Ange ou Demon Le Secret Elixir by Givenchy is a chypre floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2011, this olfactive composition unfolds with top notes of tea, Amalfi lemon and neroli. • It starts very citrusy and fresh, with the neroli dominating at the beginning, but then the jasmine emerges as the main note. I don’t smell frangipani or patchouli; the vanilla is very subtle and gives it that sweet touch. It doesn’t smell of intense grape, as I expected for an Elixir. It lasted about 6 hours on my skin, it is not overwhelming, and it doesn’t offend other people’s noses; it seems very soft. So far, I have liked it very much in this cold season.

At first, it smells of grape with neroli and orange blossom, very citrusy. Then the orange blossom and jasmine come together with the grape, and you feel a woody base (cedar and patchouli) with a touch of vanilla and tea. Although it is sweet, it feels fresh and very feminine. They don’t mention the grape, but it is there from start to finish. Some say it is a night scent, but I have liked it for everyday wear. Its longevity is over 10 hours and the trail is high to moderate.

  • I liked it very much. It is a very original, mysterious, and sensual floral. The neroli, frangipani, and the woody base note are well perceived. I categorise it as a dark and enigmatic fragrance, more appropriate for evening wear.

  • I agree that it smells of grape, flowers, wood, and a little citrus. Everything in an original and feminine combination; the neroli is very noticeable. I like it for summer. It is very distinctive; my aunt wore it at her wedding and it looked splendid. I noticed her perfume as soon as I greeted her, and instead of congratulating her, she said ‘Givenchy’. I smiled with satisfaction. Incredible longevity and trail!

  • Floral Chypre was exactly what I was looking for; I am getting familiar with this olfactive family. It is now among my top three favourites: oriental, gourmand, and chypre. Givenchy has great potential; although they have made mistakes, Ange ou Demon Le Secret Elixir is a great success. It is one of the few here with only positive comments; nobody dislikes it. It is rich and elegant; on my skin I notice a lot of neroli, but the musk, tea, and vanilla follow their perfect rhythm. The trail is moderate and it clings to the skin for hours. I agree with SeleneHdez; I prefer it for daytime, it doesn’t seem like a night scent. The ideal season is spring. Although I like it, I won’t buy it for now, but I would love for it to be part of my collection. The bottle is stylish and describes the perfume. I love its name even more. 8/10.

It smells of mystery, like an afternoon in a cemetery. It is an inexplicable scent, strong yet exciting. It has a bit of everything, ideal for mysterious and determined women. If you give yourself the chance, you will understand what I mean.

I found it by chance while looking for deals and hadn’t seen anything like it: it came in a set with the D’Avila Noir Eau de Toilette in 125 ml and this one in 100 ml. It was an incredible bargain, at less than half the price, so I couldn’t resist. I loved it without even trying it; I already had a crush on Alien, but this is identical to me: I am in love and delighted by the deal.

  • It is unique and sophisticated; there is no comparison. What I notice most is the tea mixed with something indistinct. My only drawback is that it doesn’t leave much of a trail and doesn’t last long on my skin, so I have to reapply it sometimes. But the scent captivates me, and I will buy it again when I finish.

  • I absolutely love it. My husband gave it to me as a gift because he knows my passion is for imported scents. It leaves a soft, sweet, feminine, and sensual aroma. He chose it for me, whereas I spent hours in the perfume shop trying to find something, yet he guessed instantly: Ange ou Demon.

I bought it a few days ago and WOW, I was surprised that so many people told me how good it smelled. The neroli really stands out on me. It lasted all day, though it softened in the last few hours. I’m a guy and I loved it, just like everyone else.

  • I adore it; it’s one of my favourites. I wear it daily for work and feel comfortable and uplifted. At first it’s very citrusy, then woody with patchouli. It doesn’t leave a strong trail; it’s an intimate perfume that stays on the skin but is only noticeable if you’re very close. It’s elegant and exotic. I’d give it an 8.

  • I currently use it depending on my mood. When I’m feeling strong and positive, I wear it. It’s floral, citrusy and woody. It lasts well and throughout the day leaves a vanilla scent.

  • I tried it and would never buy it again. I never liked it; it smells like you haven’t put anything on.

In this perfume I feel: feminine, sexy and attractive. I feel this way because everyone asks me about the scent. I love it.

