I tried it today and it didn’t convince me. To me, it smelled distinctly of banana, and I don’t understand why it’s not listed in the notes. I’m certain it contains banana or some other tropical fruit.
It seemed very sweet and long-lasting, with a trail that lingers. Like Selene85, I detected a fruity note but couldn’t identify which one. It was a launch I really wanted to own, but in the end, it just isn’t for me.
I tested it on a tissue and was initially overwhelmed; it was such a powerful blast of pomegranate that I almost ran away. After an hour, however, it settles into jasmine, orange blossom, and water lily (even if the bottle doesn’t say so, I can definitely smell it). I absolutely love it; it’s incredibly soft and lacks much projection, but I’d like to wear it on my skin to see how it develops.
It’s a perfume that, although it’s not one of my favourites, when you wear it, it causes a stir. I like the dry-down because it softens a lot compared to the initial application, and it has excellent longevity. I find a wink with the original, but this one turns out to be more gourmand.

One word: Spectacular. The only drawback is the price, which is excessive, but there are perfumes with the same price that don’t last or leave a trail. It’s special and makes itself noticed.
Its name defines it: intense. You have to be careful with the quantity; for me, one spray is enough and it lasts a long time, resulting in very sexy… but if over-applied, it overwhelms you and others. The dry-down softens a lot, and the sillage and longevity are very good. I see it for the evening or when you’re dressed up; I wouldn’t wear it at work or in enclosed places.
FEMALE EXPLOSION! Perhaps it’s an oriental-floral, but it’s an alternative gourmand for those who don’t like gourmands. I received it as a gift from an anonymous friend, and at first, due to the bottle and name, I thought they saw me as very ‘pinkie’, but the next day I couldn’t feel more grateful. At first, it smells very sweet and gourmand, like Hansel & Gretel, but soon it becomes dark and dry, with that warm tiare. It resembles Angel by Mugler, same sweetness but without the aquatic or soapy notes, though it has a slight mentholated touch. At the start, it’s sweet, sugary, and creamy, but always with a base note that balances it. The artificial strawberry note is the one I like least, only when it smells very strong. Once dry, it’s delicious and addictive, almost creamy soft vanilla. It reminds me of Angel at the end, but it’s sweeter and more feminine, with the same incredible longevity. It sits beautifully on the skin, cheerful, and brings out feminine beauty. I think it’s pleasant for an immature sense of smell, easy to enjoy, and seductive. USAGE: You can’t overdo it because it lasts a long time and leaves a mark. Use moderately, for special occasions or routine days to surprise. It has a dangerous sweetness that, in excess, can cross the line of tolerance.
With any perfume, don’t let yourself be carried away by reviews. I was about to buy it blindly, but I tested it in a shopping centre and I DIDN’T like it. As its name says, it’s intense; I get dizzy with just one spray, especially in the heat. It leaves great sillage, lasts about 6 hours for me, which I can’t stand. It’s sweet, heavy, and loses potency. The first application is overwhelming; I think it’s the concentrated vanilla that I didn’t like. Excuse me, but keeping a perfume only for special occasions… isn’t life a special occasion? We only live once! Don’t buy a perfume just because you want it for something special; buy one you’ve tested and know suits you. Unless it’s a gift, don’t settle for one that stays locked away. Remember that perfumes have an expiry date and the formula changes over time.
I absolutely love CLASSIQUE INTENSE by Gaultier. Suitable for spring, summer, autumn, and winter, at any time of day or night. The first time I smelled it, I detected a slight chocolate aroma (I know it’s not listed on Fragrantica), but I still have that impression. It carries a double dose of jasmine, as the tiare smells like jasmine, and combines exquisitely with the pomegranate and the rest. Fun fact: tiare is the emblem of French Polynesia; traditionally, you are gifted a necklace or a flower behind the ear. This perfume has very good longevity and sillage. For me, that is always a plus; a little goes a long way. The bottle is beautiful and collectible. It won’t be missing from my shelf. Best regards.
I love CLASSIQUE INTENSE. I wear it in all seasons and at any time. The first time I smelled it, I thought of chocolate (I know it doesn’t have it, but I still sense it). It has double the dose of jasmine because the tiare smells like jasmine, and it combines brilliantly with the pomegranate. Curiosity: tiare is the emblem of Polynesia; everyone receives a flower. This perfume has incredible longevity and great sillage. A little goes a long way. The bottle is beautiful, a collector’s item. It won’t be missing from my shelf.
A fragrance that always winked at me in the JPG counter. I’ve tried it for the third time and I want it. Its older sister only shares the orange blossom and vanilla, but this has a more youthful, creamy, and juicy aroma. It evokes sun and beach, as if you’ve just sunbathed and then applied a flower of orange blossom balm with hints of vanilla and an imaginary peach. It’s floral, creamy, sweet, and delicate. Although it evokes the beach, it’s perfect for any event, formal or informal; it’s friendly, has great sillage, and lasts about 8 hours.
What a delight! Finally received it, and how strange the sense of smell can change. I heard about it years ago and couldn’t handle the pomegranate, which left me feeling cloying. Today, however, I smelled lots of orange blossom, followed by an exquisite creamy sweetness.
It’s my love. Nothing drives me wild like this. It’s hard to get here in Buenos Aires, so I only wear it for special occasions. It’s super intense, powerful, strong, and sweet, with incredible longevity. I shower and wash my hair, and it’s still there the next day. I LOVE IT.
Of course, JPG never fails. I love them all, and this one is driving me wild – what a wonder. It doesn’t smell as gourmand as I expected; what I notice most is the tiare and orange blossom. Enjoy it.

