  I loved trying this fragrance in its vintage cologne form; it’s elegant and refined. Diorling isn’t one of those harsh or raw leathers that overwhelm, but rather plays with floral notes—a very sweet and penetrating rose and hyacinth. As a cologne, I’m surprised it doesn’t have a strong citrus opening; instead, it jumps straight into its floral-woody side. It’s interesting that in the first few seconds of application, I could catch a hint of Miss Dior, but only briefly (just enough to realise they share the same creative mind), before Diorling takes a completely different direction. It’s soft, delicate, and wonderfully harmonious. I tried the Eau de Toilette about six years ago, and comparing them, I’d say the moss and iris notes are slightly more intense, and the leather a bit more synthetic, but overall they don’t differ much.