  • Same as the classic but it doesn’t last as long on the skin. I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • mamamundi

It didn’t last at all on my skin, despite using the full sample. It smells alright but doesn’t make up for such poor longevity.

  • A warm fragrance with good longevity. At first it smells of lime, then the flowers, musk and cedar add warmth. It’s not overpowering but comforting. It suits my skin well and I’ve received compliments on the trail, although I don’t notice it myself. Perhaps it helps that I wear it with my clothes.

  • I tried it yesterday. I had doubts about the classic Ange ou Démon, but I prefer this Elixir version. It’s similar but richer. Good trail and it lasted over eight hours. It starts citrusy, then cedar and vanilla take over. I’ll be buying it soon; ideal for spring and summer.

  • Pink Panther

Le Secret Elixir is sweet, sensual and feminine. Warning: it is very sweet. It clings to the skin and leaves a trail. I love how it evolves over time. With this one, Givenchy has truly won me over.

  • I went to buy a perfume that felt good and left a trail; I had fixed ideas, but the very friendly saleswoman told me she felt this fragrance. I wasn’t entirely sure because I didn’t like the other Ange ou Demon, so she applied it and wow, I fell in love immediately. What an aroma, oh my god, a delight. The truth is, it lasts a long time on me; undoubtedly, each person’s skin plays a primordial role regarding scent and longevity, as some say it doesn’t last at all while others say more or less, and in my case, it lasts, lasts, and lasts. Even with the summer climate in my country, it smells exquisite and doesn’t bother others; on the contrary, they love it.

  • Macanahimelli

Sisiii, I have it; I always wanted it and now it’s in my hands. I love it; it’s a rich, fresh, mysterious scent that enchants. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it.

  • I’ve been chasing this fragrance for about five years, here and there, because normally it’s not suitable for every wallet. Finally, a deal appeared and my husband gifted it to me because he knew how much I was longing for it; otherwise, I wouldn’t have bought it (€90 stings, you know! ;P). I remember the first time I heard of it; it was a fresh, clean scent, reminding me of spring, and I fell in love. Now I wear it, and as I said before, I radiate a soft scent, like fruit and flowers; it’s not heavy or cloying at all, not excessively sweet; in fact, I wouldn’t describe it as sweet, certainly not synthetic. I love it; it’s become one of my favourites for everyday wear. I think you can wear it for any occasion and season. If it’s true that I notice it more intimately, that it makes an impression at short distances, well, when I first saw the bottle, I thought it would be heavier, but no, I was wrong; it’s perfect.

  • Of all the perfumes I own, this is by far the highest quality. I believe there are categories among imported perfumes. I have two Givenchys and they cannot be compared. It’s eternal; it can last all day or more; to make it disappear completely, I have to take a shower. It also has a good trail. You’re recognised on the street immediately. Even in the bottle, you can see the dedication, not just in the shape but in the material; it’s a finer glass. I really like how it feels on the trail; I perceive a creamier aspect better (jasmine? vanilla?). On me, what doesn’t quite convince me is the acidic touch I notice on the skin; I think it’s lemon, but I’m not good at distinguishing notes. I’ll still use it gladly, especially for special occasions; it’s a perfume that pleases, distinguished, sensual but refined. It’s extremely subtle and complex, evolving as it develops. A friend said it smells like ‘expensive perfume’; it doesn’t go unnoticed. My recommendation: if you liked it, don’t hesitate to buy it; it’s an excellent investment. Longevity 10/10, Trail 10/10, Sillage 10/10. Fragrance: for its subtlety, I give it 10/10, though to my taste 9. Occasions: night, outings, dates. It adapts to winter and summer; it’s all in one: fresh, citrusy, floral, but strong and vanilla without being cloying. Suitable for all tastes, an all-rounder!

  • According to perfumería Prieto, Givenchy is discontinuing it. I had it at a promotional price and took a 100ml bottle for €42.76, a total bargain. Months passed and I saw it was still at that price, so I relaxed, but this week when I tried to buy another, it wasn’t on their website. I thought they’d made a mistake, as that price is usually for the 30ml, so I sent them a message. They replied very kindly that they were discontinuing it and preparing the stock to return to the brand, but that they still offered the option to buy a few bottles at the promotional price in a special batch. Now I’m waiting for two 100ml bottles. I’ll treasure them like gold, even if it’s just one. I wanted to share this in case you’re lovers of this perfume like me; I refuse to stop wearing it. I’m also considering that perhaps they’ll change the packaging and get rid of the old bottles (I don’t mind), but even so, at that price it’s a steal. Best regards!

