Descripción

Idôle L'Intense by Lancôme is a chypre floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2020, this composition was created by Shyamala Maisondieu, Adriana Medina-Baez and Nadege le Garlantezec. The top notes unfold the freshness of bitter orange and mandarin; the heart reveals a harmony of Turkish rose, Grasse rose, musk, Egyptian jasmine, sambac jasmine and jasmine; while the base notes land with the warmth of patchouli, cashmere wood, Madagascar vanilla, sandalwood, acacia and cedar.

  • It’s not a bad perfume, but Idôle Intense hasn’t impressed me. Did it increase intensity and longevity compared to the original? Yes, but it still doesn’t project excessively or surprise. It’s pleasant for daily use, soft and slightly sweet, without being overpowering. It projects a lot with generous application, although it lost the sparkling character of the original. On my skin, the pear (an unlisted note) stands out with a woody base. The rose is only noticeable at the beginning. Trail is soft to moderate, lasting 8-9 hours. Scent 6.5/10, longevity 7/10, trail 7/10, value for money 7/10, versatility 8/10, packaging 8.5/10. Would I buy it again? I didn’t.

  • Tested on 25/03/21 on a humid and fresh day. I was impressed by how similar it smells to Gold Fresh Couture, but without that tart-tropical note of rhubarb and passionfruit. I’ve been testing it since it arrived in my city; although I like the regular version, it’s expensive and I’m not sure if I’d actually wear it. The Intense version decides me more: less open, a bit sweeter and more winter-like. It briefly recalls Gold Fresh, but then the dry-down has something balsamic, like Coco Mademoiselle Intense, with vanilla and a soft dusty touch. Very attractive. Finally, I bought it on offer: it smells ‘very Lancôme’, neat and cosy, like my mum’s perfume. It doesn’t break the mould, but it’s pleasant, well-crafted, and lasts a long time.

  • Idôle Intense took some time to win me over. At first, I felt a very acidic orange note that masked the rest, but then the magic began. However, after a few hours, it disappeared from my skin. I returned weeks later, and the regular version was what I expected: better longevity (around 7 hours) and projection. It’s sweet but soft, not invasive. Pleasant for winter or spring, during the day or for casual outings. On my skin, the blend of rose and vanilla stood out, but after two hours, I got bored and switched. I wouldn’t recommend buying blindly.

  • A lovely floral and woody scent with well-acidic citrus notes. I don’t perceive the rose, and the flowers I smell aren’t the white ones that usually give me elegance and luminosity; here they feel shrill and wild, even if dosed. It’s a pity because I like the aroma, but that acidic touch makes me uncomfortable and doesn’t fit well. I enjoy acidic perfumes, but in this case, it just doesn’t work.

A beautiful gift, but certainly only for cold days or fresh nights. I wore it in spring and it was a bomb; the orange and vanilla never let up. No perfume is bad, you just need to know when to wear it. I’ll wait until autumn or winter to try it again. On my skin, it lasts a minimum of 8 hours.

  • A magical perfume, vintage yet modern. Reminds me of my beloved Amarige, perhaps due to the florals, though they aren’t identical. There’s something special about it. It lasts incredibly long, and I can still smell it hours later; my nose doesn’t get used to it, which is rare for potent scents. I enjoy the vanilla, the woods, and those jasmine notes. It’s versatile for cold or warm weather, day or night. Suitable for people around 20 years old. Worth it: it’s commercial, pleases everyone, and has the right amount of sweetness that’s hard to find nowadays.

  • I stick with its first version; it’s a more beautiful scent. This one is very long-lasting and has lovely roses, but on my skin, the woods suffocate everything; if I could swap it for the other, I would, even if it has less intensity and longevity.

  • A Kings’ Day gift, and what better way to be enchanted. It’s a classic with a modern edge, very ‘Lancôme’: sweet roses dusted with potent jasmine that sometimes overpowers. Elegant, not for every outfit. The longevity is monstrous; the trail for the first three hours is brutal, then it moderates. It can be a bit overwhelming at first. Not for summer, though many recommend it for evening wear. Occasionally reminds me of Alien due to the depth of the jasmine. 10/10.

