It’s frustrating to approach a new launch and see how similar they all are. This sweet vanilla is everywhere. The streamlined bottle, the colour, and the black-and-white advertising made me think otherwise, but the pyramid doesn’t deceive. Obsessed starts fresh, slightly sweet, generic but effective, but soon turns into another generic sweet scent. In style and performance, it recalls Armani’s Stronger With You, though here that ambered, sweet vanilla is countered more by citrus than by aromatics or fruits. It has a slightly more acidic and woody touch. On my skin, the opening fades in minutes, almost disappearing lemon and cardamomo to give way to that mainstream sweet base with amber and vanilla. The citrus note remains very discreet and revives a little after several hours with other nuances. Very trite, but not bad. The combination doesn’t quite work for me. Especially on blotting paper: there I notice more cardamomo and for the first time it smells of sweat (doesn’t happen with Déclaration or Voyage). Smelling that paper is like smelling a sweaty armpit to which sweet, vanilla Axe deodorant was applied. I recommend trying it on the skin. I see it for young men and night plans. It performs well, moderate trail, and long-lasting longevity. On the skin I like it, but it doesn’t enchant me. 6.5/10.

I don’t know if it’s novel; I don’t think so, but it’s pleasant and doesn’t smell sweet like the current Ch, Polo, and Rabannes.

This perfume is nothing new or innovative, but it’s very versatile and pleasant. It smells vanilla, soft, and a little sweet. It’s quite good in terms of trail and longevity. It’s a good option for daily use to smell good without complications. I see it as suitable for any time of year. It won’t be a must-have in my collection, but it’s good.
