it’s not what’s in fashion now; it’s authentic, airy, timeless, mysterious, has personality without being overly sweet, cheap or watery floral. It’s a small ‘silent revolution’; for me this perfume is a true ode to freedom, not the one they want to impose and sell in current marketing. It’s a magic potion; in this case, the perfume chooses you. Abstain if you are vulgar and simple-minded. It’s clean and elegant; I see it for a sophisticated, independent and mature-thinking woman who sweeps everything in her path discreetly. It’s a fragrance that could fit the ‘old money’ or ‘quiet luxury’ label. I imagine a woman dressed in a blazer, a white shirt and pin-tail trousers in neutral tones. Every time I inhale the perfume, I feel good; at the same time it’s warm and soapy, like a mother’s embrace. The opening is citrusy, over time the jasmine and sandalwood settle in; it has good sillage, I can smell myself all day so I apply a little in strategic points; you don’t notice it but the people around you do. I’m crossing my fingers that they don’t discontinue it and allow us to choose to feel (smell) truly free.

I love this perfume. It’s one of my favourites and I would buy it again. The first time I tried it, it didn’t dazzle me, but once on the skin it lasted many hours. I bought it because it seemed ‘suitable for any occasion’, one of those perfumes you could buy blindly because it’s so versatile. It smells fresh, clean, hyper-feminine. When I started using it, I fell in love. It lasts a long time on the skin, more than 9 hours on me, and has great sillage; I always receive good comments when I wear it. I read in other comments that it’s a ‘grandma perfume’, I don’t feel that way. But I do identify with a comment saying ‘it’s like a white shirt’, which always looks good, it’s neat and formal. While it’s not a very complex fragrance, it’s not overly mass-produced and I like that.

I don’t understand why Fragantica doesn’t have another profile for this perfume, as the photo shown here is of the reformulated version, which is quite different from the original fragrance with the white cap, which I reviewed a long time ago. Although they are similar, one is almost a flanker of the other; I don’t understand how Dior Addict and others have several profiles according to their reformulations and this one doesn’t, it’s like saying Miss Dior 2012 and 2017 are the same 🙄

IT IS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. I heard many men say they like it in a woman, but I find it re meh. It is rich, but super calm, nothing special. The jasmines sound very generic to me. Even once it has settled, it feels super soft, and I usually prefer perfumes that are more potent and leave a good trail. I don’t know, I like it but I expected a bomb based on the comments and the name, or rather, pure literal poison, but it doesn’t give me much poison. It seems like a calm, super lovely and floral perfume, but that’s all. At the same time, it is a lovely floral with good consistency thanks to the base notes. It’s not super fresh, it has body, but well, it doesn’t kill me.

It is one of those perfumes that I should like more because of the good reviews, but you know it will never be your favourite. It smells clean and refined, safe, but it reminds me of the typical perfect mother who smells great, has a good job, and an ideal home. It also brings to mind the perfect primary school teacher (the one everyone had) that you wanted to emulate at all costs. A bit boring, although you know she won’t fail and won’t annoy anyone.

How handsome, it smells like a fine soap: not the super kind, but talcum-jasmine, silky, style Chanel N5 but more modern and less literal. It is a clean and fresh floral with a soft and enjoyable vanilla. The only thing that didn’t close for me is that it lacks personality, just like it happened with Daisy Dream by Mark Jacobs; if you know it, you understand. It is lovely, like the jasmines, with incredible quality and that classic softness of Dior talcum powders. Regarding sensuality, I think it is cleanliness in a woman, I don’t know if more; it has very little mischief, I see it more for daily wear or work. But Delí Delí is worth it, it is the supreme clean scent (not shower-clean, not wet, but clean). In the residual dry-down I smelled Omo detergent, haha, it reminds you of everything clean, and in the end it leaves a slightly sharp and ‘masculine’ musk that contrasts with the delicate, silky, and feminine beginning. The soapiness remains and is addictive for me.

I adore this perfume because I feel it suits me very well: my name is Jasmine and as soon as I put it on, what stands out most is that flower, haha. After a while the jasmine is barely noticeable and it adopts a scent of clean, light flowers. Its longevity is excellent and its trail is VERY STRONG, be careful with that; the first time I used it I put a little too much while staying at home and about 6 hours later the trail was still intact to the point that it gave me nausea. It is very strong, so do not overdo the amount when applying it. I feel it suits both young and adult women very well, and although it fits any occasion, it looks better during the day.

It is a fairly clean and lovely scent, it has a slight hint of nail polish, but it would be the most expensive and refined one that exists, haha. It is clean and neat, nothing more, good longevity but on my skin the trail is soft, it is not a perfume to stand out, but it is a lovely scent… It is not my style and I would not buy it again.