I love it!!! It has something that makes it very attractive. I’ve read several reviews and know that taste is subjective, plus it depends a lot on pH and how the notes present themselves. On me, it has a somewhat strong opening; I thought it would be for night or autumn, but suddenly it drops, and a lot. Its dry-down is wonderful; it’s not annoying to me at all and is addictive; I want to smell it all the time. Where it’s not as potent, I think I can wear it during the day, as I don’t consider it invasive. I perceive it as sweet and fresh; I consider it a versatile perfume.

A great success and, perhaps, better than the original. This Idole L’Intense is very similar to the EDP original: the same fresh, musky rose, smelling of a fresh, luminous garden full of roses. But L’Intense removes that pear and bergamot accord and introduces bitter orange in the opening, which is quite noticeable. I prefer the orange in Idole to the pear. My sister also likes it; she wears Zara’s Memoire Intense every day (a very accurate dupe) but never liked Idole. Besides, the jasmine is noticeable, and the patchouli adds more strength and earthiness, making it more robust. In the dry-down, it feels like a woody, clean, and fresh scent, which I like more than the more vanilla-heavy dry-down of the original. I think this version is just as versatile, if not more; I see it as perfect for a fresh autumn. In general, Idole is an innocent and delicious perfume to wear. It dresses you up, makes you feel elegant and clean. My complaint with the original was that it didn’t last long, which is solved quite a bit with the L’Intense version, so I prefer this. Although, if you want to smell similar and not spend much, buy the Zara dupe before it runs out, as it’s identical for a fraction of the price. Either way, I like it a lot and recommend it widely.

  • I liked it a lot; like me, perfumes tend to disappear from the skin. Having recently bought Yves Saint Laurent Intense and seen the fantastic result, I assumed this would be similar in longevity and intensity. Wrong. I bought it after smelling it on the skin and liking it. Once I went out into the street and walked a few blocks, I started looking for it on my wrists, and I could smell it less and less. It is truly exquisite, but sincerely, due to my pH, it doesn’t last; it disappears. I advise those who usually experience the same thing to try it and not buy it until the next day. For fear of ending up like me with an eau de cologne equivalent at a quite, quite high price.

  • I have the original, which I didn’t like at first, but I learned to love it for its versatility and clean scent. People told me it flooded the rooms. On me, it’s potent and reassuring. That’s why I risked trying Intense to replace my original (the only one I want to repeat), but I’m not sure. Intense has an opening and heart phase that is suffocating, cloying, and overwhelming, perhaps patchouli? It could be. It reminds me of Flower by Kenzo, that heavy scent I can’t tolerate. However, in the dry-down, a fresh, soft vanilla emerges, making it worth getting drunk on its opening notes.

  • If I hadn’t managed to get the original at a good price (discounted due to expiry date), I wouldn’t have bought it; it’s too traditional for me. However, upon wearing it, I became familiar with its noble aroma. This led me to start trying the variants, which began to multiply. I overlooked Aura but stopped at Intense; it really concentrates the scent and becomes much more interesting and modern than the original. It’s deep, elegant, warm, and distinguished. The jasmines are present, while the roses are more subdued by white essences; the vanilla is more gourmand than in the original, where it appears more oxidised. There’s little cedar and sandalwood. On the skin, it lasts a long time and softens with sweetness and sophistication.

An improved version of the classic. It’s intense but doesn’t turn people off. It has good sillage and lasts for hours. It gives a clean sensation, reminding me of concentrated fabric softeners with essences. To be honest, it’s pleasant but lacks the personality to stand out… or perhaps, the correct thing to say is that it has the ‘Lancôme personality’. I bought it at a promotional price just to add to my collection. I wouldn’t pay its regular price.

I fell in love with this. Lancôme is my favourite brand across all its lines. I ordered Idole perfume but by mistake, Intense arrived. At first, I thought it would be difficult to wear in summer due to its woody and sweet opening with mandarin and orange. On the contrary, its dry-down is exquisite, sweet but not heavy at all, very wearable. The wood doesn’t feel thick and maintains its body. The combination in the dry-down leaves a soft sensation of roses, vanilla, and a beautiful, calming sandalwood. Excellent for my taste. It lasts on my skin until I shower and a bit more. I give it 10 points across the board!

