Jeu d’Amour by Kenzo

Absolutely love it! It’s one of my favourite fragrances; I simply cannot live without it. A magical, fresh, talc-like and sensual floral bouquet. Smells of fresh narcissus and freesia with pomegranate juice, finishing with woody notes of leather and musk. It has to be the EdP; the EdT just doesn’t work. Lasts 9 hours with an aura trail that surrounds you; excellent.

I tried a sample today… at first, it smells like fresh floral shampoo, but over time, the narcissus takes centre stage. I’m not overwhelmed by narcissus, and here they are well-balanced, very similar to RL’s Woman (which I had to gift my mum) and the vibe of L’Interdit EdP due to its warmth. This Kenzo is a balanced narcissus floral with a moderate trail; it’s super wearable and elegant. Recommended; it’s creamy and now I consider it a possible purchase. Keep in mind it’s from 2014, so Kenzo takes the applause over the other two.

The salesperson sprayed it on me for the sandalwood and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I LOVE IT. It smells like the honeysuckle vine in my grandmother’s house. The opening is citrusy and green; as it settles, it becomes much creamier neroli with a slight sweetness. The scent is warm and creamy, it’s a winter scent, nothing fresh. Suitable for all-day wear and young adults, very feminine. The trail is EXCELLENT and lasts 9 hours; the neroli endures flawlessly. I love it. Now I want to see the EDT because the EDP seems very intense. It’s elegant and complex, NOTHING ARTIFICIAL. Edit: I bought the commercial version and it’s less creamy, with poor projection and longevity. I’m heartbroken because it was love at first sniff; I suppose the tester was concentrated. A total disappointment now, it lasts less than 2 hours, just like the EDT.

I was buying another perfume when the salesperson, who intuitively knew what I was interested in, made me try this… And I fell in love. Unlike the previous comments, I am indeed a narcissus lover. I’ve never encountered a narcissus before, but I notice that all the fragrances that fascinate me carry that note. What’s notable is the fixative power; I could still smell it intact after washing my hands with abundant soap. I’ve already added it to my wishlist. The only thing I don’t like is the box, though it sounds ridiculous. Having a neck finishing with painted lips sitting on my dressing table doesn’t appeal to me at all; I feel it ruins the overall design’s good taste.

This fragrance requires caution. The initial scent is delicious, fresh and sweet with mandarin, currants and tea; it’s a treat! I bought it without thinking the moment I smelled it, and what a mistake. After 10 minutes, it stops smelling like that wonderful main scent and only leaves narcissus, narcissus and more narcissus, with freesia appearing occasionally. The fragrance doesn’t smell bad, but I don’t consider myself a narcissus lover (for me, it’s a note you either love or hate); it overwhelms me and gives me a headache, and for some reason, I associate it with older people (no offence; my olfactory memory works that way). In this perfume, the narcissus scent is constant, so if you’re not a narcissus lover, try before buying. Then I love the advertising campaign, but it doesn’t seem to match the perfume; it doesn’t seem designed to seduce or be carnal, but rather a fresh floral scent perfect for summer and spring, for daily use to go to university or work. Perhaps its sister, Jeau d’Amor L’Elixir, does have more of that sexy and sensual connotation; I’ve already noted it down to try it.

(Redwolf) It happened to me too; narcissus isn’t my thing, even though I adore floral perfumes. You will love J’eu d’Amor; it’s very intense and sexy; I was on the verge of buying it.

Soft with that pomegranate note I absolutely adore, even if real fruit doesn’t smell quite like this. It blends beautifully with florals like neroli and freesia, while the sandalwood seals it off with a creaminess that seems to merge into the skin. For me, although it lacks cashmere or leather, it works as a delicate, carnal scent with good longevity.

One of my favourite Kenzos ❤. It’s a well-balanced floral-fruity: neroli, pomegranate, orange, and sandalwood. I might be going mad, but it smells like banana even if they don’t say so. Kenzo says it’s a seduction weapon, but for me, it’s more romantic and dreamy, a lovely, tender love… though that sounds cheesy, hehe. For better seduction, use its brother L’Élixir. I wear it in spring and some autumn days. It’s sweet and creamy, the projection is weak and needs a little help, but it lasts 10 hours if applied generously.

Very feminine, sexy, and sweet without being cloying, with fruity notes and something sparkling. I love wearing it from spring, day and night. The trail is excellent and the longevity, like all Kenzos, is outstanding. I recommend it 100%; it’s one of the perfumes I like most in my entire collection.

I gifted it to my mum for Mother’s Day. We had met it via a sample and fell in love. To my mind, it’s sensual, youthful, and elegant all at once. It suits my mum’s skin perfectly; the trail surrounding her is like an exquisite, elegant aura. When she wears it, she seems to have ‘dressed to kill’… hehe! At least that’s how she feels around her. I love it! And, as she told me, it leaves men unimpressed.

Originally I was heading for Kenzo Amour until I ended up with Jeu d’Amour. It’s a scent totally different from what I had used before. It didn’t excite me at first, but now I love it. My best description is sophisticated/natural. Unpretentious but with great class. Really provocative!

My first encounter with Jeu d’Amour was good, even disconcerting. I approached a perfumery without intending to buy anything, went to the Kenzo stand, and among all the variety, I decided to pick this one and spray it on a tissue. I kept walking around, and the moment I brought it close to my nose, my brain made a memory and said it smells similar to Classique Intense by Jean Paul Gaultier; they share the pomegranate. After a few hours, it becomes sweeter and less acidic, and that’s when the freesia scent emerges, which by the way I love and reminds me of a Victoria’s Secret splash. In short, I’ve liked it very much and it’s straight to my wishlist.

Something doesn’t quite add up here: this is a floral-gourmand, not a floral-fruity. It’s creamy, featuring sandalwood from the very start with a touch of sweet, woody custard. I don’t detect neroli or pomegranate; it’s super romantic, warm, and gourmand. Perfect for evening or night. It has a faint echo of Amour but stands out with its own style. It’s exquisite and has already become one of my favourites among sweet fragrances.

I love this fragrance and it’s my lucky perfume. Every time I went to an exam with it, I did well! haha. On my skin, it lasts moderately, but if I mist it on my hair it lasts more than 24 hours. My mother finds it lasts much longer on her skin. From the start, I notice the flowers, especially the freesia. It’s exquisite, super fresh, and very feminine. It doesn’t smell like soap or sugar.

I found it very pleasant with good longevity, though I feel it smells similar to another perfume, I’m not sure which one. It’s very feminine. I would buy it anyway.