  • darlenerock

I owned it for a long time and remember it with great fondness. I loved the trail it left.

  • Beautiful fragrance, one of my most recent purchases. I’ve wanted it for ages and never had the chance. I was going to grab the 30ml, but seeing it was being discontinued, I took the 50ml without hesitation. It’s very long-lasting with an excellent trail and a unique aroma I haven’t found anywhere else (apart from a certain similarity to Ange ou Demon Le Secret). It’s ideal if you want people to recognise you by your scent; it’s unforgettable. It’s not for everyday wear, not because it’s heavy, but because it’s so special. Its longevity is on another level; it’s the longest-lasting of the three years I’ve been testing perfumes. I consider it perfect for weddings or elegant day and night events.

  • Just tried it and it brought back memories of an Avon fragrance I adored, Sentiment. I never thought I’d feel that scent again, but I’m instantly smitten. As soon as I can, I’ll buy one because there are only a few left.

  • Very good scent. Among the floral, citrus, and woody notes, I find a little tobacco note at the end, which gives it a sensual touch. Good longevity on skin and excellent projection; it’s one of the perfumes that have received the most praise. Highly recommended. 👌🏻

  • Too beautiful a fragrance. At first, it seems strong, but it settles quickly and leaves a spectacular scent that projects and lasts for ages. As hours pass, it becomes softer but remains delicious. I can’t say which note I like most, but definitely, it’s delicious. My mum used it, and it was noticeable from metres away. It’s incredible how the scent changes on another skin and remains amazing. 10/10.

  • I loved it; I’m so sorry they’ve discontinued it. I still keep a little bottle, and it has a bit of scent that reminds me of so many lovely moments. People have praised it endlessly, and I remember how happy it made me to wear it. It lasted a long time on skin, clothes, and hair; even people said it stuck to their noses. I loved it, I love it, and I’ll love it forever.

  • perfumitos

It was delicious! I tried it and bought it. This little perfume suits me all the time (I’ve bought several that sometimes work and other times don’t); I think it suits everyone’s pH. Once I entered a pharmacy chain that sells personal care, books, and sweets; when I paid, the cashier said: ‘It’s you! You smell delicious, you smell like sweets’. Yes! It smelled like grape sweets. On me, it lasted about six hours, and at the end, a very soft sweet floral remained. If it reappears, I’d buy it without hesitation. Similar fragrances are different and don’t stay the same.

  • Isabeltoujours

Incredible as it may seem, there are still some 50ml bottles left in a perfumery in my town. If anyone is interested, write to me and I’ll act as a courier 😊

  • Purple: elegant and mysterious, interesting because it’s soft yet has character. It was a gift from my mum; I think it would be difficult to get on my own as it’s discontinued. She had it for a long time and hardly used it, thinking it would suit me. I detect patchouli, vanilla, and musk, but above all the grape accord, which doesn’t appear on the list and is curious. I don’t notice green tea or jasmine, which is a pity. I think it’s unisex, perfect for evening wear with a sexy look or for outings in autumn and winter. It doesn’t project much, but it lasts for ages. It adds an enigmatic touch to my collection.

  • Elizabethah

The best I’ve tried; I owned it and now I’ve bought it again after searching everywhere because it was discontinued. It’s mysterious, elegant, and citrusy; I sense a grape note even though it’s not listed. It’s such a unique scent that no one else has, it’s one of a kind. I love it.

  • liloinblack

The best I’ve ever tried, and I have less than half a bottle left. I saved it for special occasions, but it looks stunning at night, especially in winter. Perhaps it doesn’t project much, but it lasts incredibly long; even after a shower, it still releases its scent. It has great character: over time, you notice the vanilla and white flowers, whereas at first, it smells like grape sweets. I hope to find it again at a good price.

  • The richest in the world; I adore it and need to get my hands on it again. If anyone knows where to buy it in Argentina, please let me know. Thanks!