  • It has everything I look for: sweet without being overwhelming, powdery without being excessive, fresh, and with good longevity. I’m not ruling out buying Idole perfume to alternate depending on the occasion. It has won me over and earned the right to be my signature fragrance 🫶🏼

  • I’m surprised to find myself reminded of Hermès’ Un Jardin Sur Le Lac, but with an added touch of rose. It’s an ultra-feminine, intense, and incredibly cuddly scent.

  • It’s a great perfume, as I read in previous reviews; it’s sweet but not cloyingly sweet. The opening is citrus-sweet, reminding me of a ripe orange scent, a little sweet, accompanying a cheerful rose together with the jasmine. The musk gives it a clean, neat touch, making it very wearable despite having a sweet essence; it’s not overwhelming, it’s an aroma that I adored.

  • Ambar Amatista

With this perfume, I realised that I like roses and elegant sweet roses even more. It’s for repurchasing, for having it always in the dressing table. I like it a lot.

  • Dama Incognita

I’ll just mention the two main differences I find compared to the original: in the opening, the citrus notes are stronger, and in the dry-down, the vanilla is more intense, sweetening it. In everything else, the rose and patchouli remain throughout the evolution, and in that sense, it’s the same as the original.

  • I like it more than the original. I was reluctant to try the Idôle flankers because the original doesn’t suit me much anyway. It has the combination of pears and roses that already tires me, and it’s quite powdery, which I don’t like at all. However, all the flankers I’ve tried so far have surprised me for the better. Regarding the Intense, what I can say initially is that the powdery note isn’t as sharp; on the contrary, it’s very wearable. The base makes it more seductive, and the fact that they’ve changed the pears for orange/mandarin makes the opening quite more citrusy. But not a sharp citrus, that enveloping base is always present. Nevertheless, there’s something that doesn’t fully convince me; I feel it’s a bit generic, like something I’ve heard before. But I like it much more than the original. Something else I noticed when I’ve been smelling it for a long time is that there’s a point that reminds me of a cigarette, very subtle, but it slightly unbalances me. I suppose it has to do with the bitter orange and the base. Anyway, it’s not something that’s felt too much; you have to pay ATTENTION to it. If I have to compare it with the original, which I find hyper-generic, I’ll stick with this. It feels like a scent suitable for a club or a disco too!

  • Suspiros Malonhey

So far, I hadn’t found a single Idole flanker that I liked, let alone one that lasted at least an hour; the projection was non-existent in all cases except this one. When I’d already given up on having any Idole in my collection, out of curiosity I tested it on the back of my hand. I liked the opening, started paying attention to the evolution of this Intense, and realised that after the first hour, the aroma, beyond evolving, had an exquisite rose scent. To be more precise, I detected Turkish rose, very sensual and fine, combined with the three types of jasmine. I followed the evolution, and upon reaching the dry-down, with the base notes that give body to the other versions, it was still there. Two hours would have passed, the projection was moderate and a bit more. I’m someone who uses strong fragrances, even vintage ones that almost no one uses. Thinking that by four hours it would have disappeared, that didn’t happen. It lasted easily more than 8 hours. I say this because I tested it in the afternoon/evening, and by the time I went to bed, it passed the hand-washing test and rubbing against sheets… When I woke up, I could still smell the DNA of this fragrance close to my skin. That’s what finally convinced me to add it to my collection. What I have to admit is that its price is a bit high considering the whole line comes in 75 ml and no set with a scented cream is offered, or sometimes they bring a small 15 ml vial as in other cases. Anyway, I bought it and I like it a lot. I think yes, in winter it had that performance; in summer, it would surely shine even more. The truth is, they should offer the same quantity of product as the rest of the Idoles which come in 100 ml and are presented in a set. It’s easy to deduce why it doesn’t have 100 ml: in this case, they used a higher concentration of essential oils. The truth is, I’m a huge fan of the Lancôme brand, but it seems a bit unfair that they do this kind of thing… Anyway, I don’t think the brand cares about my opinion on this aspect. We’ll see if for Mother’s Day, Christmas, etc., they deign to make sets with this variety or an edition of 100 ml.

  • It’s exquisite… fresh floral, but not that Neroli or Azhar kind of floral… The rose is almost imperceptible. It lifts your mood. But I can’t stand the patchouli; it’s present in the dry-down and what lingers on clothes. The truth is, it’s an ingredient they should stop using as it’s very invasive and transforms into something mature.

