Descripción

La Vie est Belle en Rose by Lancôme is a fruity floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2019, this composition was created by Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion. Its top notes of raspberry, red berries, pink pepper and bergamot awaken the senses; the heart reveals the elegance of Damask rose, rose, peony and lily of the valley; while the base settles on patchouli, musk, iris and sandalwood.

Lancôme has got us used to limited-edition releases of their masterpieces. This version number 10,000 (I’ve lost count) is basically LVEB floral with a bit more rose and less longevity. The bottle is gorgeous. If you are a collector, it’s worth having, but if you aren’t, test it on your skin before spending so much on something similar to the original but with less sillage and longevity.

  • Malena0322

I detect absolutely no rose here. It sounds almost identical to the Florale version. It’s not worth spending money on this flanker because the price doesn’t justify the quality or originality. The longevity is poor, although the sillage is slightly potent. The standout notes are raspberry, patchouli, red berries, and lily.

  • alejandro2966

To me, the original La Vie Est Belle is far too cloyingly sweet, but this flanker is a different story. I tested it in-store and was instantly captivated. I’m not comparing it to the floral version, so my opinion is unbiased. It’s a rose that blends beautifully with red berries, creating a gorgeous floral-fruity scent, while the iris adds a light powdery touch at the dry-down. It didn’t feel like the original to me, perhaps because I only tried it once, which was lucky because I loved it and it has excellent longevity. It will definitely be my next purchase, especially now that I’m recovering from my beloved Tresor Musk Diamant.

  • alejandro2966

Personally, I don’t like the original La Vie Est Belle; I find it overwhelming due to the sheer sweetness and can’t understand how people tolerate it. However, this flanker, which I tested in a perfumery recently, fascinates me. I must clarify that I haven’t tested the floral version, so my review is innocent regarding any similarity to it. It is a beautiful rose amalgamated with red berries, giving a charming floral-fruity aroma, while the iris adds a very light powdery touch almost at the dry-down. I didn’t find it similar to the original, perhaps because I only tried it once, which was lucky because I loved it and it has good longevity. It will certainly be my next purchase now that I’ve just recovered from the Tresor Musk Diamant that I adore.

Holy smokes, how elegantly and exquisitely refined is this version of Vie Est Belle In Rose. Its roses are powdery and intoxicating, richly intermingling with the other ingredients to create something majestic. It has something that reminds me of So Pretty by Cartier. It has a well-manufactured balance and equilibrium that make it simply beautiful. I’ve fallen in love with this beautiful perfume.

  • This version is the one! And watch out, I’ve tried the European toilette version. It’s the sweet, young, and floral aroma I expected to accompany me through all my days. It’s an LVEB version for spring-summer, although those aromas work well in any situation. After all, a perfume is a shortcut to recording memories, but what aroma identifies you? I find that here. It’s fresher than the original without losing its identity, ideal for dinners or special moments. More floral, equally long-lasting, with a luscious trail and less intrusive, perfect for the office or the library. Then, its elegance envelops you at dinners with friends or short dates. This aroma makes people remember you; it has its own identity. What I like most is its architecture: how it evolves, revealing the dance of roses, red fruits, and citrus without getting lost in the intense sweetness of the original.

  • I just tried a sample and it’s very pleasant and fruity. The raspberry stands out a lot when it dries down, while the rose is only felt at the beginning, very subtle. It reminds me a lot of Coach The Fragrance; they have almost identical notes, but I find Vie Est Belle In Rose sweeter.

  • Karen_leon

I love this fragrance: it starts with a potent bouquet of roses that gives way to raspberry, creating a cheerful, tender, and super feminine aroma. The iris adds a powdery and distinguished touch, very youthful and elegant, maintaining that warmth of LVEB as if you were wearing baby powder. It’s perfect for day or night, not too casual, ideal for formal family gatherings. At first, the rose gave me a headache, but since I loved it, I used it sparingly in low doses until I got used to it; today it’s my daily perfume. It lasts 7 or 8 hours. I recommend it for hot days or humid nights; outdoors, its trail is noticeable without being excessive.

