Where is the iris like the one in Dior Intense that I know? I wondered, but I came out of the doubt: it refers to Hermodactylus, the scientific name for Iris tuberosa. Category: Species. Superior classification: Iris. Its aroma is very different and fantastic. I only knew it during a test in a luxury store.
THE SOPHISTICATED TOUCH OF FLOWERS. Oh, Iris Tubereuse intoxicates me. It reminds me of Tuberose Gardenia by Estee Lauder. It smells of luxury, white flowers where tuberose reigns, gardenia (which I don’t detect), lily of the valley, and herbs with a musky base. I don’t detect vanilla, gladiolus, orange, or iris. Perhaps the white flowers cancel everything out. It’s contradictory that the iris isn’t noticeable, which is usually key. But it doesn’t matter; it’s beautiful in the superlative, natural notes, elegant presence. Pity it doesn’t escape Creed’s Achilles’ heel: divine but very fleeting.
I own Tuberose Gardenia by Estee Lauder and Miller Harris Tuberosa, both exquisite, long-lasting, and super feminine. This one from Creed Iris Tubereuse has arrived and is supermegaexquisite. I love it. It doesn’t last as long as the others, but so what? I’m fascinated. I finish it in summer and buy another, and so on for a lifetime. It’s for instant enjoyment: a fresh, strong iris that yields to tuberose shouting ‘here I am, I’ve been invited’… fabulous!
An elegant and long-lasting fragrance. It is exquisite, but be careful: more than three sprays and you’re suffocated. That is the ‘downside’ of olfactory jewels, like Chanel. But well, it makes the bottle last a long time. Floral aroma with a citrus top. It lasts over 10 hours on my skin, which is rare. I see it for women over 30.
On my skin, the opening is a clean orange with violet leaves, like a luxury soap. The flowers don’t bloom here; the violet lingers until the end. It’s refined and elegant, the perfume of Queen Elizabeth or Kate Middleton. It caresses, with a shy lily at the bottom. It smells like an estate owner. I wear it on meeting mornings to project lineage; it smells expensive and exclusive, a cousin of Cartier’s Declaration.
