I first met this perfume years ago at an airport and was instantly smitten, though I chose another from the same brand at the time. I managed to buy it later, but it faded from my memory until a friend gifted me a 5ml decant out of nostalgia. What luck! It’s mysterious, elegant and personal, without being overpowering, yet lasts for hours on the skin in a very subtle way. It features clean, powdery florals.

I love and adored this perfume… it’s my signature scent for life, even though it’s discontinued. It’s elegant and tender all at once, incredibly delicate and feminine. I’m heartbroken that they’ve taken it off the shelves; with resignation, it’s worse than finding nothing that comes close. It’s simply unique. I have one at 40% and another sealed 50ml bottle that feel like water from the fountain of youth.

It lacks my favourite notes, but it was a gift from my husband and I adored it. I remember it with nostalgia and still keep a little bit. It has good longevity and, if I’m not mistaken, smells woody and powdery without being overpowering.

Anything Armani puts on the market seems guaranteed to be a hit. This scent gives me a real sense of calm; I wear it in autumn. ✅ Well done, Armani ✅

It was a perfume I owned but couldn’t find again. The first time I smelled it, I thought, ‘it smells like a perfumery’ – that special aroma of blended scents in the shops – and I loved it. It has lasting power and projection; I’d say it’s more suited to autumn and winter. I’m eagerly waiting for it to return to stock.

It’s not among my favourites. I find it a bit too heavy for my taste. It’s not ugly, but it just doesn’t convince me.

It’s not among my favourites. I find it very cloying for my taste. It’s not ugly, but it simply doesn’t convince me.

It’s back on sale, at least online.

It’s spectacular. I cry because it’s been discontinued for years and there’s no way to find it again.

It’s a FABULOUS, ELEGANT, MYSTERIOUS and WARM perfume. To me, it’s a masterpiece by Armani, perfect for winter. It’s delicious, long-lasting, and has a great trail. I love perfumes with flowers and woods because they last and add warmth in winter. The citrus notes stand out, like caramelised or liqueur-infused orange. It’s one of my go-to scents and shares virtues with other favourites: Burberry London, Mugler Alien, Moschino Glamour, Lowe Aura, and perhaps Dior Poison. They are persistent, sensual and stylish. I recommend it for women over 30, in cold weather, used in moderation.

It’s spectacular. I cry because it’s been discontinued for years and there’s no way to find it again. It’s FABULOUS, ELEGANT, MYSTERIOUS and WARM. I consider it a masterpiece by Armani, especially for winter. It’s delicious, long-lasting and has a great trail. I love perfumes with florals and woods because they linger on the skin and add warmth in the cruelest winter. The citrus notes, such as caramelised or liqueur-like orange, really stand out. For me, it’s one of my go-to perfumes and shares virtues with my other favourites: London by Burberry, Alien by Mugler, Glamour by Moschino, Aura by Loewe and perhaps Poison by Dior. Persistent, sensual and stylish perfumes. I recommend it for women aged 30 and above, in colder weather, and use it sparingly.

It’s a good perfume with a nice trail and longevity. I share the opinion that it’s elegant and sensual. I think it’s a versatile aroma in terms of occasions; for daily wear it’s a rich scent without being overwhelming (if sprayed moderately), it can be used in hot climates and outdoors as it’s noticeable. However, it has a special warmth and sensuality that make it ideal for night and romantic dates. It’s one of my favourites.

This perfume is paradise; an exquisite, hard-to-match scent that you must try. It’s spectacular.

This is my third bottle. Another exquisite Armani fragrance, just like Code. I receive many compliments. Although it’s not my signature, I absolutely love it and will keep buying it.

This was my last purchase. I really like it and I think it has become a classic Armani scent.

DolceBlackSwan
Definitely one of my favourites. It has many notes and is very varied; it doesn’t always smell the same, it’s unpredictable… but if you wear it, people notice. When you greet them, they ask what you’re wearing. It smells wonderful 🙂

It was a bit too light for summer. As for me, I prefer long-lasting scents… it felt a little thin on me.