  • Sweetly enchanting with the DNA of LVB but in a cosmetic version that evolves to fix roses on the skin.

  • It’s delicious! I love it because I adore LVEB and wanted to try this just to avoid repetition, and I loved it because I feel it’s exactly like the other but softer, more feminine, less sweet, a bit more elegant and refined. It’s super versatile and, most importantly, it lasts! Which has me completely enchanted. I can feel it, it’s noticeable, it lingers. I’m so happy.

  • I tried this perfume today; I thought it would be fruitier given the notes, but I was surprised to find it more floral. It’s light, not for evening wear, and suits any season. I must say I’ve preferred the original LVEB to this version; I like that sweetness that comes through after hours of wearing LVEB in Rosé. As for age, I think it suits any age. It’s a rather discreet or ‘piola’ fragrance, as we say here.

  • I find a similar base to LVEB, but much more floral and soft. It allows several sprays because it’s discreet, spring-like, and cheerful. Would I buy it? No, but if someone gifted it to me, I’d gladly accept it.

  • Amarilisbelladona

What a delight! It’s tender, feminine, and youthful; I love it more than LVEB. Upon application, it’s delicate and fruity, with juicy raspberry giving way to a bouquet of roses with pink pepper and patchouli. As it settles, it becomes a harmonious blend with a slightly woody and musky base; when it dries down, there’s a powdery touch from the iris that gives it that special point. It’s sweet but less so than LVEB, reminiscent of Miss Dior 2017. It’s excellent and super youthful, ideal for a 25-year-old girl; I gifted it to my eldest daughter, and she’s head over heels—she’s already gone through a 50ml bottle in two months. I understand, it’s beautiful and in winter it caresses you; it’s warm, its trail wraps around you and makes you feel good. I can picture a bride in a white dress and Damask roses, scented with LVEB in Rosé leaving a trail towards the altar. It’s very versatile, good trail without being intrusive, and good longevity: about six hours, broad for the first three, then at medium distance, and finally skin scent. It lasts on fabric until the garment is washed, and if you perfume a coat, the whole wardrobe smells. Fragrance of 10 out of 10!

  • My beloved En Rose, how beautiful you are. Fresh and sweet roses bathed in raspberry juice with a touch of iris; you are gorgeous, juicy, and jovial. I like you so much that I forgive your longevity; I would love for you to last longer; that is the only thing I would change. However, if they improve the performance without altering the scent, I will stick with this even if I have to reapply every 3-4 hours, because I simply adore your aroma.

I love it!!! It’s a citrus and sweet perfume, with a fresh opening and a dry-down that has the DNA of the original LVB. I like the dry-down of the traditional one very much, but it has a very strong opening that can be annoying. Conversely, in this EDT, I found an opening to my liking and the dry-down I enjoy; it’s perfect. For an EDT, it has wonderful behaviour regarding projection and longevity on the skin. It has transformed into one of my favourites, fresh for spring and summer. Edit: the description above is for LVEB in Rose but Batch 2021. I recently acquired one from 2019 and it is less fruity, less citrusy in the opening, and sweeter in the dry-down. I love both, and although they keep their spirit, I think the launch date version is more delicate and the 2021 is more wild.

  • I love it in its original 2019 formula: it was sweet without being cloying, feminine, and delicate. In the words of my little niece (8 years old and a lover of this fragrance): ‘This is how I imagine Disney princesses should smell,’ and she’s right; it smells of princess, tenderness, and femininity. Not so with the current formula; it’s disappointing that they changed it to something citrusy, which to my nose seems more like a citrus floral, other perfumes to use on holiday…

  • I knew I would like this version for its notes 😍. On me, the rose, raspberry, and iris stand out, giving it that dusty touch which could recall the original LVEB, but it doesn’t remind me of it. The one I have is from June 2021, and now I’m curious to try the 2019 version. A pity they reformulated it so soon.

