Meltemia by Nishane: A Sparkling Citrus Aromatic for All

Meltemia is the latest unisex creation from Nishane, debuting in 2026 under the skilled hand of perfumer Jordi Fernández. Classified as a citrus aromatic fragrance, it offers a fresh, vibrant character with an unexpectedly luxurious depth.

This new release balances opposing forces with ease: bright citrus, gentle balsams, and a sturdy woody base. The outcome is a contemporary eau de parfum that feels both uplifting and sophisticated.

The scent opens with a burst of bitter orange and bergamot, sharpened by ginger and lime. Rosemary cuts through with its clean, herbaceous lift, giving the top notes a crisp, almost zesty bite that never becomes overly sweet.

Moving into the heart, the fragrance grows softer and more textural. Peru balsam and orange blossom weave together a smooth, honeyed warmth, while petalia and petitgrain add a delicate, fresh floral twist. It's a gentle transition into the perfume's deeper layers.

At the base, Akigalawood emerges alongside Ambreine and sandalwood, creating a skin-hugging, slightly powdery finish. A touch of synthetic oud adds an air of mystery and refinement. This dry-down is both comfortable and distinctive.

Meltemia performs admirably across different settings. It has moderate sillage but excellent staying power, making it suitable for office wear as well as evening events. The blend of woody, balsamic, and white floral accords ensures it remains interesting throughout the day.

Already, a small but enthusiastic group of reviewers has given it an average rating of 4.23 out of 5 (26 votes). It's a positive start for a fragrance that seems destined to find a loyal audience.

This is a scent for anyone who loves fresh, aromatic perfumes with a substantial woody backbone. It works particularly well for those seeking an everyday fragrance that feels a cut above the ordinary, and for collectors who appreciate nuanced citrus compositions.

In the end, Meltemia is a successful meeting of light and shadow. Nishane and Jordi Fernández have delivered a refined, versatile fragrance that stands out in a crowded field. Definitely one to add to your discovery list.

  1. Good. I was able to try it thanks to a friend who was able to travel to Mykonos. Let’s say it’s a rehash of several fragrances. It has a bit of Valaya by PDM, with a base of Blue Talisman and citrus. I find it 100% unisex, with very good longevity, lasting between 6 and 8 hours. Moderate sillage. The dry-down can lean slightly feminine, though subtly. All in all, if it stops being exclusive to the island of Mykonos and you find it at a better price…