I owned it and didn’t like it. It smells very citrusy; on me, it’s tangerine with jasmine. I bought it by mistake, thinking it was Code. I used it three times, it fell and broke, and my whole room smelled of Armani Mania for a month. It was so frustrating having to clean up the mess. I didn’t mind it breaking from the start since I didn’t like it anyway. Who doesn’t drop a perfume bottle? I’ve now lost two.

I tried it and didn’t like it: it smells very citrusy; on my skin it’s mandarin with jasmine. I bought it thinking it was Armani Code. I used it about three times, it fell and broke; my whole room smelled of Armani Mania for a month. I was so annoyed that the breakage didn’t even hurt, it was the rage of having to clear up the mess that got to me. Who hasn’t dropped a perfume? I’ve now had two.

Delicious; women adore it.
It’s identical to U By Ungaro Fever for Him from Avon. The first hour is indistinguishable to my nose, then it steps away to take on its Armani personality, becoming soft and masculine, pleasing all women… However, it didn’t spark my interest. I consider it a citrus-spicy-woody accord, each representing a phase.
Another scent I loved when I tried it, but, as they say, it just doesn’t suit me. The issue is its sillage and longevity; on me, it lasted about two hours and the projection was so faint I could barely detect it. If you’re seeking something intimate, it might be for you, though I’d advise testing before buying. Given the price, I wouldn’t recommend it blindly; better to try it first, as it hovers around $100.
Armani Mania is an excellent woody fragrance: versatile, modern and with great performance. It has slipped into the realm of oblivion, where I personally rejoice in wearing it against the majority who smell of Invictus or Sauvage. Using a discontinued scent offers many possibilities; it’s a sweet woody fragrance, very sensual, with dry, spiced nuances achieved. Signed by Francis Kurkdjian, a nose with several home runs. If you’re looking for something versatile and enjoy wood, here’s the answer. It’s not for blind buying; it requires effort to appreciate its virtues. If you like its performance, it will certainly be one of your favourites.
It smells lovely, although the price is steep.
My number one without a doubt.
This could be my favourite. That smoky note denotes elegance yet feels vibrant at the same time, earning me many compliments. I still keep a little bit of a 2013 bottle as if it were gold; what a shame they discontinued it.
I had it in 2010–2011. At first, it didn’t convince me—I was looking for longevity and projection—but over time I came to understand it, though I did need to reapply. I wore it at university, paired it with leather jackets, and it blended perfectly with Armani Mania, giving off a leather vibe. It was one of the scents I swapped for Le Male; if I could get hold of it again, I’d definitely buy it once more.
I tested it in its golden era, 2004–2005. It lasted forever; it’s that sweet masculine scent that doesn’t drift into unisex territory—a floral orange note with effeminate touches. Sublime, long-lasting yet discreet in its trail. It was Armani’s signature: subtle, nothing overwhelming, but you’d still notice it. Recently, my uncle (RIP) left me a bottle after clearing out his room; it smells the same but feels less dense. I’m furious that vintage fragrances from those years are so expensive. It was wonderful while it lasted; I wish I’d owned it at 17–19 instead of 13–15.
I bought it for the first time in 2006 and have not been able to stop wearing it since. For me, who is not an expert in scents, it smells unique and very classy. Ideal for formal or casual wear (not sportswear) and has generated an incredible number of compliments. I used it for almost ten years until the last bottle ran out; afterwards it was discontinued and difficult to find. I managed to get hold of it again in 2020 in Italy at a higher price, but in my opinion it is worth it. I hope Armani relaunches it, because it is a real hit.
I bought this perfume for the first time in 2006. Since then, I couldn’t stop using it. In my opinion, its scent is unique. I’m not an expert in aromas, so I won’t list the notes, but rather the sensations: it’s a perfume with a singular scent, very classy, ideal for formal or casual wear (not sport). The number of compliments it has generated has been incredible. I used it for almost 10 years until the last bottle ran out. After they discontinued it, it was hard to find. I recovered it in 2020 in Italy, of course, at a higher price, but from my perspective, it’s worth it. I wish Armani would resume production and relaunch it, because it’s a class bomb.