  • Andrea perfumona

A pity they reformulated this fragrance; it was so rich, sweet, and feminine, and now all I detect is a harsh, low-quality musk with notes of old makeup accompanied by something citrusy.

  • aniram inodiv

It’s a beautiful perfume. I like perfumes with presence, and I must say this is delicate, but I forgive it because the fragrance is so, so lovely. I detect similarities with Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming EDP and, more distantly, Valentino Donna EDP. If I must speak of the scent, it’s one of my favourites in my collection. I feel it floral, fruity, creamy, with a fresh touch and a measured sweetness. I think it’s a perfect conjunction of notes; I adore the iris alongside the musk. I highly recommend it, even for layering with the EDP by using the EDP on other parts of the body further from the nose. I would buy it again if 💖💖💖

  • What a surprise with this aroma! Positively! I’ve tried the LVEB original, Éclat, and Cristal Soleil, and none of them quite please me when dried down; they have a slightly bitter note I can’t identify, very strong and a bit stately for my taste. But this in the opening is such a delicious fruity scent, I suppose the raspberry gives it that touch, I loved it. When dried, I feel it’s a bit similar to the others, however, much richer and more tolerable to my taste. Mind you, I’m not an expert at all, but I love perfumes.

  • Manu_speranza

Floral and very fruity aroma. What I notice most is pink pepper, raspberry, and rose. It’s not a fresh rose, but a sweet one subtly dusted with iris in the base. It reminds me of Alejandro Sanz’s Mi Acorde Ella (which is said to be a dupe of LVEB), but En Rose is more sparkling and fresh due to the bergamot. A very wearable scent for spring and summer, lovely, feminine, nothing extraordinary but simply beautiful.

  • It’s the only LVEB I’ve liked. I tried the original, Éclat, Cristal Soleil, and Intensément, and they were horrible… too cloying and annoying. I came to this one resigned, but knowing it had roses, I wanted to give it a chance, and wow! It’s exquisite without being intrusive. It’s sweet with a fresh touch. You can quite notice the patchouli at the base, but it doesn’t displease. Its sillage is moderate and its longevity for an EDT is good. I was actually surprised.

  • It is the absolute jewel. It doesn’t tire you out, doesn’t give you a headache, and brings joy. It must be applied in moderation as it can be a little cloying (though not overpowering). It’s like a blend of La Vie Est Belle, Tresor Midnight Rose, and Idole. Oh, heavens, this is glory! It’s magnificent; it’s the perfume I’ve finally clicked with and will make my signature scent.

  • It is the most wonderful thing that exists. It’s not tiring, doesn’t give me a headache, and radiates joy. It needs to be applied moderately as it can be a little cloying (though not overpowering). It’s like a blend of La Vie Est Belle, Tresor Midnight Rose, and Idole. Oh, heavens, this is glory. It’s magnificent; it’s a perfume with which I finally clicked, and I will make it my signature scent.

  • It’s a very feminine fragrance. Although it’s an EDT, it has moderate longevity of 3 to 4 hours. The top notes are a delightful fruity charm, but what accompanies you until the end is the powdery trail of the roses. I’ve received several compliments, but I have to re-apply during the day.

  • It’s my signature fragrance. I identify with this scent greatly; it makes me feel comfortable. It’s fresh but noticeable, sweet without being cloying. I’ve received many compliments and it’s undoubtedly the only one in the La Vie Est Belle line that seems exquisite to me because the sweetness of the classic is reduced significantly. Its longevity is quite good, although I can speak from experience having used three bottles; it has faded considerably. The first lasted brilliantly; the last ones have lasted a moderate six hours. They’ve probably been reformulated. I love this fragrance; I could wear it for a lifetime. I give it 9/10 only because its longevity has faded a bit.

  • Stephaniemvp

I bought it because I read it was similar to Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming, and it isn’t. To me, it’s identical to the first version of La Vie Est Belle. I find it distinguished; its longevity is 20/10, but I don’t recommend buying it blindly.