  • I love it. My first Idole was the Aura, which was gifted to me; luckily it was 30 ml as I don’t like it at all. This one, however… instant love at first sniff: fresh, floral, woody, with a soapy/clean touch and very elegant. It evokes the same well-being and feelings as another of my favourites, Allure EDP by Chanel. Although I’m not saying they’re identical or similar, just that they make me feel equally good. I don’t appreciate its longevity on skin as much as on clothes; when I go to wash, the clothes remain perfumed. The only thing I don’t like is that the bottle isn’t 100 ml, as it’s not very economical. But it’s worth it; it seems to be from the Maison line 👍🏻

  • Perla Vencis

This liquid is roses with very woody jasmine. When first applied, it smells sweet, but then that sensation fades and all that remains is a beautiful floral aroma with woody notes. Now I know that if you’re looking for a woody floral perfume, Idole Intense is an excellent choice. Another success from Lancôme that I’ve enjoyed.

  • I love it and I simply can’t stand the original, which had something very marked of musk or patchouli that I couldn’t identify. This one, however… it’s sweet roses that aren’t cloying; you can still feel the jasmine, and in the end, it leaves a soapy scent with a hint of roses. 😊

  • It’s the only Idole that has truly won me over. That woody touch makes it ideal for autumn; it smells of blooming mandarin, sweet and floral, not fruity. The patchouli is barely noticeable once it dries, which is a shame as I adore that note, though I look for other fragrances for that. It stands out more during the day, yet has a certain ‘something’ that makes it versatile for evening without being too nocturnal. I’m not sure if it’s discontinued, as I wanted to restock it and it was so hard to find; perfumeries told me they haven’t had stock for ages, and on the Lancôme website, they only have the 25 ml (at least here in Spain).

  • anamaestracorreo

The best version of all the Idoles. They just had it and then discontinued it. Online it’s harder to find by the day, and in physical stores it disappeared since the Now launch. My theory on why they discontinued the Idole Intense is: ‘Since we didn’t pull the best flanker from the line, all subsequent launches won’t sell because they’ll be worse. So we remove it. We care more about making noise with new launches than keeping a good one forever. That way, we give people work creating new versions.’ Whatever, that’s my take.

  • This is the first time a perfume hasn’t smelled like what it says. To me, it smells like strong, unpleasant soap. In fact, I don’t like any Idole. I recommend trying before buying… try any Idole first; they aren’t perfumes to buy blindly.

  • Don’t buy it blindly. It smells strongly of rose, jasmine, and musk; on my skin the flowers dominate, and I don’t detect vanilla or wood. It ends up being creamy and soapy; I wouldn’t recommend it for summer.

  • It’s true that it’s hard to find now, but honestly, I’m not dying to buy it again. My husband loves it when I wear it, but I find it very invasive and annoying at first. Then it softens and I like it more. It lasts a long time and even smells on clothes the next day. I recommend trying it on skin before buying. I recommend it, but I wouldn’t buy it again myself.

  • I love it; it lasts forever on the skin and leaves a trail wherever you go. If you wear this, people will definitely know you’ve been there.

  • What I like most about this Idole is its quality: it lasts longer and leaves a better trail than the others. The scent suits me, although without that sweet touch found in the others. It’s super floral and soapy, smelling of laundry powder, with jasmine and roses dominating. It’s lovely, delicate, and clean, though the flowers can be a bit sharp at times. Ideal for fresh days.

  • BeatrizBlackwood

From the very first moment it smells of wood, then the roses, jasmine, and musk emerge. It leaves a stellar, delicate, and very elegant trail. It’s a beautiful perfume; the citrus notes are balanced with patchouli thanks to the vanilla and sandalwood. I wish I could always have it; I bought the 50ml bottle and now that I know it’s being discontinued, I’m itching to stock up. Versatile, beautiful, you can’t ask for more.

  • What a beauty. It has more body than the regular Idole. It feels incredibly refined and lasts forever on my skin. I enjoy it most on cold days.

  • andreassm

I love it! It’s super versatile, perfect for summer days. Sweet but elegant, not that heavy gourmand kind. I prefer the intense version; the regular one isn’t quite as good. Lasts a long time; you smell like yourself and everyone around you. Be careful though, try it first as it changes a lot and features roses and patchouli. I usually don’t like roses, but I can handle them here thanks to the blend, so do try it!