‘Soft designer’. Like many, I share that it doesn’t last long, the trail is almost non-existent, and the price is abusive. Now, its pros: versatility and being a king in romantic settings, whether at dinner or in intimacy. It’s not intrusive, but as it moves close to the skin, that’s its strong suit because the scent is indeed distinct. I find no similarity to anything. If it had more strength, it would be ideal for a gala. Elegant, fresh, and non-invasive. But it only works in romantic/intimate settings; even in an office, it goes unnoticed (it took me days to use it without realising no one noticed). Scent: 9, Quality: 3, Longevity: 4, Projection: 2, Versatility: 3 (because it doesn’t stand out in an office). Nowadays there are dozens of low-cost fragrances for the office, pleasant and with better performance, what a pity because I repeat: its scent is unique in its fresh nuances. Note (7/2021): it’s discontinued in Argentina, I don’t know if worldwide. On e-commerce it costs between 250 and 350 dollars, which makes the price-quality ratio absurd in my country. Fortunately, we’re not in 2002 and there are other options.
Even though it’s discontinued, I remember the first time I had it, fifteen years ago. Saying that illustrates the impact it had on me when I smelled it. In my opinion, it’s the perfect perfume. Not because of versatility, as it has details to improve (like longevity) and suits non-hot climates better, especially at night. Still, I fell in love from the first spray: it’s clean, refined, elegant, and direct. Sincerely, I don’t think anyone could say anything negative about this fragrance. I feel it’s a shame it’s no longer produced, but I feel relieved because I have a new bottle (yes, from 2021) and I can still enjoy the best perfume, by far.
Although it is no longer in production, I still remember my first bottle from fifteen years ago; the impact was sheer. To me, it is the perfect fragrance. Not because it is versatile, as it has some shortcomings such as longevity and works better on cool evenings. Nevertheless, I fell in love at first sniff: it is clean, refined, elegant and direct. Frankly, no one can find anything negative about it. It is a pity they do not produce it, but I am relieved to have a new 2021 bottle and continue enjoying what is, by far, the best perfume.
Sir… take Code and give us back Armani Mania.
The best fragrance from Armani. A tremendous gem. I had it right back in 2002. I was 17, quite the dashing young man, and every time I wore it, my friends would say: ‘Adam, you smell delicious, you smell like a man’. I wish I could have it back again p-e-r-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o. I understand that Dua Fragrances has an inspiration of this in Extrait de Parfum format and say it’s powerful and long-lasting. It’s called Arena. I’ll leave you the info in case anyone wants to get it. I’ll manage to get mine in about four months. Greetings and blessings to all.
WOW, a fragrance that fills me with good memories. I used it in high school and university, and even today it’s one of the scents that have complimented me the most. What a shame it’s no longer in stock.
If it had a more explosive trail, it would be the ideal perfume to make an impact on a date. It is very elegant, fresh, and doesn’t invade. But that’s precisely why it goes unnoticed. I used it a long time ago and always complained about the lack of power. That bothered me because the scent is so original. Scent: 10/10, Trail: 5/10, Projection: 2.5/10.
It was 2007, I was 18, and I met Armani Mania. At first, I didn’t pay it much mind as nothing cast a shadow on AdG for my youthful tastes, but a friend was crazy about that scent, so I tried it. A few weeks ago at a festival in GDL, my wife and I were walking when my nose detected the aroma (or one very similar, perhaps Dua Arena, a casual blend in the air). Suddenly, nostalgia hit hard. What happened to my friend? To her cousins? Why, for heaven’s sake, did they discontinue this and release Stronger With You instead? Since that day, I’ve been searching for a bottle without luck. I’ll settle for Arena, which Goné says is similar. The scent is seductive, masculine, timeless, with a green and spicy opening and an amber base. It didn’t last long, but it marked a stage. I’ll keep searching until I find you, Armani Mania. Nostalgic value: 9/10.