  • MarinaEtoile

I never thought I’d say I loved any version of La Vie Est Belle, but here ‘never say never’ applies. I adore this scent; I tolerate it even in the hottest weather. It doesn’t resemble Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming, which I adore, although both share femininity, delicacy, and that feeling of joy. I’m sorry to admit I suffer from migraines and have a sensitive sense of smell, but this fragrance passed the test. I’m fascinated by how balanced it is and how it blends naturally with my skin. It projects for about four hours before fading away, which doesn’t bother me. I’ll buy it a thousand times again, even if I have to re-apply; the pleasure of smelling good is worth it. In this composition, the fusion of roses, peonies, iris, and sandalwood with a touch of sweet raspberry and citrus bergamot creates the magic; all notes are in perfect balance. I expected no less from these great perfumers; thank you for challenging me, I’ll never again say La Vie Est Belle isn’t for me.

  • Soyyoymiperfume

I must say I couldn’t stand the original LVEB. When I tried the Rose version, it was an unexpected twist… I like this one, I love it… it’s soft, sophisticated, and pleasant. I can wear it in summer without it being overwhelming, which is important to me… Longevity on skin is four hours; if I re-apply, it lasts at least nine, and it fixes very well on clothes. If you want something slightly sweet but not dense, you could give it a try 😉The rose note is executed very well; they are sublime and fresh roses…

I must say I cannot stand the first LVEB. When I tested En Rose, I took an unexpected turn… I like this one, I love it… it is soft, sophisticated, and delicious. I can wear it in summer without feeling overwhelmed, which is important to me. Longevity on skin is 4 hours; if I reapply, it lasts a minimum of 9, and it fixes very well on clothes. If you want something sweet but not dense, give it a try 😉. The rose touch is very well executed; they are sublime and fresh roses.

  • I really like this scent; it’s special for spring and summer. It lasts four hours: the first two project well, the third is still noticeable but fading a bit, and by the fourth hour, it’s gone even close to the skin. On clothes, I’m not sure; I finished the bottle in two months and sprayed it on my neck, arms, and hair. I used it for short outings. I’m not sure if maceration makes it last longer; I bought it and started using it immediately. I loved the scent but won’t buy it again due to longevity; I’m not one to carry bottles in my bag, especially in summer. It reminds me of Jimmy Choo’s Blossom, which is sweeter, has more intimate projection, but lasts much longer. It also recalls a Bath & Body Works body mist, The One, which has excellent longevity.

  • Lizilla Rojas

You can never say never. I tried this fragrance recently, never having been interested in that line before, and it was a pleasant surprise. On my skin, it’s more floral than gourmand, and the patchouli is very subdued. I loved it so much I bought it; previously, I compared a sample from 2019. According to reviews, it has been reformulated, but the new version performs better on my skin and smells much rounder than the 2019 one. The first one seemed like a cologne, very fleeting, leaving no trace of patchouli. What a lovely duo of rose and peony; that’s what I perceive most, what lingers on the skin, and I’m enjoying it immensely.

  • Adriana Archundia Hernánd

It’s a super elegant fragrance; I wear it at work for interviews or meetings. I don’t feel it lasts long or has a strong sillage, but it’s lovely to wear softly. It lasts longer on clothes, though nothing extraordinary. I re-applied during the day to catch the scent as it faded slightly. Although it’s sweet, I don’t find it cloying; it’s more formal and elegant. I wouldn’t recommend it for teenagers as it feels a bit mature; better suited for ages 25 to 30. That’s my personal opinion, of course, everyone decides for themselves.

  • La Vie Est Belle makes me gag; it’s cloying. I liked this one at first, but then realised it wasn’t for me—it’s very sweet and heavy. You have to apply a little, but it can still be overwhelming. I won’t repurchase and haven’t even finished the bottle; I gave it away.

  • AlineTan_val

Smells exactly like Idole, honestly. It should be listed in comparisons; if you own one, the other is unnecessary.