Classique Intense smells absolutely delicious and super sweet on white flowers, especially jasmine and Tiare, in a tropicalised almost fruity jasmine that has me hooked. It gives me what bees must feel when forced to go to a flower. On my skin it lasts a minimum of 15 hours, longer on clothes, and I smell it all the time. It’s spectacular and irresistible, although only for lovers of potent perfumes. I use it in any season on special occasions and it would be my signature if Olympea didn’t have an emotional weight for me that keeps it on the podium. Without a doubt, it is the king of the Classique line (at least for my nose). White flowers with hazelnut, where the Tiare shines with an exotic and tropical touch of luxury. In terms of longevity, power, and trail, on my skin it’s a beast: over 10 hours, it projects strongly for the first four hours and then lingers on the skin. It attracts compliments from all types and ages. It’s super versatile for all year round, but my favourite is wearing it on summer nights, dressed up and applying a generous amount (which is how perfumes should be worn). I cannot live without it. I don’t understand why they have discontinued it. I have three bottles and I use one, so I buy another. It’s my fetish.
This EDP is fantastic; the Tiare note smells super pleasant and elegant. I adore it 💞. I wear it during the day, but it can be used to great effect at night. It suits me perfectly in autumn, winter, and spring; in summer, only on cool evenings. Its longevity, trail, and projection are top-notch, making you feel comfortable and bold 👍

I started obsessively searching for perfumes with a Tiare note, as I own the Classique Woman Wonder and I love it for being light, fresh, and floral. Upon finding this, I hunted until I got it. When I tried it, I was delighted: it’s an explosion of white flowers bathed in sweet vanilla with a delicious summer touch. It’s intense but not overwhelming; my husband asked what I was wearing when he walked in. Its creamy sweetness of Tiare, vanilla, and pomegranate defines it. The trail is phenomenal and lasts about 7 or 8 hours. As it’s a limited edition, you’ll hardly see it again, so if you find it, don’t let it slip away.
At first sniff, I thought: ‘This is like the other JPGs I own!’ After wearing my So Scandal and Scandal By Night extensively, this Classique Intense seems a bit redundant, yet no less wonderful. The tiare and vanilla notes are absolute. I still feel that signature crisp JPG base, like puff pastry or a biscuit. Here, the flowers smell powdery and fleshy, in full summer exuding essence. The ‘Intense’ really suits it. It also smells like shampoo, similar to So Scandal, with a clean scent. The vanilla and patchouli give it more punch. When I say it’s a beast, I mean it. It lasts over 12 hours on skin and a full day on clothes; it projects and the sillage is incredible. You could ask for nothing more. However, compared to the others I mentioned, I don’t like this one as much. It’s not as versatile as So Scandal, nor as interesting as By Night, nor does it hold as much nostalgia as the original. Anyway, it has everything to win, but unfortunately, for my nose, it’s not quite enough, so I wouldn’t buy a full bottle, and that’s fine. I still recommend it to those who enjoy this type of perfume. It’s a gem.

However, among the ones I mentioned, I don’t like this one as much as the others. It doesn’t seem as versatile as the So Scandal, nor as interesting as the Scandal By Night, nor do I hold as much nostalgia for it as I do for the original Classique. I’m familiar with the Elie Saab EDP and Intense proposals that Classique Intense is often compared to, but in my opinion, they are distinct scents; the only commonality is perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. I discovered Classique Intense a few weeks ago and I think it shines on its own, different from the Elie Saab line. On the opening, the Tiare flower is notable, just like the Neroli blossom; the other flowers (jasmine and rose) are less present. The same applies to the vanilla and patchouli: they are there, but they don’t lead the melody. What remains on my skin is a good blend of Tiare and Neroli blossom, and I also detect a pink pepper (unlisted, but it’s there). I’ve worn it in winter and it has excellent longevity: I apply it in the morning and I still smell it on my skin the next day [though I don’t like it on fabrics]. I’ll wait to see its performance in other seasons because, being floral, I think it could look wonderful in spring and summer.
Classique Intense is a versatile perfume where the Tiare flower, Neroli blossom, and a hint of vanilla really shine. It reminds me a bit of L’Artisan Parfumeur Eclat EDP. It’s slightly fresh and I wear it in spring, summer, and autumn. I absolutely love it.