In 2007, just on my eighteenth birthday, I came across Armani Mania. At first I did not pay it any mind because, for me, AdG was the king of youth, but a friend was absolutely obsessed with it (I think she had a cousin or brother who owned some) and that is how I got to know it. A few weeks ago at a festival in Guadalajara, walking with my wife, my nose detected that scent (or something very similar, a mix of aromas floating around) and suddenly everything came back. It has been over ten years since I heard about it; what happened to that friend or her relatives? Why was this discontinued and Stronger With You released instead? Since that day I have been looking for a way to get hold of it without success; I will have to make do with Arena, which according to Goné is similar. Regarding the scent: seductive, masculine, timeless, with a green and spicy opening and an amber base. Although it did not last long, it was one of those scents that mark a stage. I will keep searching until I find you, Armani Mania. (Nostalgic rating: 9/10)
I agree with svazquez7. How is it possible that they threw away this sublime and uncommon fragrance that women love, in order to continue making Armani Code? If so, one would only need to improve its longevity and projection.
Totally agree with svazquez7. How on earth could they throw away this sublime, rare perfume that women adore, just to keep churning out Armani Code? If they’d simply fixed its longevity and projection, it would have been ready to go.
Rising to the day with this scent is pure luxury. It possesses that fresh, spicy, and green structure reminiscent of Lalique White, with a cutting touch of vetiver. The only thing that hurts is how quickly it fades; in Western perfumes, you pay a fortune and get little in return. If only they’d offered better projection, it would be perfect, but its discontinuation is a real blow.
Discontinued and one of the best I’ve had from Armani. I don’t know if Mr Kurkdjian has the touch to create high-quality scents, but it’s a very good fragrance with a unique style for its time.
Armani Mania for Him was magnetic: it blended the strength of cedar and vetiver with the sensuality of amber and musk. It was elegant and fresh, creating an aura of confidence and charisma. It didn’t matter what you wore; with it, you became sophisticated, dressed in Armani. It felt woody and cosy in winter, fresh and citrusy in summer. Currently discontinued.
I wore it when Code and Mania were in vogue. Its strong point was the peculiar, masculine aroma; the saffron, mandarin, and cedar notes were delightful. It was different in an era when everyone wore ADG, Polo Blue, or Safari. However, its weak point was almost zero projection, sitting right on the skin, and lasting less than two hours, forcing constant reapplication. For the price, I found it expensive. Although from the same house as ADG, this stole compliments for its elegance, but the performance was poor. I think Armani discontinued it due to trends; personally, I would have loved a more concentrated Parfum version.
My go-to perfume for casual dates. That scent paired with a leather jacket smells like the prelude to a good, no-strings-attached night. Compliments guaranteed.
Fingers crossed it returns one day.
I hope one day a house launches something, not necessarily identical but very similar with decent performance. This fragrance proves that something different, charming, and compliment-worthy can be made.
What luck that I still have about 20ml of this magic… What a pity it’s a unicorn in perfumery, what a jewel.
The most exquisite man of all; nothing compares. My husband wore it for years, and now it’s a nightmare to find and it’s very expensive, but there’s nothing equal. If anyone knows of a substitute, please recommend it because it’s incredible.
If you’re looking to revive that discontinued scent, check Perfume Parlour Spain with reference HECTIC 0019.
I’ve never tried the original, but the Perfume Parlour dupe smells so rich; the original vanilla must be a beast. The DUA version was okay but lacked punch. In contrast, this Parlour one is a luxury: it smells incredible, lasts well, and while the trail isn’t invasive, it leaves a scent around you for about six or seven hours, which is pure gold.
