  1. Tamachan

    * Review edited after deciding to keep the bottle * This fragrance is definitely not for shy people or those seeking a soft trail. Oud Ambroisie is a potent, honeyed floral oud with immense personality; it has just the right amount of sweetness to dress a lady or gentleman in elegance (yes, in my opinion it is very unisex). It starts with a piercing, slightly boozy oud that takes a moment to digest, but within seconds it calms down and blends with pure, fresh honey, followed by Lancome’s exquisite and distinguished rose. As it dries down, the rose and honey take centre stage; I detect a hint of vanilla that adds creaminess and more sweetness, and at times it feels spiced, as if frankincense is being burned… there must be some hidden oriental nuance. In short, it is dense and persistent on the skin for the whole day; I haven’t applied it for 48 hours now (having showered twice) and I can still smell traces on my wrist. Ideally, I would wear it at night, at a wedding party or formal event, though very cold days would not be an exception.

  3. It reminds me a little of Ferrari Oud. More polished, finer, higher quality and sweeter. It is not bad, but these combinations are already overused.

  4. Warm woody with a sweet touch. It is a complex perfume, not by the number of notes, but by its character. At first it smells of alcohol and typical Lancome oud, but then the alcohol fades and a balanced, realistic honey emerges. The blend becomes warmer and deeper, with a rose incense aroma (if there is such a thing). It is mysterious, elegant and very unisex. In my view, it fits perfectly for formal events and at night.
