You look out the window of the wooden cabin: in the dim light of candles you see the tree leaves filled with snow, and through them, the starry sky. After a few drinks of rum and a spiced dinner, you decide to go to sleep without first treating yourself to something sweet, some ripe fruit. And when you open your eyes, you realise that all of that has happened in your imagination just after atomising Halfeti Cedar. This fragrance is so natural that it always gives the sensation of offering scents extracted completely from nature. An excellent perfume, with eternal longevity and huge projection that imparts extreme elegance (that said, it is a mature and serious perfume, so it is advisable to wear it with the right clothes). As time goes on, it evolves from a boozy touch to a drier, more refined one (it is already a perfume as refined as it gets). If you expect something easy and versatile, this is not your path. But beware, it is neither strange nor difficult: it is a pleasant scent that most will like, although not everyone will want to wear it. Halfeti Cedar, without a doubt, one of the best if not the best I have ever had. Blind buy? I would dare to say no. Is it worth the price? It depends. If you like niche and money is no barrier, you will never regret it.

What to add to the very apt review by @SirCharlie, who I have always considered one of the best reviewers in Spanish and whose objective quality I never imagine equaling. Thank you, sir. The day I tried this fragrance I knew I was in the presence of something mine. It is serious, sweet and deliciously resinous. Balanced, potent and long-lasting. My skin is quite cruel to most perfumes, but this stays well for over 16 hours, with a soft and prolonged dry-down that always leaves me satisfied, and it fades almost at the limit of my strength without ever becoming exhausting. If you graft Halfeti onto Tobacco Oud by Tom Ford and turn all levels up to the maximum supportable level of pleasure, you get almost this. To go out on a cold night it will make you feel wrapped under a great black cloak of ancient luxuries, and the next morning you will wake up between its silk sheets macerated with a soft Port wine. It is mine!
What can one add to the spot-on review by @SirCharlie, always the best in Spanish and with objective quality I cannot imagine matching? Thank you, sir. The day I tried it, I knew it was mine: serious, sweet, and deliciously resinous. Balanced, potent, and long-lasting. My skin is cruel to most, but this lasts over 16 hours, with a soft, lingering dry-down that satisfies me and fades gracefully without being overwhelming. If you were to graft Halfeti onto Tobacco Oud from Tom Ford and crank all the pleasure levels to the maximum, you’d end up with something almost like this. For a cold night out, it will make you feel wrapped in a black cloak of ancient luxury, and by morning you’ll wake up nestled in its macerated silk sheets, scented with a gentle Port wine. It is mine!
Halfeti Cedar is the best of Penhaligon’s to date; neither Halfeti nor Leather convinced me before, but this smells complex, rich, mysterious and seductive. It is woody with cedar, topped with pipe tobacco, clear spices of cardamom and saffron, and a boozy fruity note that, combined with a sweet, resinous base, sounds perfect. It is purely masculine, ideal for playing the winner and leaving a mark. It suits cold or mild weather perfectly, lasts well, is expensive but worth it for the quality. It reminds me of The Blazing Mr. Sam, my favourite, but while that softens, this remains robust and woody. I love it, recommend trying it. Thanks to Gabriel Sánchez, a genius. Note: 9.5/10
Penhaligon’s Halfeti Cedar is among the brand’s finest, as previous offerings simply did not measure up. It is complex, enjoyable, mysterious, and seductive. Cedarwood dominates, accompanied by high-quality pipe tobacco, spices where cardamom and saffron are clearly detectable, and a fruity, slightly boozy note. Its lightly sweet and resinous base creates a sense of perfection. It is undeniably masculine, perfect for occasions where you wish to play to win and leave a mark. Ideal for cold and mild weather, with excellent performance and a high price that is justified by the quality. The only comparison is to The Blazing Mr Sam, but where that fragrance softens, this remains robust and woody. I love it and recommend it. Thanks to Gabriel Sánchez, a real star. Rating: 9.5/10
