L'Enfant Terrible by Givenchy is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men and women. This creation, signed by the perfumer who designed it, was launched in 2025. Its olfactive pyramid unfolds with a top note of bergamot, giving way to a heart of black tea and ginger, while the base reveals a blend of musk, ambroxan, cedar and labdanum.

  • Delicious sweet, citrusy amber; reminiscent of Imagination, Platine Privé, and Tygar, yet distinct and absolutely worth the price.

  • Givenchy stands out with L’Enfant Terrible, an unexpected gem that dares to tread the niche line. Far from commercial, it’s an act of rebellion: it doesn’t seek to please everyone but captivates those who dare. From the start, an intriguing duality: a clean, fresh citrus bergamot prepares the way for ripe, fleshy, almost liqueur-like figs, contrasting with dry spices and amber woods. The fig accord is deep and natural, avoiding anything childish. There’s an earthy sensuality reminiscent of perfumerie de niche. Here, ingredients aren’t just smelled; they’re felt. The base is amber with resinous traces and an animalic touch, making it enveloping and long-lasting without aggression. The quality is outstanding for a designer fragrance. No generic notes; every layer evolves with intention. It’s a perfume with a soul, transgressive and artistic. For those seeking something distinct, substantial, and uncompromising, it’s a rarity worth rediscovering. The best: originality and noble quality. The worst: it may not suit those who prefer linear scents. Would I repurchase? Without a doubt. It’s a statement of intent.

  • What an authentic masterpiece. I popped into the department store for a stroll and brought this gem home. It’s my first private collection of designer fragrances; at these price points, I’ve always been drawn more to niche scents until I tried this—what quality, what bergamot. I sampled all three from the Jardins series, and this left me speechless. The opening reminded me of the incredible first few seconds of Citrus Cedro, but here it lasts for hours. As it dries down, the tea emerges, giving it that Imagination touch from LV without being identical. While ILV feels more linear to me, the cedar and ambroxan base in this Enfant Terrible is the cherry on top. A definite 10. Hooray for Givenchy.

  • Authentic masterpiece. For me, the resemblance to LV Imagination is around 70%. If you like that one, I’d say L’Enfant Terrible (I love the name, it makes me laugh 🤣) carries its DNA but is more musky and slightly sweeter. The opening is similar, but as it dries down, it becomes warmer and more honeyed. If you’re unsure what LV Imagination smells like, think of LT as a citrus tea with a sweet, musky dry-down. Ginger, bergamot, and tea are very prominent. Unlike Imagination, which is for summer, this is for all seasons. Simple composition but a sensory luxury. Longevity 10h+ and trail 5-6h, very strong before settling into the skin. My rating: 9.5/10.
